I was a student receiving SSI at Rasmussen University, *********, online and received my AS in ************************** I was a FAFSA and Pell ***** recipient and would get checks for EXCESS FUNDS every term. I am now being sent to collections for in excess of $16,000 and the ledger from the collection company shows many excess funds in parenthesis for over $2000 which indicates that they did not keep those excess funds and probably gave them to me in my excess fund check. If I had an outstanding bill why was this not applied to my account? Also, I questioned my counselor many times about the purpose of me repeating classes or taking classes that contained an almost identical syllabus even though I was on the deans list/honor roll and they gave me no acceptable answer. I felt like I was being strung along and they were using ways to get my money. Perhaps I was right!

On Oct 19 2023, I was at my assigned clinical location and I was having had time focusing because I was dealing with excruciating pain so I took a 30min to relax myself, my fault was not informing my instructor. Upon arriving my instructor asked me to leave and speak to the **** regarding my actions. I immediately emailed the **** but I never got a response until Oct 25th when I was asked to see the ****. The instructor was present, **** and my advisor and they asked that I explain myself which I did but unfortunately for me they have already decided my faith. They gave me a paper stating that I failed clinical and I'm not allowed to proceed with the semester, I immediately emailed the director and she informed me that they would get back to me in 24hrs. I was called the following morning exactly at 11:32am by the campus **** but I was not available. She then proceed to email me around 11:51am stating that there is a meeting to clarify the options given by 12:30pm of the same day which I missed too as I was not available on my phone. A decision was made upon my absence and it was still the same option that was given. Staying in class with no passing grade or dropping the class with an F. I called my advisor for clarification about the tuition and she informed me that I'm still obligated to pay regardless of my decision. I do not understand how this is even okay, you're forcing me to drop my classes or fail it if I choose to stay all because I made a mistake if not informing my instructor about taking a break. I need my voice to be heard as I'm being treated unjustly. Why do I have to pay for something that is not beneficiary to me, I deserve a better disciplinary action as this Is Too extreme for the crime. Rasmussen university. .

I am currently a nursing student at Rasmussen University, I am in my fourth semester. I suppose to get my flu shot done, and my CPR renew based on their policies, but we were supposed to upload everything on 10/01/2023 but we had an extension until 10/04. We had two weeks break, so I wasn't here due to family emergency. But before 10/01 I reached out to ************************** to renew my CPR online but the fact that it will be expired in December 2023, I couldn't renew it, so I upload my card again then it got rejected and I receive an email from *************************** stated that I have until 10/4 to upload my flu shot and my CPR card. Then I make sure I upload everything on time on 10/4 but they removed me from one of my classes MDC3 and clinical's saying that I wasn't compliant with them. I reached out to every faculty member to help me with my situation to put me back in my class because I was compliant on time. And now they push my graduation date for June ****, and I was supposed to graduate 03/****. I really want to be back in my class to start clinicals as well so I could finish on time. And I think that's not fair to make me stay behind just because of my CPR card which is still valid until 12/23 and make me get a new one. Even I explained them my situation, they accept some students back in the class, but not me. They picked and chose who to put back in the class.

I attend Rasmussen University in ******* for the Nursing Program. I just received a call from my advisor saying that I was getting dropped from a class's clinical due to my flu shot being rejected from the castle branch system (the system for . I uploaded the flu shot sticker along with Publix paperwork by its due date in September. It was in progress for a while then in class Tuesday afternoon, my professor mentioned calling them to see what is going on. So as a precaution, I went to Publix and had the pharmacist fill out the Rasmussen form to upload to ensure that it would be accepted (to be on the safe side). The same information on what I initially uploaded, and the second upload are the same information, but the second upload is written out. I called castle branch yesterday (Wednesday) and they said uploading from your phone can sometimes cause it to be stuck in progress. So, the castle branch rejected the form so I could reupload, so I completed the upload on my computer. I discovered that Rasmussen students get free rush to expediate the process for approving so I took advantage of that. Within hours it was approved yesterday in castle branch. I sent in my paperwork in by the due date but now the error of castle branch keeping in progress status has fallen onto me. I submitted what was required by the due date. This issue will delay my graduation from June to September unless I drop down to the *** track which would require me to pay all of the starting fees over again of about $800. I would like to continue with my clinical and graduate on time in June

I am writing to convey my deep disappointment and frustration in response to the recent denial of my grievance appeal letter by the Rasmussen University ***************** I approach this matter with genuine concern, as I embarked upon the grievance appeal process with the genuine intention of seeking a fair and impartial resolution to the prevailing issue. However, the rejection of my appeal has left me disheartened and compelled me to question the efficacy of the process itself. My primary objective in submitting my appeal was to ensure that my concerns were thoroughly considered in a manner that reflects the principles of fairness and justice. The decision to deny my appeal, unfortunately, has ignited doubts in my mind about the robustness and transparency of the procedure. I had anticipated that my appeal would be granted comprehensive examination, particularly considering the substantial impact of the situation on my academic journey and the broader experience I undergo as a member of the Rasmussen University community. On July 19th, 2023, I took the initiative to formally submit a grievance appeal letter to address the denial of my previous grievance submission regarding the refund of tuition fees. Regrettably, my appeal was declined without the meticulous assessment or resolution that such matters warrant. The response received from Rasmussen University cited that "Evidence does not warrant a refund of tuition and fee," a statement that, in my view, reflects a dismissive approach to the well-being and academic success of the student body.I take this opportunity to recount my experience, not merely to convey my personal sentiment but to cast light on issues that require attention and reform within the university's procedures. It is my sincere hope that my account will contribute to fostering a positive transformation within the institution, aligning it more closely with the principles of student support, engagement, and effective conflict resolution.

I attended this college starting in 2013 through 2015/16. I was never informed that if I did not complete my studies, that my credits would expire. When my grandma died in 2014, I reached out to my adviser ***************************, and she coerced me to stay on, even though I was struggling. She was an advocate for the college and not the student as it should have been. So I attempted to go back this year, and all seemed normal, excluding me having to submit an appeal due to a triple fail, which was approved, but as my new adviser was assisting me ***, we ended up running across where 60% of my credits expired, and I appealed the decision and it was denied that they would not overturn the decision of me having the credits not expire, so I appeal that again to the committee, and it was denied again. Long story short, this college has been nothing but deceptive with the exception of ***. He has been the only genuine person that was willing to help me with this matter. Since my credits have expired, then I am seeking payment for the credits that have expired. It was never told to me that was even an option, that they would expire. Also, there is not other degree path that they can use any of my credits for, and I would have to accumulate more debt and another 1.5-2 years to finish the degree that I have already done school work for 1.5-2 years. I only needed 14 credits to obtain my associates and now I need many more again. I am demanding either for the exception to be made where I can finish these 14 credits, or they can refund me the cost of the expired credits since I was misled. If a satisfactory resolution is not reached, then I will proceed to take this University to Small Claims Court, report them to the ********** of ********** the ** State Atty **** and every other entity involved regarding ***************** You need to make this right, or I will seek legal action. I expect a prompt response/resolution within the next 14 days or I will file suit and see you in court.

I am rejecting this response because:

I have spoken with the Executive Director about my issues, but nothing has happened. Its simple. I want to be able to go back and finish my degree with Rasmussen, or I want a refund if you are claiming the credits that I paid for are expired. That is absurd. So I want someone not from the ************* Campus to contact me immediately. Ive also spoken with ******************************** and I wasnt given any options. Attended Rasmussen University for multiple years and finally was able to graduate in 2021, however, I was told I can NOT receive my hard earned degree until I pay off my balance. At first I proceeded to pay monthly on a bill over $5K then got to $500 and could not continue to pay due to an acute medical illness that I am still in treatment for. I contacted *********************** from the school of Rasmussen, who then sent me to the records department via email and the records department stated After reviewing your record it appears there is still a hold on your account and this is what has prevented you from receiving your diploma. Unfortunately I do not have access to review what the hold is specifically but when the hold is for diplomas, it is generally because the student has a financial obligation that has not been fulfilled. You would need to reach to out the Collections team to check what is needed to have this hold removed. Once this hold has been removed we are able to add your name to our next diploma order.I am aware of many former students who have balances but received their degree due to the law that was passed that degrees can not be withheld due to financial issues. Its been a long journey and I feel I have worked hard for my degree and spent over 30k dollars on their nursing program which majority of teachers were very unhelpful. I just want my degree and that is all.

I express deep disappointment and frustration over the denial of my grievance letter by Rasmussen University. Despite my efforts to address concerns through proper channels, I find it necessary to bring attention to this matter. On July 7th, 2023, I submitted a formal grievance letter outlining difficulties I encountered at Rasmussen University, seeking a refund of my tuition fees. However, my grievance was denied without proper consideration or resolution.Rasmussen University's response reflects a disregard for student well-being and success. I share my experience to shed light on issues and encourage positive change within the university. My intention is not to harm the university's reputation but advocate for a fair resolution. I was a student at the university and have seen all the same complaints with changing.poliicy with grades and not receiving communication back when escalating concerns. My issue involves not only failing me with a health situation which is on file with them but also having a death in the family with no compassion to the situation whatsoever. Their explanations when you share their policy published they use their own discretion to fit their narrative. Educators are supposed to have compassion and care about students so that students thrive and show the same compassion to their patients. I choose this school because of what I was sold on during the enrollment process but after that it was nothing short of continued communication breakdowns. No respect for the student. Disorganized schedules and or last minute changes, no consistent communication around following their own policies and much more.. I have also had to drop and retake classes due to them telling me with last minute details and now I'm being failed for average on exam of *****% instead of 78 and an overall b in the class but they alter the outcome wanted and not hold to their published requirement for course of the exam only counting as 42% of grade so the math doesn't add up and we can't seem to explain why! No test scores still show in system yetYou get cand messages if you get any your told to appeal but say they usually never get approved on appeal. So you really have no option and your life is being altered by someone who doesn't care about your own medical issue and the fact despite having a death in the family that you continued to follow all guidelines. Please I hope no other student has to go through this at all. I would recommend to any student please review all the negative comments and any bbb details because if a person is taking the time coming here to share their experiences they are trying to do the right thing !! so do your research before you think about attending the school.
