Argumentative, rude, and ignorant customer service. Hiway used to be the best bank I'd ever banked with hands down top-notch customer service every time. They had high standards for quality and training. Blaze Credit Union's customer service training manager should be fired. I'm seriously looking for other credit unions to bank at after being with Hiway for well over 10 years. I've gone through a lot and always felt good about my bank until now. Nobody approved this merger in my opinion, executives trumped up propaganda about it being approved by members to push it forward and cash in. You can drive by all the old Hiway banks and see all they've done is throw a plastic tarp with the Blaze logo over the old signs. I seriously miss Hiway and the members should have the right to separate from Spire to return it to what it used to be. This is terrible.

Cannot get through by phone to inquire about CDs and interest rates. Have been waiting 2 hours currently. And their form letter about a maturing CD has a mistake in it that requires clarification. It refers to CDs that were 7-11 months and 13-23 months. No help with 12 month CDs.

Blaze Credit Union deserves zero stars for their appalling customer service, predatory practices, and system disfunction. Last summer, my wife and I put our car in storage while living out of state and removed the car’s comprehensive insurance. At the end of the summer, we were hit with a large fee on our account without any prior notice or communication.
My wife and I were blindsided by the fee. We later found out that it was due to a lapse in comprehensive coverage. Not once did Blaze Credit Union call or email us to ask why our insurance was removed. If they had bothered to contact us, we could have easily explained the storage situation or readjusted our insurance.
Instead, they claimed to send us a letter, which we never received since they sent it to an incorrect address. We always diligently update our addresses to ensure all our contact information is current, to avoid issues like this. This mistake clearly reflects their poor management and system inefficiencies. It’s inexcusable that a financial institution could mishandle such basic information. If their systems cannot handle such basic information, I am concerned with their ability to secure their overall systems.
When we attempted to understand the charge and potentially resolve this issue, we encountered nothing but hostility and rudeness from their representatives. They were unhelpful, unfriendly, and at times downright aggressive. At no point did we feel like valued customers; instead, we felt disrespected and mistreated throughout the entire process.
Blaze Credit Union's behavior is unacceptable, and I strongly advise everyone to stay far away from this institution. Their lack of communication, system errors, and predatory customer service practices make them a nightmare to deal with. Save yourself the headache and find a better lender.

7/29/24 At 3:30pm. Went to deposit $4,400 and the drive thru teller said they don't do deposit slip and for me to hand the money over and she will deposit it to the right amount. As she got the money on her end, she counted first the brought it over to the machine to count and it said $4100 only. Before I left to the bank I counted 5 time to make sure it's $4400. Now she's telling me I only have $4100. I went inside and talk to the supervisor and she won't pull the video. She also counted the money and there's $4100 in the drawer. I told her of course there is $4100 in the drawer, i want to see the video when the money was hand off to her. She told me she have no access to the video. Also told me they will give me a call. So disappointed in blaze. They are theives in disguise. Beware of your money and don't use the drive thru.

This credit union has gone down hill since the merger. I have been getting hit with courtesy fees for no reason! Today, I got hit with four fees while I had money in my account and I got told that they could not waive those fees. I will be seeking legal action if the manager does not put those fees back. We will also be switching banks as customer service has also gone down hill. I get told over and over again "Our systems haven't changed". Your digital banking is NOT the same.. Never in the last 6 years that I have been a customer have I gotten courtesy fees for transactions that came out while I had plenty of money in my account. I have referred so many friends and family to this credit union and I will be letting every single one of them know the experience I have faced and encourage them to bank else where. This is unacceptable. I no longer trust Blaze Credit Union with my money. Once those fees are put back or if I have to seek legal action because they are not put back, I will be switching banks immediately.

Awful. I do not recommend this bank to anyone! We have been members for 20 years prior to all the mergers, the last year it has gone downhill. Customer service isn't there for the members anymore, loan department can't get paperwork right, they can't even add to submit Gap paperwork correctly making it a long drawn out process. They don't care if you are a customer, they don't take ownership of their own mistakes. It's been an awful experience. You cannot talk to anyone who will own it and do it anytime. Every call is super frustrating, you have to document everything!! I highly suggest bringing your business elsewhere.

I just spent a whole year working multiple jobs trying to save up money to take my travel companion, my elderly childhood dog, with me on one last big trip before she completely loses her eyesight. I invested a lot of money, time, and energy into this trip and i was finally ready to go.Bad luck struck as we are traveling in a country with corrupt police force. I ran into some of these unfortunate people on my second day in the country, and they proceeded to rob me. I had made the mistake of disclosing this detail to my bank when they had called me to confirm something else that was going on with my account.Since i had now disclosed what had happened to me, wanna know how this bank decided to react? To cancel the only source of money that i had, in a country where i had just been robbed for cash. I pleaded with them several times over the phone asking them not to do it. They were going to leave me stranded. They didnt listen.I was sleeping on a concrete floor for a week. My body hurt every day and i couldnt sleep. I cant afford to take transportation anywhere so i walk several miles a day in 90 degree weather to obtain the basic things that i need. Almost 3 weeks later, my home address still hasnt recieved the new copy. I push another call through to my bank, only to find out THEY NEVER EVEN CREATED A NEW CARD OR SENT IT! Now my financial situation is even more dire.Ive now gone a little over a week of only being able to afford to feed myself something small, once a day. I dont have the energy to walk around the city to get the things i need anymore. Im out of soap. I cant afford clean water. I've been here for a month now. Im out of time. Out of money. This bank literally pushed me into poverty in a foreign country. "To protect me". Highly do not recomend relying on them for anything. They had taken away every safe space that i had. I was told it wasnt personal but yet i felt incredibly violated and utterly failed by a system i thought i could trust.

In situations where the security of the account has knowingly been compromised, Blaze must balance protecting the assets of the member with giving the member access to their funds. On 02/05/2024, Blaze Credit Union received notification alerting us that the members online account access had been breached and new payees were added, which is why we had placed a call to her. Upon speaking with her, she notified us that she had been robbed and stated her debit card was out of her possession for a period of time and possibly compromised. Blaze followed current industry standard procedures placing a hold on the debit card and blocking access to online banking. We worked with the member to provide her access to funds by lifting the hold on her debit card long enough for her to withdraw the daily maximum allowed at an ATM over a two day span. The member stated she had a trusted individual who would be able to send the card to her in ****** if we would send it to the address on file, which we did. The new debit card was sent via ****** Tracking records show it was received at the address on file on 02/22/2024. A review of the account shows the new debit card is currently being used in ****** which leads us to believe the member is accessing her funds.

I have never had such a terrible experience. First they did not hold our two checks. Then they held our check for two weeks without telling me. They said that we had to call to have our third check released. Then when I did it still was held. I was charged fees for dishonored checks when the money was in the account. Blaze just denied them my money.
Very sad that I opened an account with them.

Thank you for your feedback. When the check was deposited on 02/16/2024, a hold was placed on the funds adhering to Regulation CC, which all financial institutions must follow. The notice that the check was being held and when it would be released was printed on the transaction receipt, which the depositor signed to acknowledge the hold. A copy of the receipt was given to the depositor at the time of the transaction. Under Regulation CC, the reason the check hold was placed until 02/28/2024 was because the account was new with no other relationship(s) with Blaze. A review of your account showed that when you called in on 02/21/2024 regarding this situation, an associate made an exception, releasing the check hold early. In addition, all fees incurred were refunded. We sincerely hope that you continue your relationship with Blaze and give us the opportunity to assist you with your future financial needs.
