  Through reading the reviews (and in my experience) it seems that your experience with the company depends on which people you end up working with. My second electrician, Don, was amazing. He communicated very well and was quick to explain any and everything through the process on the electrical side of things. He was very kind, honest, punctual, and knowledgeable. He even kept some of the other installation crew (which changed by day) in check, becoming kind of like a lead and supervisor for when they weren't being as safe and productive. My program manger was not a good communicator at first but seemed to do better toward the end. I did not like that I was not included on the redesign of my system. I only knew that the plan had changed when someone dug a trench in my yard and I received a packet a couple days before install. Their responses to this were that I asked about a subpanel (I also asked about more solar panels) and for the solar panel design, simply a 'this will provide more energy' without anything more of a explanation or comparison to the original design. Overall they were installed and after getting the witness test scheduled they were running. So far they are not producing as much as I expected but it is also winter season now. I was told the snow should melt off itself but I just ordered a gentle snow rake since it took days to melt a few inches. I'm not sure how much I would recommend them for Solar since there was a lot of stress with changes and random workers showing up at my home. They also left a pallet of trash in my yard for over a month until my panels were active. There was a few great workers that I met with the company as well such as our sales rep Ryan and a few that I unfortunately can't remember the names of right now. The guy that came for the witness test seemed amazing. He listened to my concerns over the whole process and apologized for my experience. He reassured me they were working to be better and I wish I had met him sooner.

  Do not use this company. We decided to use them for complete solar panel install on the house and garage. 2days we were told for install. They showed up the first day and said that this was a 4 or 5 day project and that they were only there 2 days. After two days only the metal hardware was installed and then the lack of comunication from then on was ridiculous as it took 5 weeks for a crew to come back and then they were only there for a day and a completely different crew that had to figure out what was done and not done. So after they it was 3 more weeks until a brand new team came out and still didn't finish but did get to the point of an inspection which failed and we had to wait for them to come back another 2 weeks and then an inspection and then after the inspection was done and we were up and running we called and called and called for them to come back and fill in all the trenches so nobody would get hurt. They came back and put yellow ribbon to keep people out and 7 months later they NEVER came back after promises of the next day and as soon as a job finished early someone will be out. Well we are past that and had 5 family members help fill in all the trenches. And now for the third time we are having issues with our panels and still havnt got them to come out. Terrible terrible customer service and I have never worked with a company that would not complete there job. Also they said the install was done before they started which released the funds to them and we lost 4 months of usage during that time because of there lack of showing up to complete the job. Please research and find a better company.

  We installed our ground mount system on our property and decided to go with Wolf River as they are local and have great reviews online. So far we enjoy our new system and have enjoyed working with them.

  My wife and I started our solar research in 2021, After a couple of proposals that didn't fit our needs nor our budget, we started to become smarter on what exactly the solar needs were for home. Some best practices research by my wife led us to Sun Power and Wolfe River Electric. From the initial meeting through install and go live, Seth, Ben and all of our Wolfe River contacts were professional, informative, helpful, and timely. I was kept in the communications loop with a simple cc. The installation team was fantastic. They picked the hottest week in Iowa last summer to do the installation of our system. Through the hottest days of summer, they completed our install on time and with a professional attitude. We never heard one complaint and even heard laughter, togetherness, and fun as they completed their work. When the system was inspected, the inspector informed me that Wolfe River's payment program is so much better than many solar companies who require payment in full upon install, and then the go live process seems to become less of a priority. There were challenges as we worked with our electric company, but thank goodness we had experts who had the knowledge to navigate through the permits and bureaucracy of the electric company. I 100% recommend Wolfe River Electric to anyone who is considering solar energy.

  Wolf River Electric had sold us a system that was supposed to give us the amount of electricity we needed for our house, especially over winter. We had told "WRE" that we wanted the system to cover our energy bills, plus cover an electric boiler we were going to buy to heat the house, as our house was currently using fuel oil to heat the house. We were told by WRE that the system we were having put on would MORE THAN COVER our bills, even the electric boiler for winter heat. We asked several times for clarification and were told every time that it would FULLY and EASILY cover our bills. We were told that our system would be up and running by September 1, 2022, but it didn't get up set up until April 1, 2023. The delays on our system affected us financially. We were told we have three years to pay the loan down, and whatever the payment was after that, it would be stuck at that amount for the next 25 years. So we went into this planning on paying into the loan as much as possible. We were told the payments would start when the system was up. (Meaning the bills would be paid by the solar system so we could pay extra into the loan) But the system was considered operational even though it was NOT. So we had to keep paying our electric bill, so we couldn't pay extra into the loan. Because of that, the first year we added 1000 in interest! Which we never would have accrued, had we been able to pay into the loan. Then, we found out our government money did not all get counted the first year, so our payments were nearly DOUBLED from what we were told! We have now also discovered, now that we FINALLY have panels that are working, that we are NOT earning enough energy to heat the house. So we spent thousands on a new boiler for NOTHING. WRE promised to compensate us for the winter fuel oil from the delay, but now they are denying that. They have not compensated us at ALL and have lied repeatedly in this process. They are also unprofessional and terrible communicators. RUN!

  The Guys at Wolf River Electric Company were on their Game, even through all the hassle that my electric company put myself and them through, they did everything in their power to make sure to keep me up to date with everything and to make sure they pushed my electric company to get everything done. All very Friendly, Outgoing Guys it was a great pleasure to work with them all. Small Company but Mighty, Love These Guys, and Thank you For Everything You Guys have done for US!

  Sales team did a great job.
  Installation crew and project management started out strong, but over time miscommunication and home damage issues that still aren’t resolved today, Wolf River has their money from the bank and now it seems these issues are low priority. Please research your solar companies before making a final choice.
