This is the worst bank I have ever had the misfortune of using.
I had US Bank for a little over a year and had more issues in that one year span than I have with all other banking interactions at every bank I've been to in my life.
They constantly lock my accounts and cards for no reason. Including claiming stuff like fraud for purchases that I had made before in a city a 20 minute drive away from my home address. Meanwhile I literally *had* fraudulent transactions on my account from places I've never shopped from and completely out of my normal spending behavior. But those were apparently fine and they just let people make online purchases with my cards.
Nevermind the fact that the geniuses you have to call in their security department by and large have an attitude problem because how dare you inconvenience them for them blocking access to your own money.

THEY made a mistake, and entered the wrong amount for a deposit. That was back in Oct!!!! They just called now, 4 months later, to tell me that they will be taking an enormous amount of money out of my acct, to correct their mistake!!! Why did it take FOUR MONTHS!!!!!!! I’m currently out of work!! We don’t have extra money!!!! US Bank is the devil.

This is just a warning to USBank CD holders. When your CD matures, if you allow it to roll over, the interest rate will revert to their "standard rate" which is currently 0.25%. It will not be renewed at the current rate for new CDs, currently about 3.5%. I have held CDs from many banks, both online and brick and mortar banks, and this is the only one I have experienced that does this. All other banks I have dealt with roll over the CD at the current market-based rate they are offering. Also, if you cash out the CD, you either have to have the money deposited in a USBank savings or money market account or they mail you a check. They do not let you electronically transfer the money to another bank (even though they will accept your initial purchase as an electronic transfer). Buyer beware.

Horrible service and knowledge. They assign you a mortgage manager to make it sound like there is someone there to help you, yet the person is nonexistent and you can never get ahold of them. They don't train their associates, and then they tell you something incorrect, and it's on you. I've lost thousands in rates due to inaccurate information US Bank associates have advised. Do not use them for anything!

DO NOT BANK WITH U.S. BANK!!!!
We have a closed business checking account with them (Closed 2 years ago) and we have a personal checking account still open. Our personal account was debited for a questionable balance from our business account which had a zero balance when we closed 2 years ago. Representative said they have the right to do it because we signed a fine print agreement with them when we open our account, Second time it happened. We closed our account and went to Chase.

Had questions on my lease. Were terribly rude. Can’t talk to anyone . Set an appointment for them to call you back and never call back. What a joke.

System maintenance was supposed to be done in a “few” hours. We are now in our 7th hour and they don’t know when it will go up. Unprofessional. Really bad service.

I have been with US Bank since 2017 and the majority of my experiences have been positive. I am pretty much self supporting with my accounts so I rarely need to interact with bank personnel. I realize now that my high opinion is really because I don't need assistance.
I understand that credit fraud is rampant and I'm grateful on some level that they are on top of things. But recently I tried to conduct online transactions with a company I've previously done business with for years. One of the nice things about IOT is being able to order what I need outside typical business hours. So it's frustrating when a charge is denied when there is no rational reason. Apparently whatever algorithm or AI tech they use to review potential charges is not based on customer service because it took hours out of my life to get the block removed. Card Services was so arrogant that they tried several times to blame the business, which was disputed effectively by the business. The Zenith of US Banks failed system is when they sent a text message asking if it was a valid transaction but responding with 1, which I did. It had no effect on the outcome. The system doesn't 'learn' from transactions. Once I was able to finally get US Bank to lift the block and complete the transaction it was near the end of the day. I've got better things to do than call repeatedly, speaking to a different person each time. The next day I decide to initiate a new purchase around 4am. Which was declined several times even with responding to text messages that it was a valid charge. At one point the issue was escalated to a one person, with no option of escalating beyond her mediocre customer service. I finally gave up and paid through PayPal which was quick and painless and happened extremely fast. I don't believe US Bank really wants my business or has the faintest idea of what good customer service is, like taking ownership, follow through and effectiveness. New bank? I wonder.

I have been with US Bank for over 20 years. Yesterday I got a few letters, US Bank is giving me two weeks to close all my accounts, business and personal, with no explaination. I called and went to a branch, all they could tell me is that based on their terms and conditions they have the right to terminate the business relationship for any reason anytime!!! I am NOT a criminal, not laundrying money, account is in a healthy state, a client for over 20years. There was not a bit of appreciation, kindness, or courtesy in this process, no smile, no reasons given, no questions asked, no investigation done. I have no choice but to select another bank and go through all the stress relinking my accounts. I left the branch feeling suffocated...

I’ve been a U.S. Bank customer for 47 years, starting with the savings account my parents helped me open in 1977 at the Zapp Bank in Saint Cloud, MN, which later merged with US Bank in the early 80s.
I pride myself on being vigilant in protecting against fraud and identity theft. I’m also well educated in identifying email fraud etc. Despite this, someone walked into a Southern California US Bank branch and withdraw thousands of dollars from an account. The cash out ticket used to complete this transaction shows the date and account number added in one distinctive handwriting style, and my printed name and signature added with a different distinct handwriting style. Therefore, I suspect that the branch teller filled in part of the withdrawal slip. Also, the fraudster misspelled my printed first name, and then misspelled my last name in the forged last name signature.
Despite this, U.S. Bank completed the transaction, giving the fraudster thousands of dollars of my money.
Of course I quickly reported the fraud to U.S. Bank when I noticed the transaction using the U.S. Bank app I look at every day. I then took the next day off work and meet in person with a bank rep at my local branch here in MN. That was several weeks ago now.
I also immediately froze my credit bureau reports and my Chex Systems report.
I’ve yet to receive my money back. The money US Bank recklessly gave no questions asked to a stranger a thousand miles from my home address. U.S. Bank has the fraudulent transaction recorded on surveillance video. The circumstances and the overwhelming evidence irrefutably proves I bear no responsibility for the theft of my money. U.S. Bank is fully to blame. Yet their fraud claims department continues to delay, even sending me a letter asking me to fill out and mail back documents that have already been filled out and submitted weeks ago.
Don’t trust this bank with your money. It’s a joke.
