I called about a wire transfer fee that was incorrectly charged even though I should not be charged a fee due to my Platinum Plus tier. The customer service rep waived the fee which was great. But then she told me actually the free wires only apply to my checking account, not my savings account. I told her that's not what it says on the web site. She told me to leave feedback on the web site but the web site does not have a way to leave feedback - it says to call. Ooops!

By far the worst customer service ever
By far the worst customer service ever. Wait times over one hours. The reps are disrespectful. They don’t know their jobs. I heard kids and cursing in one of the Rep's backgrounds. They were unable to resolve my situation.

If I could give 0 stars I would. I will be filing a law suit in addition to exhausting all avenues of complaint (FDIC, Federal Reserve, BBB, CFPB, etc.) I deposited a higher than normal check using their mobile deposit which I have used several times in the past. The online system informed me that $275 would be made available immediately (which is consistent with every other mobile
and in person deposit I have completed). It stated that 1/2 would be available the next business day and the remaining the following Monday. That did not happen (in fact they showed I had a negative balance of the deposit amount initially). I was informed that due to the size of the check it was on hold for TEN DAYS. I asked to speak with a manager and was connected to Robert in the fraud department. This guy should not be in customer service at all. He was condescending, rude, arrogant, and did not offer any reasonable explanation for the banks on line mobile deposit giving different information than what they are explaining to me. He just said he was sorry that I didn't read the "fine print" when I opened my account. If this is a federal requirement because of the deposit amount than their disclosure should be consistent with that when doing a deposit. Additionally, it should never take 10 days to verify funds in this electronic world. I have just returned from the bank where the check was drawn from and the check cleared the issuers bank account in 1 business day. US Bank needs to take action on Robert and needs to update their disclosures for mobile deposits if there are differences from policy based on check amounts. This is misleading and causing undue hardship unnecessarily.

      1-Star Review for US Bank
Absolutely infuriating. I have never been so frustrated with a bank in my life. I had $20,000 in my account, yet US Bank constantly blocked me from accessing my own money. They denied my card multiple times — even for basic things like paying my rent.
When I finally went to a branch to withdraw my funds, they treated me like I was trying to rob the place. They only let me take out $2,000 and told me that no other branch had enough cash for me to get the rest of my money. Excuse me? It’s my money. I felt like I was being held hostage by my own bank.
If you want a bank that will trap your money and deny you at every turn, US Bank is the one. I’ll be closing my account and telling everyone I know to avoid this place like the plague. Zero stars if I could.

I no longer trust US Bank after many years. They made an error, admitted to it and now I have to wait 12 days for my deposit . Single Mom here. That was my entire paycheck. I called the OCC and am filing a complaint and I called my local news and they have called me back. So see you at 11 US Bank

My how the once good have fallen. I've been banking with US Bank since 2001. Just went through a divorce and needed to do an assumption on my mortgage. This has been the single worst customer service experience in 39 years of banking.
      A. They continually kept changing my address unbidden to my ex-wife's address with no input from either of us, simply because she put in a change of address with the US Postal Service, and kept sending everything that was supposed to go to me for the assumption, to the ex. This despite repeatedly contacting them to change the address back and stop changing it.
      B. I tried to do an assumption of the mortgage, they charged me $1000 for the assumption application, then denied it even though I have had the loan for 19 years, never been late and paid extra every month for 19 years and have plenty of income.
      C. They lost data sensitive paperwork I sent them and required that I send it to them again, twice, took 2 months to do a one month process, refused to communicate at all and it took reaching out to a local US Bank mortgage guy and using him as liaison to get any response from US Bank on the status of the assumption. Then when I asked for a 5 week update, I got a cold and rude "no" email, despite an 800 credit score and plenty of income and them taking my $1000.
Now I am faced with a court mandated deadline and being forced to sell my house, because of US Bank incompetence, sloth and apparent greed. (You give me the middle finger but keep my $1000 fee????)
I am closing all US Bank accounts and moving everything to another bank. I will suck up the higher interest rate to refi somewhere else at this point, just to take my business elsewhere. That is providing the ex will be patient and that I don't lost my house before I can do that. I could not be more displeased with US Bank at present, and would recommend you remove your own toe nails with pilers before considering banking with this company.

I'm an 100% disabled veteran. It's June and US Bank is still can't process one exemption form to get my property taxes squared away. Wow.

I reached out to this bank and requested to speak to the complaints department and the manager on the phone would not provide the requested information. Looks like the only way to get to a complaint department it through the BBB or other regulatory channels. I’m not sure why this bank give the option to waive fee by making deposits, but then waits till after the cutoff deposit time to post ACH to then tell you the fee is valid. Guess this fall right in line with your $55 million lawsuit.

US Bank location on Payne Ave in Saint Paul. I have been a member with US Bank for some years now. I came in to deposit my check with cash back, which is my normal routine every two weeks for years now.
I spoke with the branch manager, who was not looking to override my payroll check and allow me to get half of my funds. I left out the door but being short cash, I decided to take the two hundred dollars that the manager said was available today until the check cleared. I came back & spoke with a female teller, who ran my check and said, "Let me see what your non-US Bank check cashback amount is." "One thousand dollars," she said. I only needed half. I'm not sure what was going on. "Let's do half the check, please," is what I told the second female teller. The security officer yelled from across the room, saying I could not get that amount and I could only get the $225 that teller one just told me. My issue was with the unprofessional security officer yelling rudely at me, which was very disrespectful. I have never yelled back and forth across a room with an employee. It seems the bank needs to ensure service training is provided for this employee. I asked him to mind his own business because the female teller was the one who offered me more money; I did not ask for that this time around. Yelling at me from across the room, not to mention not one employee intervened while this man was yelling in the bank that hired him to also represent them. Even the bank manager's door was open, and no one came out to tell him to relax.
The female teller was the only person telling me not to worry about it, assuring me that she would help. There is no explanation for his involvement in my interaction because the teller was addressing me. His actions were presumptuous, especially since no security issue was present. It was clear that his actions were beyond the scope of his duties, as there was no justification for his confrontational attitude or intrusion into my personal space.

So I get that a missed payment or late payment is the customer's fault. But life happens. When a person misses a payment by 2 days I believe a bank should have the decency to help there customers out. Unfortunately US Bank is not one of those companies. I work hard for my money and 2 days past is enough excuse for them to take an extra $41 dollars!? That was almost as much as the payment itself. That's seems quite greedy to me personally. Is the billions of dollars US Bank makes of of its customers not enough? Is the CEO's trust fund running out!? Come on, be better humans please. I don't recommend ever banking with US Bank or using them for credit in any capacity.
