  A plumber came out to my senior friends' home to replace a bathroom faucet. Keep in mind she is 93 yrs old. She actually purchased the replacement faucet herself and the person just had to put new one in. He completed the job in less than 45 min and charged her $500.00! Yes, that's right, $500.00, total rip off and we will get the word out to protect others from possibly running into the same issues and the company knows it. Again, the company owners know that is wrong.....Please do not use this company until they change their business practices. Thank you,

  Hero came to our home to replace a bad electrical outlet they charge $69 just to come out for estimate after estimate of $444 dollars and after some talk service man came down to $399 with no warranty to do the 15 minute job of replacing a $20 dollar electrical outlet boy highway robbery or just taking advantage of the seniors we are. Bad outfit don't bother calling them.

  They grossly overcharged for a sump pump replacement. The tech made it sound like more than just the pump was being replaced so I okayed the price/work and it turned out it was just the pump. Now they won't give me a breakdown of the invoice and why it cost so much. I've since heard similar stories of their quotes being sky high compared to other companies.

  My elderly parents were charged 749.00 for miscellaneous plumbing, I called and talked to the plumber and he said that was the fee for just coming out. He charged 289.00 which was 10 percent of total bill of 2600.00. When he came out all he did was cut a hole in the wall and plug the pipe. They paid this company 903.00, I told him not to come back. Who charges that much for an emergency visit.? Stay away from this company!

  Dishonest Company! We had a main drain backup on 3/15/23. I called Hero because they installed a new water heater and water softener for us a year ago. They first sent out a tech who confirmed it was our main drain but then also tried to tell me that our entire basement carpet had water under it by showing me an infrared camera on his phone (it was not wet, only a small portion next to our utility room was wet). He then tried to push a restoration company referral on us which we declined. Next they sent a tech to clean out the main drain. The tech was very nice and did clean out a very large set of roots, but that did not clear it entirely. He said he needed another tech to come and talk about next options. 3rd tech came and immediately was telling me I needed to install a pipe liner that would cost between 14-18k. And to fix the remaining clog I needed a bigger machine to come in at a cost of $1,400. I immediately called another local company who said their cost for said big machine would be $400, but without even seeing my issue they said they are confident they can clear with normal machine, which they did for $240. Please, please, please DO NOT use Hero - they are not a trustworthy company in my experience and now I am seriously wondering how much they overcharged me for my water heater/softener (by my internet research and napkin math, I think its easily 3-4k that they overcharged me). I learned my lesson there, but for them to charge $93 for a main drain cleaning and then not actually clear the entire drain and say they can't with their normal equipment, which another company did in less than 30 minutes. Clearly they price that lower than the competition to get into your house to upsell you on bigger expenses that you may or may not need. Btw, other company said pipe lining should only be about $8-9k and that my pipes don't need them, just annual cleaning.

  These reviews are clearly fake...this company is extremely overpriced and shady. We had Hero come out for some seemingly simple plumbing repairs (replacing the tank fill valve on two toilets) and the cost was absolutely ridiculous. These are $** parts and are about a 1/2 hour of work at the most, Hero charged us $*** each to replace them. No price was quoted before the service was performed or else I would have declined...I never imagined it could be so much. While replacing the valves the tech casually asked if I wanted to have the flappers replaced as well. Thinking it couldn't cost much to do so I said yes (these parts are less than $** and are easily replaced, especially since the toilet was already drained for the valve). Hero charged me $*** for replacing a flapper! There was also a need to replace the water shutoff on one of the toilets...I did asked how much more that would be and while $*** still seemed high not nearly to the extent of the other work. So for 2 fill valves, flappers and a shutoff valve the total was nearly $*****! Absolutely outrageous!
  Also, the tech tested our water (which we didn't ask for) so he could then reduce the duration of their warranty based on our water quality, but also to pitch a water softener and filter system to the tune of $*****.
  Heed the poor reviews and don't believe the positive ones for a second. I don't trust this company at all...they are clearly looking to identify more work and to charge as much as possible for it. They charge flat fees for all work so you have no idea what is the cost of the parts or the labor.
  Stay away!

  One of the coldest days of the season our boiler was struggling to heat our home, and Hero responded by sending Skyler, one of there technicians, within 90 minutes of my initial call. Skyler was able to troubleshoot the issue, and locate & install the part in a short period of time. Skyler is pleasant and knowledgeable. Hero has not disappointed us in our 5 year working relationship. Highly recommend.
