When we purchased our house, we had Marvin windows installed. It's been 9 years and now the seal is broken in one of the windows. It was very costly and we regret the purchase.I have emailed and called the service department for months. I have gone up the chain of command to the 4th level, and they just don't respond. They have no interest in helping the consumers. Please do not buy Marvin windows. Once you buy them, they don't want to hear from you.

I bought two Marvin patio doors one year ago; they were delivered and installed six months ago but there were broken pieces and the contractor (who was certified and recommended) cannot figure out how to install the screen doors so they are currently sitting in my garage. The local company that I bought them through doesn't have any answers either. Nice patio doors just impossible to install, I guess.

The company is quick to sell you windows but there is no follow up or service. My home was broken into and the glass in a one-light door was smashed by the burglars.I have been trying to get a quote from Marvin for repair or replacement of the door for the last 6 weeks without any results. The will not deal with the consumer directly. I was referred to their dealers who replied that they can't help me. My whole home was fitted with Marvin Windows and Doors, so I can't use anything else at this point.

I would like to install marvin doors and windows but I'm located in ******* and *********************** is the only marvin dealer. They're awful. They gave me an out of date catalog and walked away. So I'm installing ******** instead.

We just had 8 bedroom windows and a picture window installed, finish on the wood inside is horrendous, very rough, raised grain. and some closures are malfunctioning. Inspect you windows completely before install. wish we had sent back.. We assume they will step up and handle situation, but after reading these reviews it saddens me. If and when they fix I will change review.. They need a new quality control inspector or just need to have one. Put the coffee cups down and work on it.

Marvin had a great reputation so I was happy to order windows off them to replace original windows in my **** character home. Unfortunately error after error has occurred with Marvin rarely taking accountability kicking the can down the road and pointing blame at someone else at every opportunity. I worked with ** and a ****** and spent over 20k on windows that arrived and were the wrong colour, unfortunately because I was u informed on how to read the spec sheets, it was my fault and therefore I had to spend another $5,000 to get them repainted. I am still waiting now over 6 months for a black trim piece to be replaced to match the white interior of which Marvin now wants to repaint because it isnt a warranty item. When the windows arrived after another 2 month wait, i was pressured into having them installed even though the order was incomplete 1 window missing and no screens. Durring the install it was discovered that the windows were measured incorrectly by their contractor resulting in either the mismatch or trim on the outside to make the window opening bigger or having to add extra trim to make the window opening smaller (both of which I now have to pay to get repainted to match the original trim) another $2,000. I have been asking for a moderate **** refund for two windows I asked not to be installed due to their inability to fit the frame, I have been waiting over 3 months for a refund that *** never come. Today I found out after 5 months of waiting for screens that were going to come before the bugs came - they were made the wrong size and need to be remade. I only have three screens after waiting 6 months and replaced 9 windows. I have paid in full and Im worried I *** never see my full order. I am beyond frustrated hurt and angry but always placated to and made to feel gaslighted. I feel taken advantage of. Never ever use their western canada team. Honestly I just want to get what I paid for and never ever have to deal with them again.

Poor end user customer service. I like their ********************** and ******************** but we were missing a simple kit to join our two patio door screens. We reached out to Marvin and were pushed off to their retailer *********************. That was *** of 2022. Its now April 2023 and and we still dont have what we ordered, Marvin does not care about the end user. If they did they wouldnt simply dump you off to a lumber yard that could care less.

We built a new house with Marvin Windows. About a month after moving in, temp outside dropped to about -9F, inside heat was set to 67F. We woke up to windows and window ***** covered in frost inside the house. Contacted Marvin, Support case # ********. They tried hard to justify frost with high air humidity that caused condensation. I fully understand the physics behind condensation process, and acknowledge that humidity and air circulation were main contributing factors for the moisture on the windows. I had to reiterate multiple times to Marvin that I am asking about windows poor insulation, with glass and frame temps under 32F inside the heated house, that caused condensation to freeze. Here is the quote from the support email:*start quote*Yes, we have service techs to inspect manufacturing defects and repair, etc. per our warranty. You have not provided me any valid defect at this time except that the glass is cold, which all glass is cold, of course. Please contact the dealer where the product was purchased, if you feel there is a manufacturing defect, such as air infiltration, etc to submit a service request. Please contact your installer if you feel there is an installation issue. Apex Homes is the dealer where your windows were purchased. Refer to the order # I provided.* end quote *Basically, with Marvin, don't expect much insulation. Wish I could upload pictures....

Dear ****, Thanks for sharing your experience. It sounds like you have a good handle on the physics of condensation and frost formation. But in terms of the insulatory performance of your Marvin Essential windows, the overall performance (and R-value rating) of our various product collections varies, in part, as a function of the basic underlying materials used in fabrication, but also, there are customization options available to bolster insulatory performance. For example, triple-pane insulated glass is an option for folks interested in getting a maximum insulatory performance; also, our wood-based products tend to have a higher R-value as compared to our strictly fiberglass-framed products (yours is our entry level fiberglass product). Fenestration product should be selected with consideration to U.S. IECC/DOE *********** of ******* Climate Zones (1 to 8), you appear to be in zone 4/5. Finally, the coldest part of a window is normally the very center of the sashs glass. In the case that you describe, where frost/condensation has formed at the lower edges of the sash, sometimes servicing of the windows weatherstripping can bolster performance, but otherwise, as your **************** Rep. suggested, you might need to evaluate the products underlying installation techniques together with your HVAC dynamics. Hope this helps, and please feel free to contact your CSR to discuss further.

Speaking as a designer - I want to personally thank ************************* for such amazing service in providing information, drawings and feedback on the Modern multi-slide door series. She was quick in her response time and informative. Hoping she is appreciated by her employer!
