      The absolute worst - they mistakenly charged me for a payment on an account that was allegedly in forbearance. When I got them to issue me a refund (for over $1,000) they said it will take up to 60 business days to be refunded to my bank. The only plus on this is that every customer service rep I've talked to has been really kind, polite, and tried to help as best they could. No fault to their reps, just totally predatory incompetent policies.

      MOHELA **************** representatives are doing what they are trained. Performance of this company is unacceptable to be on hold for over an hour and a half to be transferred to a voicemail that a supervisor will call you back. No direct numbers are provided when the supervisor calls back nor an email etc. I have been fighting a FRAUD case since 2021. YES 2021! I am writing this complaint to possibly get someone's attention on my case. I have filed a complaint as well with the Inspector General and ************************* I have provided all documents requested by MOHELA multiple times in the last 3 years about these loans that were FRAUD. I am having to prove more who I am today then the persons who STOLE my Identity. BBB please look into this service provider and put a stop to innocent people like me who have had to endure this hardship. I am also a Veteran of the **** and this is a disservice to me and my family to have to deal with this for so many years. Hopefully this is being read by someone who will DO SOMETHING!

      I received a message from moorland that my student loan payment would be automatically debited as agreed in December. I then received a message from mohela in January that stated I am delinquent on my loans.THEY did not process the automatic payment then send a notice that my account was in default! I checked my bank and the problem was not on their side. I work long hours and cannot spend HOURS trying to get through to mohela.

      This is a horrible organization. Its insane that I dont have a choice in student loan service provider. They are slow, unorganized, inefficient and broader line incompetent. I have filed for in-school deferment multiple times to have the processed delayed. I applied in September 2023 and I am still getting the run around. They have created barrier after barrier. My University has been responsive. I last submitted in October. Spoke with them in November and got an email on 1/10/24 stating I need to reapply yet again because my application timed out, WHICH IS BECAUSE OF THEIR INEFFECTIVENESS. The Department of Education needs to remove them as a student loan service provider.

      Terrible service! I asked to be transferred from a Standard plan to a Graduated to have lower monthly payments. Mohela said it would take up to 7 business days to transfer me. I applied to be transferred back in September. October, November, and December I'm still on the Standard plan. I called multiple times (waiting time 1 hour+) to ask why I'm still on a Standard plan. Every time a representative made a promise to me that this issue would be resolved in days and I just need to wait. What a miracle, finally in January I saw that they transferred me to a Graduated plan. However, my monthly payments stayed the same as I was on a Standard plan. Seriously? Plus, I was on a Foreberance while they were trying to resolve this issue. Due to this, my amount to pay off is bigger now since: "you're still responsible for the interest that accrues while you're not making payments."So , thank you Mohela for wasting my time and for making me pay for your mistakes. Now, my new lower payment associated with the Graduated plan will take effect only in March, so I need to pay a higher amount associated with the Standard plan until March.

      I cant reach anybody on the phone, I stay on there for HOURS. They have messed up my direct debit somehow and I keep trying to call them to fix it. My loan is ****** a month, sometimes for some weird reason they only take out $35 from my checking account and then when I go to pay the rest of the balance it moves the decimal somehow and what would be ****** turns into *****. Im now almost 60 days past due, it wont let me pay it and I get no answer when I call so now I feel like Im just being penalized for something that isnt my fault and I cant reach anyone to talk to them!

      The MOHELA website incorrectly reports that they update credit bureau information monthly. (see below for the text copied/pasted from their website.However, my loans have had a zero balance since October, 2023, and they have not yet been updated. It is now almost February, ****. This is not acceptable. If I were 30 days late, I guarantee they would report that at the earliest date and time possible. From MOHELA:The status of your student loan(s) is reported monthly to the nationwide consumer reporting agencies. If your account is past due, late payments may be reported. Late or missed payments or defaults reflected on your consumer credit report will adversely affect your consumer credit rating.Loans that are 90 or more days past due are reported as delinquent to the CRAs for FFELP and federally-owned loans (DL). Loans that are 30 or more days past due are reported as delinquent to the CRAs for CASHLoans.Who are the nationwide *************************** (CRAs)?TransUnion Equifax Experian

      I am speaking on behalf of my wife who has Mohela/SOFI loans and is very frustrating to work with as a Student. The de-ferment Enrollment process is so frustrating to work with while you are still in school. They make you fill out these forms every semester to let them know you are in school to defer your payments from ********************* She is a student at ********************** for *************** and they don't understand that I will be there four years. Why can't they extend these forms to be longer? The payments they are requesting from students who are still in school are insane when we do not have the funds to pay for it. It's even worse when you are in the Autopayment system and your bank gives you an overdraft fee because they denied your form request. We don't have 600 dollars in our pockets to pay for our loans right now!! Please fix this issue with your company!

      I cannot get through to Mohela. I have called multiple times and waited on hold for hours without reaching anyone. My online account ********************* that due to my account status, I must contact them by phone to make any inquiries about my account. I do not know where to turn.

      This is the worst loan servicer ever. They never meet time lines promised on their website. Their website says 30 calendar days. After many many attempts to reach a live person, they said that it was actually suppose to be 45 business days not including week ends or holidays. They are still way way past this timeline to process my employment verification forms. I am suppose to be done making payments but they are messing that up with their inaction. Any message is responded to months after sending with an automated response stating they will get back to me with a response. Their level of incompetence and lying to customers about timelines is criminal. They can't process paperwork in the 45 business days as promised but processed the increase in my save program payment the next day. They get their money and keep taking mine after I am way past my ten years of service.
