bought 2 items from Spectrum Brands that had a recall. paper work filled out for recall on Jan.3,2024. Was informed that since I wanted checks sent to me it would be 4-6 weeks. I have contacted company 3/2/24, 3/18/24, 4/2/24, 4/8/24 inquiring where checks were. Received 1 check dated 5/23/24 on 5/28/24. Contacted company again on 6/4/24 and informed that they will reissue another check for 2nd item, but it will take 4-6 weeks to get. 6 months of phone calls and waiting for amounts owed. I would like them to expedite their refund promise.Business Response

So what am I supposed to do? I purchased my ***** trimmer less than 2 years ago, and now I can't find blades for it. I notice you are still selling that model. Don't you think it's unfair to sell a ***** trimmer to an unsuspecting public that doesn't know that replacement blades are not available? I have been in contact with Spectrum since April 2024 regarding Fungicide 3. The hose attaching spray bottle product seems to be defective. I have three bottles which will not spray any of the product. Spectrum recommended squeezing the bottle while trying to apply the product. Their recommendation caused too much product to be dispensed both on to my plants and my hands. Both times I followed their recommendation that was emailed to me and my hand became saturated in the chemical. I have emailed pictures and video to Spectrum displaying my plants that have burned in the following of the recommendation to squeeze the bottle while spraying.Business Response

I have been attempting to obtain a refund due to a recall for the Empower Brands Power XL Dual Basket Air Fryer. I have contact the recall center on 5 (1/16, 1/19, 2/9, 3/15, 4/2) different occasions with no resolution of receiving my refund via virtual remittance or physical remittance. In fact I just continue to be bounced from customer service rep to customer service rep. I have been unable to speak with a supervisor for escalation. This seems to be fraudulent practice to me so I am making a formal complaint of this matter for documentation purposes and in the hopes that I will finally receive my refund.Business Response

My husband is active duty military and while he was deployed I moved back home. While in ***** (June 2022) I received the PowerXL Grill Air Fryer Combo for my birthday. It was used twice and then forgotten in a cabinet. My family drove out to ** in ********** this Christmas so I had them bring it along. When I went to use it I got error 7 and it would shut off. After many attempts to get the unit to work I contacted customer support. They told me I was out of luck since it is past the one year warranty and the error code is non replaceable. I asked if there was any way to repair it at my cost but was told I would just need to buy a new unit. I purchased an electronic (Air Fryer) made by Power XL, a Spectrum Brands product, and under the warranty provided they are to replace or repair the product within the first year of ownership. When the product stopped working after about 8 months of use, I contacted them and they wanted to charge $24.99 for "processing and handling fees" for the return, but they didn't actually want the product returned. When I asked what the fees were for if the product wasn't being returned, they couldn't answer and continued to reiterate that they needed $24.99 to "process" the return but that the replacement was free per the warranty. When the unit costs $44.99 to a customer in the first place, this feels very much like they are just making poorly constructed products and then when they break they are passing the cost of replacement on to the consumer in a way where they can say that they haven't exactly violated the warranty, but they are still profiting off of consumers who are now having to return the product. So if I need to return the replacement product in another 8 months, I would just continue having to pay for new "free" replacements? I contacted Spectrum *********************************************************** ****** 2 receipt(s) from ********** for several bottles of Floor Finish. I was assigned a Contact Form Case # *******. ******,Consumer Specialist, acknowledged receiving both receipts. I do not recall the amount she will. The bottle's caps leaked (without being open) & a whole bottle drained. Then the replacement bottle was tipped while shut to ********* leaked all over my hand!I have spoken with ******/******, a Consumer Specialist, at ************ multiple times. She has reassured me each time that a refund check is being or was re-issued. I have never received a check. I receive all types of mail & have never had anything stolen from my mailbox. The letter would not be suspicious or interesting to a thief, as ****** says it is headed by the parent company name Spectrum. On special alert for the envelope I did not throw 3 checks out. In my opinion, a thief would not recognize the envelope's potential to include a check but would associate it as a mere cable company. I believe someone within the company is taking ***************************** needs to do an internal investigation. ****** also shared that she can ONLY issue a check 3 times. Please note that our company has issued 3 checks for the consumer as follows:
Check # ****** Issued on February 28, 2023 - original refund request.
Check # ****** Issued on April 13, 2023 - replacement check request.
Check # ****** Issued on May 24, 2023 - 2nd replacement check request.
The checks were mailed to the address provided by the consumer, **********************************************************-3088. We are unable to determine why checks are not being delivered to the consumer's address by the postal service. We will re-issue the replacement check and we apologize for any inconvenience this may caused.

Order Powerxl nutri sealer from tv informercial, buy one get 2nd for shipping and processing fee. Received the products. Three days later both products completely stopped working. Call company said they would send new ones after i cut the cord On the non working ones and send them a picture. I have not done that as it seems on the side of fraud. I can't be sure that no one will say I intentionally/accidentally cut the cords since they provided nothing in writing telling me to do so. I would return and cut cords on the non working ones after they send new ones or give a refund. I am rejecting this response because:This company is poor, unreal and nothing but a cheapskate company. What a disorganization, they sell defective products then take no responsibility. This is now turning into a consumer protection damage claim.
i sent 3 x boxes of Spectracide Terminate Termite Detection & Killing Stakes,15 Count. Which I asked to be completely replaced and returned because they were defective. They confirmed they received my shipment. Confirmed they were sending me 3 boxes. I never got anything, I told them that for years and they ignored me.
Now these slim-balls are arguing with me that sent me 10 stakes which I didn't even know......you were 35 stakes short to begin with clueless people at clueless company. In other words you short changed me then and you are now trying to short change me.
What kind of rouge company are you that all you do is screw around with customers, ignore them, and short change them.
I need all 45 stakes in the 3 boxes I sent to replaced.
