  Great structure to selling process. I wasn’t worried about fraud or scams as it is a very thorough and transparent interaction with buyers and sellers. Very satisfied and highly recommend.

  Tried to sell an iPhone. Kept telling me that I had to submit a verification photo, which I did on public and private. The number was very clear on a sticky. I even set the picture as the feature. They continued to tell me I needed to submit verification photos and would not specify what, when I asked them separately in an email. Same canned answer over and over again. I finally got fed up and deleted my posting. I proceeded to email them back asking them to delete my account/personal information and they have gone radio silent.

  Sorry to learn about the difficulty in trying to get your listing approved. On occasion, a listing may require an additional verification step before it is approved for sale. In this case, that additional step was uploading an image using the link provided in our email, however, it appears the instructions in our email may have been overlooked.
  
  As per our email:

  The photo we need to continue the approval process needs to come from you using this link. This page gives you very specific instructions on a very specific type of photo we need."
  
  In regard to your request to remove your Swappa account. Your email arrived in our support inbox, and we removed your account and replied back 2 minutes later letting you know that “your account is removed.”

  So far I’ve had 2 transactions. 1 worked out great and the other seller never even bothered to send item.
  Swappa lets unverified PayPal sellers scam buyers. I was scammed for $798 and PayPal will not refund my $. I’ve contacted Swappa several times for help but they tell me the dispute is with PayPal. I bought the phone through Swappa and they have zero recourse!!!

  Sorry to see the trouble you are experiencing related to this purchase. This is certainly not the norm here on Swappa, but you are protected on the purchase through your PayPal buyer protections, especially in a case such as this where the seller doesn't communicate or ship the item. Please make sure to continue working with PayPal through the dispute process to push for the refund.   Swappa lets fraud sellers in their system. If something wrong with the phone and you want to send it back to Seller, YOU HAVE TO PAY the SHIPPING yourself. I paid it myself. Swappa said the seller should reimburse the shipping cost but the the seller didn't do it. Bad service.

This seller, in particular, has been on Swappa for several months and has 16 successful sales. They were also responsive on this issue and quickly noted you could return the device.   Swappa is a safe, secure site to purchase used tech equipment. My experience is with cell phones only - I will attest to the advantages of going through SWAPPA to find, compare, and purchase a smartphone. All items are subject to examination and testing to rigorous standards assuring the purchaser of a viable, functioning device. The use of PayPal to execute the transaction provides both seller and buyer safety of controlled exchange of funds and the protections afforded thereof. I have purchased several iPhones this way. Two for myself and one for my wife. I have never been disappointed with SWAPPA.

  Have been selling on Swappa for over a decade, and it's gone so far downhill I don't think I'll continue to sell through this website anymore.Recently sold a phone that had hiccups with tracking numbers (that were well out of my hands and fixed fairly quickly) to an individual that let the phone sit in the mail for 5 days and then decided to accuse me of committing fraud multiple times because someone in his family picked up the phone and he didn't even realize it.I got a PayPal case started against me for no reason (which froze my account) and was berated by the buyer and continuously accused of never shipping the phone or somehow manipulating **** shipping numbers.What's hilarious is that the numbers I provided the buyer clearly showed the delivery date/etc., so there was no reason for any of this to happen.I reach out to Swappa staff during the process and get a copy-pasted paragraph, and that's it. No actual help or intermediation whatsoever. I reached out again, and GOT THE SAME EXACT COPY PASTED PARAGRAPH from the first time.Hours later, the buyer comes clean and drops the PayPal case and admits he had actually received the phone. I ask Swappa staff for some type of punitive action for the buyer since the buyer has made defamatory statements and caused issues with my PayPal account, and ******************** staff simply says:"It appears that the case with PayPal was resolved and that the buyer did receive the device. This was a clear issue on the buyers part, however we cannot penalize the buyer for their mistake on this part. We will notate their account regarding the sale and watch for any future behavior."So it would seem that there are near zero repercussions for buyers who act like this??Combine this nightmare of an experience with Swappa's MASSIVELY increased fees over the years, and you have a marketplace that I can barely consider viable anymore.Swappa, you truly used to be great, now you've absolutely fallen by the wayside.

  We’re sorry to see the issues related to this sale. This certainly isn’t the norm here on Swappa. There was some initial confusion on the tracking number, there were two provided, but after that things should have gone smoother, and the buyer certainly should not have opened a PayPal dispute when they did. Also, our support team could have handled this sale better. We’re sorry for that, and we hope this instance will not cause you to leave the successful 10-year history with 25+ devices sold behind.

  I have used Swappa for a long time, and bought quite a few phones for my family members and I just got a pair of headphones. It has always worked really well for me to have Swappa be the intermediary and work as the trusted entity between the seller and buyer. The items have been as described, and shipped as described. I've had no problems and would highly recommend this site.

  Swappa is a great marketplace for finding gently used phones in great condition - I just purchased an iPhone 13 in mint condition saving about $200 from price of a new iPhone. The site gives a lot of information about phones, tablets, and other electronics which makes it easy to narrow down to the item you want. For example, battery condition is an important consideration and most phones list battery life as a percentage (the phone I purchased had 100% listed). You can also filter the listing by various factors. I have purchased items in the past, and have always been pleased.

  I have been purchasing used electronics through this ecommerce site for years. Always a positive experience. I have never had a problem with the ecommerce site or the sellers that are approved to list there.
