1 starThe worst rental company ever! I would rate them 0. I confirmed reservation 3 times yet they had no car on arrival available. It cost me 1200.00(which I could not afford)+ an enormous amount of ill timmed stress to find transportation to my destination. They could have notified me prior to my arrival ( they had no problem confirming the reservation with payment information the night before), or suggested an alternate plan. Surely they could have seen the possibility of car shortages prior to my departure time. They have no idea of the amount of turmoil their lack of professionalism can cause, and wouldn't care if they did. I would walk rather than count on them for anything.Review fromKay B

1 starI made a reservation two weeks before the *** was needed, I was emailed confirmation details. The day before pick up I was called and told that there was a delay with the *** , and that I would be contacted when it was ready. My pick up time was at 10a and by 1p the next day I still wasn't contacted. I called them only to be told, " it probably won't be today because we are trying to get the *** from another state," are you serious!!!! I found out from 3 other people that this company has done them this way as well. I will never book or recommend this company!Review fromBonnie M

2 starsDespite being led to believe that the toll pass installed in
the vehicle was essentially an 'EZPass", I discovered, after being
charged the maximum toll fare per trip (the Battery Park tunnel at
$10.17/trip) that that is not the case. According to the emailed
response to my inquiry: "customers are allowed to use the EZPass lanes
as a courtesy, but the tolls are charged at the cash rates. This is a
companywide practice."
This makes no sense at all, and they should inform customers of what
toll rate they will be charged (ie: cash) up front, instead of, by
omission, allowing them to assume that this toll pass = EZ Pass rates. A
quick google shows this is a common occurrence and though perhaps
technically legal, certainly not completely 'above board.'Review fromMegan H.

1 starEnterprise uses unethical tactics by not explaining Damage Waivers or Collision Damage Waivers. I was told *********** would take care of my rental car, and that I would pay for fuel prior to return. The agent highly suggested the damage waiver, in case someone hit the car. It was not explained that I did not need this, if I had collision insurance of my own. The only reason I even needed a rental car was because someone crashed into my parked car, and *********** sent me to Enterprise to pick up a rental. ************ claims representative (insurance company of person who hit my car) stated that Enterprise was being unethical in not acknowledging that I was unaware and was not clarified that this insurance would not be reimbursed to me under *********** by Enterprise. I had a rental car for over 30 days and now have a $900 bill. When I called Enterprise and spoke with the *******, along with the *********** **** ******* tried to imply I had buyers remorse, when that was clearly not the case. Enterprise ******* stated he would call back, and has not returned phone call. Customers were rushed in and out of agency, while clients are paying for insurance they never needed.Review fromJeff G

1 starMy car was recently hit and had to be taken to a collision center for repair. The insurance company rented me a car from Enterprise Rent-a-car. Yesterday the car had a flat on the side of the interstate around 6:30 pm. The car did not come with a spare so I could not change it and move the car. I called roadside assistance and they told me to get to a safe place and call back. So I had to call a highway patrolman to give me a ride. When I got to a safe place I called roadside assistance again and they called me an uber to take me to the nearest open enterprise store. When I got there I was told that they had not cars for me. I called roadside assistance again and they said they would get me an uber to another enterprise location 30 minutes further away and farther from my home. I waited 15 minutes and no uber arrived and I did not receive a text from uber. I called roadside assistance again and was told conflicting information and that they could not guarantee me a car if they did get me to the next location. So I had to call my wife to drive 2 hours to come pick me up.The next day I called the local Enterprise where I rented the car and they told me they could not help me that I had to call roadside assistance again. I was also told they could not get me another car until the one that broke down was checked in. I call roadside assistance again and they gave me a number to the supposed location of the rental car. When I called that number it was not in service. I called the local store again and gave them the information. They said they would take care of it. That was at 11:00 am. I called back at 5:00 pm and they still had not been able to find anything out. They could not help me and that I could go by the office in the morning and they would see what they could do. I ended up renting a car from someone else.It is now September 7th and I still do not have items that were left in the car returned to me. I am having trouble getting enterprise to return calls.Review fromSamantha L

1 starI reserved a car to pick up at 10pm at an airport location. After a long flight from the other side of the country, I arrived shortly before 10pm at the rental counter, to be informed that there were no cars available. This despite the fact that I made a RESERVATION, for which I appeared on time. The counter agent told me that reservations mean absolutely nothing anymore, and do not actually reserve you a car. She suggested I pay for a hotel (!), an Uber there, and an Uber back in the morning to try to get a car as soon as the counter opened at 6am. The costs of all of this would be paid by me, not by Enterprise. Why accept reservations if you refuse to honor them, and only rent cars first-come-first served? I was left stranded and scrambling to figure out transportation from the airport to the town where my grandmother's funeral was happening the next morning. This was an incredibly frustrating experience, and a policy that was not made clear on any of my reservation confirmations.Review fromJoyce D.

I filed a complaint about a flooded car. Enterprise said they tried to reach me. This is not true they said and gave me their attorney phone number. I thought this was just a mistake. The more I research Enterprise Holding, Enterprise car rental, Enterprise car sales and the host of partners they have I'm not sure where this car came from. Some one went to great length to clean up the inside of this car. Seats, interior doors, windows, carpet (except for a whole in flooring drivers side). Some one have committed fraud, perjury( maybe). My Star Rating Would Be O but you don't have O Rating. So I'm forced to give 1 StarEnterprise Rent-A-Car

1 starAfter an accident I had in 2020, I needed a rental. I returned the rental cleaned at my own expense and with the amount of gas Enterprise employees told me to have in it. I got dinged for "not filling the tank" even though I was explicitly told to leave it 1/4 full, like it was when I picked it up.That's not even the worst part.Someone who had the rental a few days prior to me, took it on several toll roads.Imagine my shock when I got a letter from Enterprise demanding I pay toll road fees, when I wasn't even on them and could prove it.Enterprise led me to believe they would take care of it, but didn't. They let it go to collections and it went against my license. Completely unprofessional and the definition of poor customer service. They also conned my fiance into paying additional insurance fees after his accident in 2021, when my insurance already covers it.Overall, extremely shady and unprofessional business practices. Avoid them.Review fromJessica A.

1 starWould give 0 stars if able. Set reservation through insurance company. Called to confirm and was assured by corporate my reservation was ready. There was no vehicle when I arrived and the employee was rude and unhelpful. Told me it would be days without even calling other locations. I set up my own reservation at a separate location. Received verification email. No car for me when I got there. This employee tat least offered a different vehicle to which I agreed. Stopped at the store and went home. Next day, go to leave, low tire. Fine. I air it up. Run my errands, go home. Next day, go to leave, low tire again. Tried to call. Closed on Sunday. Next day, go to leave prepared to air the tire, completely flat. Change to the donut at 4:30 am. Go to work, call as soon as theyre open. They say nothing we can do for two more days because I work 12 hr shifts and cant come exchange the car until late. Then I ask if I can exchange after work at the airport because its the only one open. He says sure Ill set it up. I attempt to call to verify several times, never able to get through. I get to the airport. AGAIN NO CAR FOR ME. Call roadside assistance. They tell me to take it to specific tire shop. Tire shop has no record of me. Employee tells me that they did get a call and informed enterprise they did not have that tire available and were unable to assist. Called roadside again. They are trying to send me back to the first location I went where there was no car. I am now told to wait for that location to call me (for how long? Days?) and tell me IF they can get a car for me. I truly wonder if GEICO is aware of affiliation with a terrible company.Review fromRonda D.

1 starOur car was stolen from our house. Advise from the insurance company was to rent the car from Enterprise while our car was found and being fixed. We have used rental car services in the past for vacation only not for a service like this. We were aware that our insurance covered only $1300 with enterprise. Throughout the term of the rental car there was no communication that we have met our maximum or nor to the insurance company it was met. When we returned the car they said we owed $1400 dollars. They were to talk to our insurance company and delayed it and took out $575 out of our account a week ago and then now this morning took out another $1400, which over drafted our account and returned multiple bills. No communication that they were doing that both times Just decided to close the ticket and not let us know. Also, to be clear did never tell us we met our maximum. If we knew that we would have found another accommodations until my car was fixed. This has caused multiple issues with our bank, loss of trust with this company, and several fees to pay for this poor service, Spoke to the manager and basically said too bad.
