1 starI reserved a car to pick up at 10pm at an airport location. After a long flight from the other side of the country, I arrived shortly before 10pm at the rental counter, to be informed that there were no cars available. This despite the fact that I made a RESERVATION, for which I appeared on time. The counter agent told me that reservations mean absolutely nothing anymore, and do not actually reserve you a car. She suggested I pay for a hotel (!), an Uber there, and an Uber back in the morning to try to get a car as soon as the counter opened at 6am. The costs of all of this would be paid by me, not by Enterprise. Why accept reservations if you refuse to honor them, and only rent cars first-come-first served? I was left stranded and scrambling to figure out transportation from the airport to the town where my grandmother's funeral was happening the next morning. This was an incredibly frustrating experience, and a policy that was not made clear on any of my reservation confirmations.Review fromJoyce D.

I filed a complaint about a flooded car. Enterprise said they tried to reach me. This is not true they said and gave me their attorney phone number. I thought this was just a mistake. The more I research Enterprise Holding, Enterprise car rental, Enterprise car sales and the host of partners they have I'm not sure where this car came from. Some one went to great length to clean up the inside of this car. Seats, interior doors, windows, carpet (except for a whole in flooring drivers side). Some one have committed fraud, perjury( maybe). My Star Rating Would Be O but you don't have O Rating. So I'm forced to give 1 StarEnterprise Rent-A-Car

1 starAfter an accident I had in 2020, I needed a rental. I returned the rental cleaned at my own expense and with the amount of gas Enterprise employees told me to have in it. I got dinged for "not filling the tank" even though I was explicitly told to leave it 1/4 full, like it was when I picked it up.That's not even the worst part.Someone who had the rental a few days prior to me, took it on several toll roads.Imagine my shock when I got a letter from Enterprise demanding I pay toll road fees, when I wasn't even on them and could prove it.Enterprise led me to believe they would take care of it, but didn't. They let it go to collections and it went against my license. Completely unprofessional and the definition of poor customer service. They also conned my fiance into paying additional insurance fees after his accident in 2021, when my insurance already covers it.Overall, extremely shady and unprofessional business practices. Avoid them.Review fromJessica A.

1 starWould give 0 stars if able. Set reservation through insurance company. Called to confirm and was assured by corporate my reservation was ready. There was no vehicle when I arrived and the employee was rude and unhelpful. Told me it would be days without even calling other locations. I set up my own reservation at a separate location. Received verification email. No car for me when I got there. This employee tat least offered a different vehicle to which I agreed. Stopped at the store and went home. Next day, go to leave, low tire. Fine. I air it up. Run my errands, go home. Next day, go to leave, low tire again. Tried to call. Closed on Sunday. Next day, go to leave prepared to air the tire, completely flat. Change to the donut at 4:30 am. Go to work, call as soon as theyre open. They say nothing we can do for two more days because I work 12 hr shifts and cant come exchange the car until late. Then I ask if I can exchange after work at the airport because its the only one open. He says sure Ill set it up. I attempt to call to verify several times, never able to get through. I get to the airport. AGAIN NO CAR FOR ME. Call roadside assistance. They tell me to take it to specific tire shop. Tire shop has no record of me. Employee tells me that they did get a call and informed enterprise they did not have that tire available and were unable to assist. Called roadside again. They are trying to send me back to the first location I went where there was no car. I am now told to wait for that location to call me (for how long? Days?) and tell me IF they can get a car for me. I truly wonder if GEICO is aware of affiliation with a terrible company.Review fromRonda D.

1 starOur car was stolen from our house. Advise from the insurance company was to rent the car from Enterprise while our car was found and being fixed. We have used rental car services in the past for vacation only not for a service like this. We were aware that our insurance covered only $1300 with enterprise. Throughout the term of the rental car there was no communication that we have met our maximum or nor to the insurance company it was met. When we returned the car they said we owed $1400 dollars. They were to talk to our insurance company and delayed it and took out $575 out of our account a week ago and then now this morning took out another $1400, which over drafted our account and returned multiple bills. No communication that they were doing that both times Just decided to close the ticket and not let us know. Also, to be clear did never tell us we met our maximum. If we knew that we would have found another accommodations until my car was fixed. This has caused multiple issues with our bank, loss of trust with this company, and several fees to pay for this poor service, Spoke to the manager and basically said too bad.Review fromWANLI Y

This is the 2nd time I had the same experience with Enterprise: they claim they have premium SUVs (many listed) while you book your vehicle; but then they tell you they do not have it when you are there picking up your "booked" vehicle on the day of your trip!!! These were through two different rental offices in ***********, the Berkeley (July 24, 2021) and Richmond (Aug 4, 2022) offices, same thing happened! Making me feel this is a systematic scam!First time, through the **************** I received a call ONE DAY before my trip saying there might not be a car for me the next day because "ALL their premium SUVs have to be repaired for recalls". This sounds weird to me as there are typically at least two brands there, but I chose to believe them - only realized how **** I was after my 2nd experience. The next day when I showed ** in their office for picking up, the staff was like "we told you (yesterday) there is no premium SUV for you..." Obviously, I got no time to find a premium SUV rental from anywhere at that time, so I had to pick up what they offer, a mini van, and experienced a horrible trip.Should have learned a ****** but I didn't. Actually I did not even leave a negative review on my first experience as, again, I have believed what they said, until my 2nd booking last month. This time, they called me the day before telling me "everything is ready for my pickup"; however, when I showed ** in their *************** (I changed to a larger office hoping for better), the staff led me to a mini van although my reservation was a $250/day premium SUV! Only after I questioned, the staff admitted that they do not have premium SUV! Come on, not again!! I angrily refused their offer of a mini van, and realized that Enterprise has been playing the same trick probably all the time in all their offices. By the time you were told there is no large vehicle, it's already too late for you and you have to pick up whatever they offer, typically a mini van. Be aware!!!!!Enterprise Rent-A-Car

1 starOn 19 July 2022, at the *********** ** and waiting for the repair/insurance and rental ** to get their "act together" I finally picked up a car on said day. First impression...it was dirty, as mentioned to enterprise employee. He did not seemed **ncerned, and explained only to press on brake and button to start vehicle. Nothing mentioned about ...keep key w/ you to enter car. Also minor issue...the clock and date were non-existent. No mention about seat adjust or anything of safety I proceeded to destination..CA. Post surgery I needed to get back for treatment and rest. In route the "service engine soon" appeared. This is a unlimited mileage car. 1st stop was enterprise in **...about **ncerns and I had to return to CA enterprise a few times w/ issues. The ** office saw issues and reduced wkly rate. As I had to keep rescheduling a new wk. because of my vehicle repairs in **, I always asked when they would charge Navy/Fed. card. They always stated that it would be charged when car was returned. On the 22 of Aug. C.City enterprise charged Nav/Fed card ***** plus on a card worth *****. I was threatened to pay ****** on the 29th of Aug. or they were going to take it back. My *** pay **mes in of the first of every month, and the fact that they took over my Nav/Fed limit WITHOUT ANY NOTIFICATION by phone....email...text....or....any dialogue, it put me in the hole ****** and they would NOT wait until I got the *** 1 Sept payment....in three days. Both ***************** and the ********* ** office were extremely rude....unprofessional....like a bunch of "high school drop-outs with not clue of business. I kept strict documentation of the days and actions of this experience. I have shared this experience w/ others at the Base and my banker from Navy/Federal, and they have shared the same mistreatment. ALSO.....the vehicle had issues which I brought up the both ***************** and ********* ** office. THEY TOLD ME TO TAKE THE *** INTO THE *************** TO HAVE SERIOUS ISSUES FIXED.Review fromChris P

1 starI would give no stars if possible, but its not and I felt others deserve to hear my experience before doing business with Enterprise.I was involved in an accident, and the party who was at fault insurance company hooked me up with a free rental car while they worked on my case through Enterprise. The insurance company is the one who initiated the transaction and, between the insurance company and the fraudulent Enterprise, they conveniently and quite mysteriously removed the insurance company from the contract- stiffing me with the **** when I was told to turn the car in. I only accepted the vehicle because it was being provided for free. I would have never agreed to getting a rental car if I had to pay for it.**** and his manager both agreed that I was getting stiffed, and even said they would hold off processing anything so I could work this out with the insurance company, being that rent is due in a matter of days. They lied, as soon as I got home, I noticed they charged me the money. Its another scam. They team up with the insurance companies and ***** the customers. If anyone enters into a contract, they should be held liable, Mercury and Enterprise dont follow the same rules that they enforce upon the average customer. Use a different rental company that will honor contracts, and a company that will stick up for what is right.Review fromBrian M

This rental car experience has been by far the worst experience I have ever had. Initially requested a small SUV, verified by phone that the rental location had small SUVs. Arrived at location and was given sedan because they didnt any SUVs. I have long legs and my knees where in the dash. Was then told I could exchange sedan for a SUV at any Enterprise location by ***************** Only location open was the local airport, **************** said they have 5 or 6 SUVs to choose from. Drove to airport, only vehicle they had was a full-size Chevrolet Silverado 4x4 Quad Cab Pickup. I chose the vehicle where my knees were not in the dash (it was a 600-mile drive). After arriving at my destination, I learned that a full-sized pickup does not fit in most parking garages because of it size. Again, called ****************, again told to take it to any Enterprise location. I learned from my past mistake of believing ****************, so I called the locations. They would laugh when I told them what I was driving and would tell me that they couldnt exchange it because it was too big. Finally called the 800 number for broken down vehicles and was told to take it to ******************** Airport (***) about an hours drive from where I was staying, after arriving we told our story to ******* and he accepted the pickup and gave us a ****** Rouge. ****** was great. Over the course of renting 3 vehicles from Enterprise, I have learned that they have a critical communication problem. While **************** generally tries to help, they do not have accurate information and make promises that cannot be honored by the locations. This causes the customer to become very frustrated. I called **************** and individual locations over 20 times to get a vehicle. I understand that rental car companies have a shortage of vehicles because they excessively downsized during the pandemic. I do not think the pandemic is a valid excuse in this case. I contacted Enterprise oEnterprise Rent-A-Car

1 starI had a reservation at the location at *********** but was denied upon arrival because I questioned whether the person helping me was a Manager or not. Since then I have been unable to make any reservations and have resorted to other means of transportation. I have contacted multiple social media outlets about this issue and concern. I have contacted Enterprise Holdings as well as the location directly. No one returns my calls, voicemails or emails. This is how Enterprise/National treats their loyal customers. Executive Elite for many, MANY years. I'm in Rental cars for 250+ days a year, yet I'm not allowed to ask the title of a person who was later found out to not be the actual manager of the location, yet informed me that they were? Seems they should be the one suffering versus me. They got their feelings hurt and took it out on the customer. I have since informed my co-workers not to rent from any Enterprise Holdings Companies. It was suggested that I use this platform as an outlet for my issue as a formal complaint was filed online to no avail/response.
