      I went for the 20 ribeyes for 40$ and was pressured into spending 170$ sales rep kept pushing for more and more, the meat looked nice frozen I felt that I spent over my ideal amount but felt that it may be worth it since it was so much meat, when the meet thawed out it was grey and slimy did not look edible at all, the smell was off I’m like ok let just try it. It was some of the toughness steaks I had in my life, I feel scammed and feel bad for all the others in-line because we were all excited thinking we were getting a deal, this company needs to be stopped and people need to be warned.

      We went to a tent special on 4th of July 2023 here in *******, **. They had a big tent and truck set up in a parking lot in front of one of the stores. Heard about this great meat special. Supposed to be such a great quality of meat. Spent over $400 on one of their meat packages. Came home. Put everything in freezer. Most of this meat became inedible. Would thaw some to cook and when we went to cook once it was opened it had a foul bad odor, didn't look right at all. Had a gray sliver slimey look to it. Had to throw away. I have tried to contact them requesting a refund. I have had no luck in hearing back from anyone. I have sent emails with pictures of the bad meat. And also facebook messenger. Nothing. Terrible Terrible quality. This business is a scam. Should not be in business. I want a full refund and response from them.

I had received an email from the company about two weeks ago or so and I responded to their email with the answers to the questions they had along with pictures that I had originally sent to them.       I already complained about this business. Probably thanks to the BBB I finally got a response from them. They sent an email and I answered all of their questions and that was almost 2 months ago. I have even messaged on website and Facebook messenger and no response. How do I get them to respond. This business needs to be shut down. As I've mentioned in prior complaint is they are selling bad meats to the public...

      We purchased a box of steaks from the essential meat company at the *********** **** this weekend aug 13th. They are the worst steaks. We want to give them bs m and get out money back. They are not edible. There is no way to contact them. No email or phone #. I see there are many of complaints about this company .

      Purchased steaks and seafood. Upon opening the packages, horrible smell of rotten meat. The quality of meat was horrible and the meat is clearly bad and then frozen so the consumer doesn’t know that the meat has gone bad. I want a refund but no one will answer their phones.

      Essential Foods (Meat Around America) was selling meat at the Tractor Supply location in Edgewood, NM.

      On Friday July 28, 2023 I purchased a box of meat at 12:30 PM for$194.67 ($189.00 for the meat and a 3% credit card processing fee of $5.67)

      After the purchase transaction, the salesman offered to carry this large box to my car. This gave me the impression it was heavy. When I got home and went to lift it out of my car I found it to be really light.

      I added up the total weight of the packages and it was only 13.43 pounds of meat. The price per pound at $189.00 total was $14.07/lb or $14.495/lb at the total price of $194.67.

      I immediately returned the box of meat to the seller. I told him I was very upset at the price per pound and requested a refund. He refused to do so. He told me since I was angry he would not give me a refund, but would have given me a refund if I had been "polite". So his rationale for not refunding me since I was angry and upset is biased.

      I immediately called my bank to file a dispute. I left the meat there. I immediately emailed the company with my complaint. I have heard nothing in return from them.

      If I could give 0 stars I would. Hubby seen their ad on FB advertising $40 worth of ribeyes and were stationed in our mall parking lot. We decided to go check it out. I mean why not. With the cost of meats in the store, it could be worth it. Took a drive and checked it out. Left with close to $400 worth of meat. The sales guy layed out the ribeyes which looked good frozen and packed. Showed us more meats which yeah, they looked good frozen and packaged. And yeah, with today's prices in the grocery store, it seemed to be a pretty good deal. The guy even thru in a box of seafood for $100.00. Seafood looked good too. Left thinking that we got a decent deal. Get home and it filled up a good deal of our deep freeze. One of the boxes of meats we got consisted of 2 Tbones and then a couple boxes of New York Strips. Took out the Tbones for the hubby and myself and then a New York Strip for our child. Was pretty excited as we love steak and usually do them up while we are camping over an open fire but we were not camping so just did them on the grill. We let them thaw out and they were looking pretty good but then put them on the grill and the disappointinment began. When my hubby grills our steaks he likes to put diamonds on them and he couldn't even do that, they looked terrible and were terrible. He said they looked old and had aged bad. They tasted terrible. **** disappointment and especially for the money we paid. Glad we did not grill these over an open fire. The same can be said for the New York Strips, they were terrible as well. Our tummies were not happy with us, even our poor dog as we shared with her. I'll be honest, we haven't even tried the Seafood yet. Kinda hesitant as this seafood we are talking about and if the beef is like that, how can we be sure the seafood is going to be any better. We gave it a little time to try some other meat to try and give the benefit of the doubt and so far nothing tastes good. Very disappointing

      So we decided to check them out and a couple of friends also asked us to grab them each a box as well.When we arrived we told the two guys what we were looking to purchase and they gave us a talk about the beef and chicken box deal. My husband and I are on a fixed budget so we talked about it and decided to go ahead and purchase them thinking we would definitely benefit by putting some meat in the freezer.A few days after we received the meat we decided to fix the ** strips, we were very disappointed they were chewy and very fatty.A few days later we fixed the bourbon chicken I ended up having to spit out the chicken, it was awful. My husband who eats anything couldn&#**;t even eat it. So disappointed yet again.I have left a couple phone messages, several emails, several instant messages and started several live chats with no response on anything.We are so disappointed and unhappy.This letter is an attempt to hear back and hopefully get some resolution on this matter.If we do not hear back soon I will be going to the H333735363534353136**H adn have them reach out to handle this matter.

      I bought over $700 worth of meat from Essential Foods. It was advertised as “grass fed, grain finished”, without additives or hormones. All of the above was completely untrue. I can not eat wheat and wheat is listed as an ingredient. The meat looks absolutely awful after it is defrosted- it’s gray and slimy and the steak looks more like pork once it’s cooked. It is completely inedible!

      I have tried calling the number on the receipt, emailing them daily and contacting them via Facebook and have not gotten any kind of response. Their “refund” policy only allows for refunds for 24 hours - but they don’t respond to you within that time.

      A bit of research showed they have operated under multiple business names, likely because they can’t keep customers.

      I am rejecting this response because:



      The ingredients are all attached to this response. There is clearly wheat included as one of the ingredients on some of these. It is also full of other ingredients that are unhealthy, one of which I have an allergy to- carrageenan. I can not eat wheat nor can I eat carrageenan due to allergy. The meat is also mechanically tenderized which was not disclosed prior to the sale. This meat is absolutely NOT grass fed. I would like to see proof of the claim that it is grass fed. 

      If I am not fully refunded for this “meat” I will be contacting my lawyer and will progress forward with this in any way necessary.

      I bought a package of meats from meats across America for a total of $297.67. I asked the gentleman at the time if the chicken was salty he told me no. My package included steaks, hamburger, lemon chicken, chipotle chicken, plain chicken, and chicken tenders. When I cooked the ribeyes they tasted very dry and like eating dog food. I gave the lemon chicken a try it was like eating a salt shaker it was so salty I could not eat it. We then tried the thicker pieces of ribeyes which I highly doubt is a true ribeye steak. I feel I was conned by what I was buying the quality is gross and my family members are also wondering if it’s caused us to have diarrhea so is the safety of this neat there. I tried texting the number that sent he my receipt with no response . I’ve also tried calling the phone number but all it states is the mailbox is full. I am a single mother living on a Paraprofessional salary. I buy all my groceries and can not afford to waste money and that is what I did because we will no longer be eating the meats after the experience I’ve had.

      Purchase was made on 6/9/23 at Rockingham Plaza in Salem,NH
      Advertising 20 ribeyes for $40. Also purchased the beef,chicken and pork packages. All products were of poor quality. Steak was small ,grizzly and tough. Chicken fell apart upon thawing and opening . Pork appearing to be loins actually were small bite sized and compressed to look like one whole piece when frozen. Everything looked good when presented as frozen . Once thawed out and cooked was very disappointing. Spent $420.70 for this mess . Transaction was processed as Better Beef Brandswebb city MO . I. My opinion the meat version of a traveling circus. Tried to reach out but had no success. I have no use for this,at all. Had a family barbecue and was very embarrassed. Is there any recourse in getting a refund?

      After such disappointment all I get for a resolution is "no refund". Just what am I supposed to do with this grizzly garbage?

      We as consumers pay for a quality product and expect it to be at best edible. I even tried to use the chicken to make chicken salad and it was disgusting. I would at least expect half of the $400+ dollars I spent back. I can't be the only complaint you have received. I would even be more than happy to return the remaining product, which is most of it, since it is only taking up valuable space in my freezer.
