1 starMy Mother-in-law had the absolute worst experience today at a local take 5 oil change location in nky. She is 73 years old living on a fixed income and went to get an oil change. She asked how much it would be before they began to work on her vehicle and was told it's was 49$. After work was completed they gave her a 98$ bill. She was upset and asked why it was so much more than what they originally told her. They replied with that's just how much it is. After the worker said that he had another person walk over. He asked what the issue was and after she explained it to him he said that she was lying and that she had to pay the 98$. She said I am not lying and asked to speak to the manager. He said I am the manager then she asked to speak to his boss he replied with and I quote "this is my f'n store I am the f'n boss" then threatened to call the police if she didn't pay. She was now crying and said I shouldn't be charged double what was told before the work was started and instead of informing me that the price was going to be more you just did it and now I can barely afford it. He replied with if you cant pay we can call the cops. Then they did call the police even though she did end up paying and that scared her to death. She said the sheriff was absolutely nice to her and she was so thankful for that. this entire situation is absolutely disgraceful and disgusting how an elderly women can be treated so badly. I've called corporate multiple times leaving a voicemail and wrote on there website and have not received one reply. Maybe if some light can be shared on this situation it will stop others from having to go through such a demeaning experience.Review fromWendy S

1 starThe employees work ***** hours a day with no break for lunch or just a 15 minute break so they work all day without food. And being in ***** at 103 degree heat not a safe environment. Owners of the company don't care if you have a heat stroke. Just as long as you work in that heat. This company is not a good company to work for they do not care about their employeesReview fromRyan H

1 starBeware. This business seems to be a scam. Very unprofessional and they definitely don't stand behind their work. Extremely overpriced. They actually broke my oil fill cap which allowed most of the oil to escape the engine. Because of this I had engine parts break. I called corporate and they informed me that the franchise stores have nothing to do with them. The management at the ****** location denied any wrong doing, even though I had a 3rd party mechanic verify the cause of the engine damage. Zero integrity. Do yourself a favor and go anywhere else to get an oil change. Worst business place EVER!!!!Review fromAdam K

1 starI went to Take 5 oil change ************************* in ********* on May 24 2023. Previous time I went they lost my windshield washer fluid cap. I went on May 24 for an oil change air filter, and oil filter change. Was told they couldnt do anything about the windshield wiper fluid cap. No big deal. Shortly after I left my check engine light came on. My air conditioner was blowing hot air intermittently . I got a code reader that came in a week later and I was getting several knock sensor problem codes. I was seen by a mechanic on June 7 who stated that the knock sensor wiring was pinched in the oil filter housing. This caused my check engine light to come on and prob the A/C problems. This was directly related to the technician that changed my oil filter. Over **** dollars in damages. Thanks take 5. I have contacted the company via email andsurvey and no one has got back to me.Review fromJewel M

1 starWent in to the take 5 as always to get my oil changed never had an issue before Ive been going there for years. But for some reason on this morning I went in for a simple oil change and the lady who changed my oil was supposed to be a manager so I assumed she knew what she was doing she used the vac to **** out my oil which had never been used on my car before. Then she changed my oil and filter. So the next day when I get in my car to start up my car is making a tapping noise mind u my car wasnt making no noise before this oil change so I returned to take 5 but the lady who serviced my car wasnt there so I spoke to another manager and he told me that she didnt know what she was doing and she didnt **** out all of the old oil before adding in the new oil. At this point Im furious so I was told to return the next day and that she would be there. When I returned the next day she wasnt there so they dropped the oil and put new oil in that didnt work. So I came in the next day she was there of course she acted like she had no clue to what was going on so she made a phone call to get some mystery oil to add to my car so she dropped the oil once again add the mystery oil and refilled my car again then I was told to drive it for two days and return if ts still making the same noise well guess what two days later I was back again this time she supposedly talk to her manager and made a claim I never spoke to anyone nor did seen any claim paper but I was told that the manager over the store would call me by the end of the day which never happened what I got was some bs story about he was to busy to call and that I had to fix my own problem after watching videos he decided to call me what video? This place is full of s#%< they mess up your vehicle then dont wanna take responsibility for what they did what they need to know is that they cant keep getting away with messing up people vehicles then acting like its our fault. Im never dealing with these people againReview fromMargarita O

1 starEventually, I was helped (more like herded) by a gentleman who was EXTREMELY irritable. I get it, we're all human. But he just kept adding on the layers. Everyone has bad days and people **** sometimes (yes, including the customers). Never mind the initial LONG wait.. what is NOT understandable, NOR acceptable is the fact that I concluded my oil change, then literally made it only THREE MILES up the road before losing the front half end of my skid plate due to it being poorly attached. I was now stranded. Meanwhile, the Take 5 technician advised me to drive the car anyway, metal scraping and sparks flying... No sir. That's not safe. This 5 minute oil change turned into a 3.5-4 hour ordeal, with my husband and I rolling around in a gas station parking lot just to be safe to drive the car! Once I finally made it back SAFELY, the Take 5 technician who was so seething -also the one who failed to secure the skid plate- ultimately ended up just slapping on some zip ties. This guy needs a new job pronto! I won't be back. Oh and with respect to how many characters I can include here... it ACTUALLY gets better. Possibly, the second wait was so much worse because they were also working on another vehicle that had been damaged in a separate bay!! Something about a broken off dip stick. Sounds like a real pain! Two in one day! Not great! Nonetheless, our full time investment for our **** minute oil change is as follows: initial wait time: ~30 minutes; initial service time: ~15 minutes; vehicular failure and evaluation: ~45 minutes; second wait time at establishment to be greeted: 1.5 hours; second wait time at establishment to actually drive off: ~30 minutes. That is roughly 3.5 HOURS of unnecessary roughness, y'all. And I am being kind on that time valuation. HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE!Review fromLea L

1 starBasic oil change and replacement filter should be no problem, right?I got mine done recently with Take five off Bell roads new location. A day later I noticed my car having issues right before all major bills were due and I was hurt as I'm also a ridershare driver. I called my trusted mechanic business (Anyplace Auto) and they couldn't see me until the end of the week (so I couldn't work). It only took him a few minutes before deducting it was probably the air filter ...brand newly installed air filter from Take five. I purchased a new air filter from the dealership and had my certified professional install it. Car runs like it's brand new. I take my barely used filter back to take five and the manager tells me there's nothing they can do since someone else touched their work. What a joke! Let me say basic services are not basic when they cost you over $1000 in late fees, lack of working, and car repair fees. I ask, if you can s**** up something so basic, what else are you liable to damage and take no responsibility?I will also say I'm a ridershare Driver with over ****** rides under my belt and a 4.99 out of 5 rating. I belong to several rideshare groups around the nation. I'll be a driver on top of my profession for a while, which gives me plenty of time to share my experiences with my passengers and my groups.Below is a picture of the cheap air filter that was shoved into my car incorrectly, bending it and causing my sensors to go off and almost ruined my car. Needless to say, their neglect will just be a negative story shared among thousands of people around the country.
