After five months of working with Merrill Edge to transfer my foreign assets from a German brokerage account to my Merrill Edge account, they suddenly told me that they can't accept two of my securities. When I spoke to Merrill Edge about opening an account with them and having my assets transferred, they said they could transfer these. After a non-existing communication where Merrill Edge didn't do sh%4t and the manager who was responsible for my case was pretty unresponsive, they told me out of the blue that they can't accept all of my securities. In the meantime, I lost $18k due to the currency conversion going bad. When I made the manager of my case aware of that he just said sorry and that he understands if I want to go with a different firm. Like wth?! In correspondence between the foreign asset team at Merrill Edge and the German brokerage firm I received later, I could further see that the German firm had multiple times requested information that Merrill Edge never responded to. In fact, because they were completely unresponsive for two months, the contra firm canceled my entire transfer process and we had to start over again. The best part about this horrible experience is that the securities they are claiming that they can't accept, are the accept same securities that my sister had transferred to Merrill Edge from that same German firm. Overall horrible customer service and I would never recommend ****** Edge to anyone.Bank of America

I deposited a $5000 cashiers check from Navy Federal to my account on August 5, 2022. I was told by the cashier that the funds would be available August 6, 2022. When my funds were not available I called your customer service line.I talked to one service rep, a supervisor and manager whom explained that there was a 10 day hold on my certified funds. I explained to them the following: Federal regulations require banks to make funds deposited in an account by cashier's, certified, or teller's checks available for withdrawal not later than the business day after the banking day on which the deposit takes place, the same as for cash deposits, but only if certain conditions are met. The deposit must be made in person to the payee's own account and, if the bank requires it, with a special deposit slip or envelope (12 CFR 229.10(c) (v)). If the bank requires a special deposit slip and the customer does not use it, the bank can treat it like a regular personal check, which must be available on the second business day after deposit for local checks and the fifth business day for nonlocal checks. Banks can also hold checks beyond this time for (1) new accounts, (2) aggregate amounts over $5,000 deposited in any one day, and (3) other limited special conditions. On the other hand, banks can have a policy of holding the check for less time than the federal maximum. In fact, some banks make the checks you asked about available immediately. My deposit was made in person using their special deposit slip to my own personal account, was not an aggregate amount over $5000 in any one day, and is not a new account. The customer service manager whom I spoke to last only kept telling me that despite what Im saying, which is the federal guideline aforementioned, Bank of America would not change the 10 day hold even in violation of federal guidelines and then hung up the phone in my face.Bank of America

Because of a erroneous email sent to me by Bank of America, I inadvertently made a duplicate payment on my account. For over 45 days, they have been in the process of refunding my $50k. They claim to have sent it to a third party to return to me. They are sleazy and disreputable.Bank of America

Originally I added my checking account to my online **** pay. I accidentally left the wrong account number so I went in and changed the account number. ********************** collected the first payment and then froze my online **** pay . I spoke with 5 different Associates including a supervisor over a period of 2 months, totaling 4 hrs and 20 minutes. They all told me the same thing, that the account would be unfrozen and I would be able to use my online **** pay. But unfortunately it is still frozen. I have never in 57 years dealt with such incompetence, I mean honestly. Its not like Im asking these people to part the Red Sea. Just unlock my **** pay. I will never have any association with this bank again. The people at the top should be ashamed of themselves, but I realize they could care less.Bank of America

1 starMy name is ***************************************, on July 13th I got a call from a scammer, he said he was from Xfinity, he sent me email. He said he saw fraudulent charges he was helping me to prevent it. I gave him my debit card info. This person helped himself to ********* out of my checking account through my debit card. On July, 14th I woke at 1am, I looked at my BOA online banking my money was gone. I called the fraud center for BOA, the charges were still be processed, I told her what happened and. Asked if she reverse the charges she said, no. I keep calling the that department. I keep getting answers like its still in review on Tuesday the 19th of July I called again, I told them Im filing a police report, I did I had to wait until the until the 21st which was Thursday, I called the claims department and told them I fax the report and, the email to them. Do know I checked my account and, they closed the claim, after the fact they knew I gonna faxed it them, I had to claims department again. To reopen this case, I filed a report with the *** and, the **** and, reported it, I heard one time since from the fraud department, I go to the bank in *******,** up there at that bank they are so rude. I was up there making a deposit and, the cashier was so rude. I just want my money back, Im prepared to get legal assistance to take them to court if I have to. They didnt ask for a police report, I told I was getting, they have the nerve to thank me for getting them the info they need. Yet here I am waiting, what do they need to take more time to review this is beyond me. I want my money back, its going on month already. If anyone should ask about Bank Of America. Ill tell the truth dont open an account here.Review fromShantel O

1 starIt does not let us leave zero stars but I would. After making 72 on time payments Bank of American lowered my credit limit by $600 for making an on time payment that was $9 short, yes my error but the next payment paid that and the fees and a little more just in case. The representatives (if you are patient enough and have about 22 minutes to wait on hold to actually speak with a person) that work there can literally answer only what they see in front of them. They have no power to make any decisions or cognitively think for themselves. Waited on hold for a manager for another 18 minutes before I hung up. That does not include the wait time to speak with a person.Review fromcherie j

I recently enrolled in automatic payments with my Bank of America credit card in order to automatically pay my balance each month. (I was previously doing so by phone every month.) After my last statement cycle closed, I received refunds on purchases, which zeroed out my statement balance. Bank of America automatically withdrew the amount of my last statement balance (over $6,000) from my checking account, even though my actual balance was zero. I called Bank of America on the day the withdrawal was made from my checking account (7/25/22), and I was told that I needed to wait until my Bank of America account received the funds. That happened the next day (7/26/22), so I called again and requested an ACH refund. Today is 8/4/22, and I am still awaiting my refund. I spoke to a supervisor today, who told me that because my checking account is not a Bank of America account, they have to wait 10 days to issue the refund for "fraud purposes." (I have been making payments to BOA from this account for over a decade.) There was no other way to escalate this matter or expedite my refund; Bank of America is just going to keep my $6,000+ for 10 days, despite the fact I did not owe them any money. By contrast, my wife's credit card company only auto withdraws the remaining statement balance, so Bank of America could operate that way but chooses not to do so. I have been a Bank of America customer for over 20 years and have always paid my statement balance each month, and I think it is outrageous to do business this way.Bank of America
