      Aquarion Asset management contacted me about an old loan I owed according to them. They use scare tactics about legal process and paying of $.3,000. I got scared and confused and I had a loan before with World Finance so I thought perhaps they sold it to them. However that not the case and this is a scam. I paid 181 know January 19 and had four more payments scheduled.

      I am rejecting this response because: this business has not provided copies of original documentation requested within 30 days via US Certified Mail in accordance with the Federal Fair Credit Reporting Act and the Federal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act. This request was made on 10.23.23 via email (attached) as their reps talk over you, are aggressive & threatening & wont answer questions. 

      Additionally, the company they claim was the original debtor EZCorp ******* has already verified on 10/23/23 via ref #****** that they have no record of ever doing business with me nor any records of anyone with my identity ever taking out a loan or owing them money from a loan. This info was provided to Aquarion Asset Management LLC in my email dated 10.23.23.

      According to the ***** EZCorp and its subsidiary companies were legally ordered out of the payday and installment loan business in 2015. They were also ordered to STOP all collections on all remaining payday and installment loan debt and were banned from selling any of that debt to third party collectors. A complaint has also been filed with the **** regarding this matter on both companies.

I advised that I called EZCorp reference #****** & they verified via my personal info that they have no records of having any financial dealings with me or anyone with my identity owing them money. She (*******) also said that this is most likely a scam as they have been out of this loan business for over a decade & were legally ordered to not only stop all remaining debt collections for payday or installment loans, but were also banned from selling any remaining debt to any third party debt collectors. I noted that any further attempts to collect this UNVERIFIED Debt by telephone to myself, my job or family members (they contacted my niece that day) will be considered harassment. Since then, I get multiple robocalls daily from different #s. 1/16/24, I rcvd a VM from a rep ending in today they will be reaching out to my financial ****************** I have not received documentation requested via US certified mail as requested over 30 days ago.

      I am rejecting this response because:
      I contacted the company & the only documents that I was provided was a settlement agreement from Aquarian stating I had an account with EZ Payday.  I refuse to pay anything to a collection agency unless I am provided the ORIGINAL loan information from the ORIGINAL lender.  Also, I was told this supposed debt incurred in 2013 which if provided proof I will not be paying because it is a 11 year old debt.  It is not or never has been on my credit report & if proof is provided it was fraudulently obtained.  I am requesting that this company CEASE & DESIST with any further phone calls to me or I will be forced to take legal action on my part to stop cease communication with them.

      I am rejecting this response because:
      Again, I refuse to entertain paying a debt without being provided original documentation from the company Aquarian stated this debt was purchased from. This debt could possibly have been a fraudulent debt & I certainly will not pay entertain settling a debt without original paperworks. Also this debt is dated 2011 which is beyond the 7 yr statue, therefore I am not interested in communicating with Aquarian any further.  They are to Cease & DESIST any communication with me, however I am still requesting they provide original paperwork from EZ Payday because Im quite sure they will be unable to provide.

      I received a call from their number today and called back to speak with a representative. They told me that I had taken out a Payday loan in 2015 from a company called EZ Money EZ corp. They had my last 4 of my SSN and said that I had taken out a $450 payday loan into an account I hadn't used since 2010 (loan date was 2015) and paid $100 before I stopped making payments and now owed $900.A simple search shows that EZ Corp is no longer collecting any debts and haven't since 2015 and note on their BBB responses that any collection claiming to be them is a scam and should be reported to the authorities.This company is just trying to confuse people into paying money. Maybe next time they should choose a company who's first ****** result is that they no longer are collecting debts.

      I am rejecting this response because the business still has yet to prove that this is a valid debt. Every time I call them about it, they hang up on me and refuse to provide any information other than they have already proceeded with the wage garnishments, lien, and other threats that they claim to already have court orders in place to do. Never once, have I been served nor anything else has taken place. If AAM truly did have proof of this debt that EZCorp EZ Money states that I do not owe, they would be able to provide it. Which is another thing I have inquired. Instead AAM becomes hostile and argumentative but still refuses to show proof.

I also spoke with *** from EZCORP and she too has confirmed that I have never been one of their customers and advised me the same thing that ****** suggested to me through the BBB. I advise anyone that is getting harassed by these scammers to NOT pay anything and to contact law enforcement, your state ************************** **** FRCB, and write a review on these scam artist. While I am know my rights, I am concerned that there are those that will panic and pay these scammers for something that they never had.

      I am rejecting this response because: I am disputing this debt and have written them a letter which I have attached here. I need a physical address of this business so I can have a certified letter sent to them as the ************* ************** cannot and does not send certified return receipt letters to PO Boxes as they cannot prove the intended party received it. I will proceed forward with complaints to government agencies for unfair debt collection practices.
