I was overcharged exuberantly for my December 22 - January 23 bill. Their customer service representatives were of no help and seemed like they had no idea what they were doing. This company is fraudulent. Whats sad is there is nothing you can really do or your services is disconnected. I couldnt even get a extension. I live in a one bedroom/bath apartment that is less than ***** square feet. In what world would someone living in a 1/1 pay $260+ for just ONE months bill? I have family and friends who have homes with 4+ bedrooms who paid the same amount as me that month. I even compared my bill from last year during a similar time period and came no where near $260+. Disgusting! BEWARE THEY WILL PRICE ***** AND LEAVE YOU WITH NO OTHER OPTION BUT TO PAY THEIR EXPENSIVE CHARGE. THEY WILL PUT A STRAIN ON YOUR FINANCES!!

Duke Energy does not follow their own disconnection procedures. My daughter's power was shut off after non-payment for 8 months and their policy is after 2 missed bills the power is to be shut off. See their policy here: ************************************************************************************************************* I mean, I paid it because I don't want her to freeze, but it would have been much less of a financial strain if they would have done this after 2 missed payments instead of waiting 8 months and telling us that they wanted $1,600 before turning her power back on. Also, demanding payment in full instead of a few installments seems unreasonable, especially when they didn't adhere to their own internal procedures.

This company is nothing but dictatorship, so many fees they charge people don't even know what a shame, paying bills online will charge me $8.50 just to digress.

My light bill has been over 330$ 2 months in a row even though I have used propane heat as a supplement the past month. This energy company is literally putting customers into debt for their own greed. How are we supposed to pay these bills?

I own a vacation place in **************, **. My prior bills have been $39.87 Oct 2022, Nov $ *****, Dec $79.84, Jan $386.54. My bill has tripled for this billing cycle and we did not even visit during this cycle and have not added any new appliances or changes for our bill to triple. We turn the power off with the exception of the refrigerator and the window unit for heat but we turn it down as low as it will go. This bill is 3 times higher than our higher month usage for last Jan also. Contacted them and of coarse they said the meter was working fine, and no further actions were offered. How do we handle this or who do we contact for help.

I currently rent an apartment. When I was getting my electrical service account for the apartment set up I was being hounded by some sales girl trying to sell promotions. I made it VERY clear repeatedly that I was no way, shape or form interested in their "Home Wiring Protection Program" since I am RENTING I am not responsible for wiring maintenance. However they added it to my account anyway and even though I have documented multiple calls trying to cancel this service that I declined in the first place, I am still being charged every month. It has taken a lot of minutes and peace away from me trying to get get this removed from my account since I have spent great lengths on the phone multiple times, being assured by the multiple different Duke Energy customer service representatives that the service will be cancelled and it NEVER is. Plus they are literally stealing my money every month. So how many other people are they stealing from every month? I bet it is an extraordinary amount. Guess it's time to seek legal counsel and see if I can recover the money they are literally stealing every month for no service rendered.

How are you going to make customers pay for YOUR SYSTEM'S ERROR??? My bill has went up 3 times the amount I paid in October, from $139 to $205 (just re-evaluate again) and now $212 stating it was another error!!! Is the *** that incompetent or is he/she just a greedy scammer, scamming the public. In the midst of soaring inflation and on a verge of a recession this company just had to find a way to s**** more customers out of more money. It is inbelieveable the way this company rips people off juse because we have no other optiion for electric.NOT A HAPPY CUSTOMER!!

Duke Energy protection plans are not free, therefore, I expect value for my money and attention when a repair is needed. I called Duke energy Wednesday morning because I had no heat. The temperature at night was ********************************************************* answered the phone. I suppose I will have to wait several more days. This is not the first time this had happened. Duke protection plan personnel and the vendors they work with could care less.

This electric company *****. On one of the coldest days of the year they decide to perform blackouts with temperature at 9 degrees. It's been 6 hours and no restoration or notification. I'm sure all the executives and CEO never participate in a blackout. All the money they collect and it's all about stocks not infrastructure. This should be inhumane to turn off electric when there's no issue in your area. I have cancer among other health issues and this is just unacceptable.
