      Absolutely atrocious policies, horrible customer service, and a true monopoly. Its not like we can do anything about it either because **** holds all the energy contracts around here. Its been 6 months since ****** and were STILL experiencing random black outs, power outages at least 3 times a month, and they cant seem to give a c*** They arent preventative with anything and just wait for things to break before they actually perform repairs. But our bill keeps going up.

      The worst company ever, instead of helping a customer when going throught tuff time they charge you ridiculously ***** **** & add insane extra deposits for you struggling just because they have a manopoly were they are the only energy company allowed in the area. Wish florida goverment actually stop all this service providers manopoly and let the customer have options when it comes to there services. My bill when from $250 to $860 after a stupid deposit for paying my bill late a couple time while unemployee. Sad

      Had a horrible customer service experience here. Called to set up service on our new house, that went through fine. But then, was passed off to another representative to tell me about "promotions". She insisted that I sign up for internet telling me that I must sign up, I refused 4 TIMES, very directly, saying I wanted to research and speak with my husband first. She would not accept no for an answer and I was afraid to hang up because she had the final power to start my electric service. In hindsight, I should've hung up and called back to get a different person, but I had already been on the phone for an hour at this point.

      Duke Energy has been bullying me as a customer. They send no communications about my electricity being cut off prior to them coming out and cutting it off. I lost my job and have been struggling to pay my bills and they have zero remorse and instead they charge me $280 extra bc they turned my electricity off without warning. - I just received an email 5 days ago that has a prior balance and my new balance combined and it says that it is due April 3rd. So why then did my electricity just get cut off without any notice? I just called their pathetic customer service department and they wont turn my electricity back on. I wont have a way to pay until tomorrow. So NO WARNING about electricity being cut off, just a bill that says total amount due by April 3rd and OH BY THE WAY IF YOU DONT PAY THE PRIOR AMOUNT DUE BY SOME RANDOM DAY OF OUR CHOICE THEN WERE SECRETLY GOING TO CUT YOUR ELECTRICITY OFF WITHOUT YOUR KNOWLEDGE (For the 2nd Time and then well charge you another $280 for that - shhhhhh thats only for us to know and then tell you sorry you should have known that having a prior balance means we will cut the electricity at some point) ***Duke Energy are CROOKS AND CLOWNS ??????

      I would give this company negative stars if I could. I am a college student living in a college apartment with one roommate. We are extremely conscious of conserving our energy (ie. turning off all lights, keeping the temp at 68, unplugging EVERYTHING from outlets), so tell me why our electric bills are nearly $400! That is absolutely insane and this company is stealing our money. Something needs to be done because I will not stand for this any longer. Please somebody help.

      I had signed up for Duke Energy's budget billing program in hopes of saving money on my electric bill and a better budget throughout the calendar year. Overall I was able to do so and looked to continue this trend the following year. To my surprise, I was sent a $898 bill for February after paying a budget amount of $69. Seeing this I called Duke Energy customer service and asked for an explanation of this price increase. I explained that in the text of the bill I did see the monthly bill would be calculated to $132 and the customer service representative stated that it should be that and not the $898. With that information I proceeded on, only to see that my bank account had been charged the $898 price. I reached out to DE and spoke with another representative who stated that the charge would stay and nothing could be done. As it stands, I have upcoming bills for March that will be affected with no resolution of getting back on track until the latter part of the month. For **** to have this program with the name "budget" this feels far from it. If anyone from DE reads this review some upfront transparency with this plan for your customers would be greatly appreciated.

      Someone needs to report this company. I discriminated against by a supervisor. He treated me like I was not the account holder and was trying to get into someone else's account. I verified all my information, and he still decided to discuss issues unrelated to what I was calling for. I never got my questions answered, and he must have put a message under my account because the next representative did the same thing.

      My power bill has doubled and I'm not doing anything different. Heat /ac pump stays on 75 24/7. This is ridiculous . Now I'm turning it off as I leave for work and checking my usage daily.

      Someone needs to report this company. They are price gouging after hurricane ******. Our electric constantly goes out and yet we have the highest bill we ever had. Its a monopoly of a company that cares less about their customer.

      If I could give a zero or negative star review, I would. Ive NEVER paid this much for electricity in my life. My current bill is $525 for a 1300 square foot home. ********** heater/lights & normal appliances. Nothing crazy. Were mindful of the thermostat and turning lights off/unplugging unused appliances. Yet still, high prices year round. The people running this company and making so much profit should be ashamed.
