      I am the only person who occupies my two bedroom, fairly new stick built home. I have watched my bill increase over the last 3 months yet not changing anything to cause this increase. It has become a great concern when before Halloween of 2024 my bill was barely $200 now in January of 2025 my bill is now $800 a month. Even a large rate increase wouldn't solve this mystery.

      Duke power shut off power without prior notice for an upgrade it was off for 6 hours. I was not able to get car out of garage, missed an appointment and unable to work from home without internet. Lost day of wages and inconvenienced. There are only 4 houses on my street and when I spoke with *******, he said they do not have to give notice if less than 10 homes are affected except doorbell ring right before power is cut. This is unacceptable and bad policy. I spoke with 2 people at customer service and a supervisor that all did not care and offered no assistance or compensation. If there was an alternative power company, I would be calling right now. This is the problem with monopolies, they simply could care less. Shame on you Duke Power you should treat people better than this and you should make sure Every customer is alerted before you do something this drastic that could affect their business or life. Just glad no one on my street depended on oxygen or some other medical device or they would not have survived.

      I just moved from a home I was in for 10 years 1300 sqft to a 600 sqft apartment. My first bill was twice as high as any **** ive ever gotten before. I called because I felt my meter was crossed with nextdoor which is a 2 bedroom and more people living there. It has been a living nightmare getting someone to help me. 4 months later I finally get someone that opens a case for me to verify my meter but they also cant update me. The supervisors Ive spoken with act like they have no compassion or empathy and are frankly the rudest people Ive ever spoken with. You get told something different with each agent you speak to. Nasty company.

      Register with Duke Energy for water heater/repair for my home, after 30 days, **** provided a nice new water heater, plumbed it up, however, the wire from heater to panel box was unsafe, suggested to contact electrical company. Duke energy also has home essential wiring program, signed up for that, waited another 30 days, then requested wire repair. Recieved call from electrical company, stating 'no coverage for, wire from water heater to panel box, however, would provide 15% discount on cash pay. Called Duke Energy, about 'no coverage', ***********, water heater wiring, considered 'preexisting condition', not covered! After two months, no hot water, plus seven months before that. My water heater, was also a 'preexisting condition', due to being beyond repair, but was *********** fixed income prevents me from hiring electrician, a single wire, keeps me from having hot water. Please advise.Respectfully Submitted, ***** *********

      Duke energy had our meter switched with our neighbor. I was paying my ********* **** for a year. My neighbors energy bill was much higher than we use, but we were paying his bill. **** fixed the problem but refuses to give our money back or even credit our account. I have been dealing with this for a year now. I want my money back. I am a single mother. When they want their money they get!!! But try getting your money back from them!!! You dont

      Duke energy came onto my property today, outside of "planned pruning timeframes", and cut down my trees--ones they had already recently assessed and determined were not an issue with regard to power cables--without so much as a word to me or my husband, and then they left a 6-foot high pile of limbs and debris in my yard (also without so much as a word to me).

      I recently moved out of state and called Duke Energy to get a check reissued to my current address. My address was different, my name has changed, my account was closed, and yet both people I spoke to worked their hardest to help me and were very kind and patient, even when things were not working. I am so grateful for the great customer service and support from both ***** and the woman who helped me after and I feel badly I cant remember her name!!!! Would recommend duke energy to anyone!!!! They have the best employees!!!!

      , I'm having a situation with SC Duke energy . My home burned down in January 2021, which led us to losing our home. I immediately called all my providers to disconnect the services and sent over my proof of fire report. I spoke to a rep from duke and they said the services would be disconnected . Recently, I was told no one called, and that the service was never disconnected. I have gone back and forth with reps about these situations and finally today a lady named Mattie said to email business services @ duke energy, which I did as well. I explained there was no home on the property but yet the meter was still running, not sure why the meter was never disconnected. I now got a new home on my property in July 2024, and they want to charge me with a 6000 bill. Attached is the report of the fire, please advise on what I should do next. They are trying to disconnect my services, I'm a mom of 9, female veteran with a small business. I had to restart my whole life from scratch due to this fire, there are 2 accounts . I opened the account in July and have been paying the bill on time with no issues. Now comes December Duke, wants to bring the old bill into my new account. I would like to get this issue resolved because I'm being harassed and threatened if I dont pay my bill. I won't be able to get anyone else to open an account with this address. They are trying to intimidate me and a man called me yelling at me saying I better pay this bill. Even after I explained my home burned down, he didn't care , did not show any type of human decency. I need your assistance with this situation. Hope to hear from you soon.

      THEY WILL STALL ON GENERATING YOUR DEPOSIT REFUND, & THE CUSTOMER SERVICE IS COMPLETE TRASH!!! RUDE!!!!
