Update.... The lone man pictured who booted cars of people who parked in ***** parking lot, shopped and then crossed the street to ********* just left ********* and walked to his car parked in ***** parking lot.....shouldn't he boot himself. I watched him leave with his breakfast and coffee.. Watch out for these guys at **************************** parking lot. Stalking people and booting cars for 250. The 2 together follow you around and play as if they were booted and they tried to contact a lawyer but it did no good. They even follow into the shops. Extremely shady and creepy. Either way you know you aren't safe and you just got robbed.Business Response

We dont have two guys working at that property, there was only one so unfortunately your story is not adding up. We are authorized to be there and obviously you were not a customer and parked and went elsewhere. Please follow the parking rules as signs are posted throughout the property stating the rules and fees for violators.Initial Complaint

My car was booted when it shouldnt have been. Signage was posted for customer parking only to the right but no signage near my spot or the 3 spots to my right or left therefore I should have been okay to park there. No warning or ticket was given. I was given a boot and had to pay $275 to have it removed with no option to dispute the charges and no number or email to call or write. This was not illegal parking and did not require a permit which was both written in my boot removal notice. This company has many reviews for scams like this and $275 for a boot removal with no warning is incredibly steep for no reason.Business Response

Signage is posted at each entrance to the property and that is all thats required per city ordinance. The other signs you mentioned throughout the property were extra signs added as a courtesy. You left the property to go elsewhere and where not a customer at that time is the reason your vehicle was booted. Signs do not have to be in front of each individual space only the entrances to the property. Going forward please pay attention to those signs and follow the parking rules to avoid being booted or towed.Initial Complaint

I was parked in a parking lot for a store and received a boot on my car. I was in the stores for maybe 2 hours. The employee for Wheel Blockers made me feel extremely uncomfortable. Calling me dumb and saying that I cannot read. When I read the sign out loud for him he started raising his voice and continued with the rude comments.Business Response

Unfortunately you must have parked illegally and went elsewhere to be booted. Yes signs are posted stating the parking rules and fees for violators. After speaking with our employees they all stated they have no reason to be rude with anyone as you stated its usually the other way around as most people arent happy to be booted or towed. We apologize for any inconvenience but please follow the parking rules to avoid this type of situation.Initial Complaint

My car was towed last night. When I arrived at the lot, I was told some would open the lot withing 20 minutes. This was around 10:40PM. They stopped answering the phone and no one ever arrived so I left after an hour. They continue topnotch answer the phone so I am unable to retrieve my vehicle. They are supposedly open 25 hours but are unreachable.Business Response

On Saturday 1/25 I drove from out of town and planned to eat at the *********************** on 7th and Pecan. I parked and had to pick up paperwork right across the street which I did. On my way back my vehicle was booted. I tried to explain to the parking enforcement staff that I was on my way to eat at the Cafe as a customer. They immediately threatened to tow my car if I refused to pay the $250 fine even though I was on my way to lunch as a customer. When I called the number listed on the sign their excuse was that I left the premises. Nowhere does the sign say you can't step foot out of the parking lot. I repeatedly tried to reason and ask how could I prove that I am indeed a customer and the answer was that my vehicle would be towed and "I'm not a mind reader". I left because at that point I was afraid to be towed while eating at the Cafe. He was extremely antagonistic and made a point that my accent was bothering him.Business Response

Once you leave the property you are not a customer of the businesses on site which resulted in your vehicle being booted. Signs are at every entrance and throughout the property stating parking is for those businesses only. We apologize for any inconvenience but unfortunately parking is very limited and those are the parking rules.Initial Complaint

I am writing to formally lodge a complaint against Wheel Blockers, a towing company that has exhibited predatory and unethical practices. My specific incident occurred on Wednesday, January 22, 2025, at approximately 1 PM, in the parking lot adjacent to my apartment complex. On this day, my apartment complexs parking lot was completely full, with many spaces taken by vehicles belonging to employees of businesses connected to my building and the one next door. Due to this, I parked in the adjoining lot. Shortly after, Wheel Blockers booted my car. The employee who booted my car acknowledged that he knew I lived in the apartment complex and was aware that unauthorized cars were parked in my lot. Despite this, he took no action against the unauthorized vehicles or provided any resolution for my situation. Instead, he told me I had to pay $175 to have the boot removed. When I tried to reason with him, he threatened to increase the fee to $300 if I didnt pay quickly. The employee also falsely claimed that individuals from the adjoining lot are allowed to park in my apartment complexs lot, but apartment residents cannot park in theirs. This claim was later disproved by my apartment complex, which informed me that this arrangement is not true. Furthermore, I learned that Wheel Blockers is not contracted or employed by my apartment complex but instead patrols the lot on their own accord, claiming it is an act of goodwill. After I reluctantly paid the $175 fee, the employee struggled to remove the boot from my car and even asked me for assistance. This lack of professionalism was unacceptable. Since this incident, I have noticed that vehicles from the adjoining businesses continue to park in my apartment lot without being penalized, while residents like me face unfair treatment. When I attempted to call Wheel Blockers to discuss this matter, I was either hung up on or told that nothing could be done. They refused to answer my questions or even listen to my concerns.Business Response

You didnt mention what apartment complex you live in but anywhere we service we are absolutely authorized by the leasing office or management company. Signs are posted with the parking rules and our company information that had to be authorized to be installed. If you were booted for parking at a business next door that is their property and have authorized to have illegally parked vehicles towed or booted. If they have any agreement for you to park on their lot or vise versa you should contact them or your management to be made aware of the rules.Customer Answer

I am rejecting this response because:
I did tell the driver where I lived and he responded by even telling me he knows I live there. I contacted both my property and the business who both said I have a right to park there and no one called the tow truck company like I was also told by the driver. The apartment complex and the business said I have to go through wheel blockers for a refund. Whenever I call and ask for a supervisor I get hung up on, and when I asked the driver for a supervisor he refused. There is also no specific signage indicating that it is only for the business since the business employees also park in the apartment lot and vice versa as is allowed.Initial Complaint

I parked at the shopping center lot located at ********************************************************* (***********) on 11/30/2024 and walked with a family member straight into to ************************, which is at the same address. I have parked in this lot to go to this business for over a year. After eating at the bakery we returned to my car that had a boot and a ticket from wheel blockers on the top, with no information filled in. Most cars around me were also booted and people were standing outside waiting to speak with the wheel blockers *** on site. When I spoke with the ***, he said a woman watching on camera saw a woman and person who looked just like me walk across the street off the property, illegally using the parking lot to eat offsite at **********************. I said that was not the case and that I could provide a receipt of the meal we just ate at the bakery. Camera footage of the stores could also prove this was clearly not the case. I asked him to clarify that we could indeed use the lot for businesses on site and he affirmed. He removed the boot from my vehicle for free but also took the empty ticket from us as well.I attempted to go to the same bakery the next month, using the same lot, but saw people booted and the same *** there. I asked him if I could go into the bakery and he ***lied yes, but dont go across the street. I said that even though I hadnt gone across the street last time I used the lot I was still booted, and expressed my hesitancy that the same result wouldnt happen. I immediately left and have not done business with any establishment at the shopping center for fear of illegal booting and having to prove my innocence (filming my walk to and from the bakery, etc.) from Wheel Blockers again.I want the ability to use the lot and its associated shops again without fear of illegal booting. The company also needs to fill out tickets with info re: implied violation, a clearly shown fee, if theyre going to boot in general.Business Response

We apologize for any inconvenience. We are all human and make mistakes but we strive to do our best. We can guarantee if you are a customer of any of the businesses on site you will not be booted or charged as long as you remain on the premises and not leave the property to go elsewhere. Parking there is very limited and abused so we are only trying to make sure actual customers as yourself will always have available parking.Initial Complaint

I parked my car in the parking lot of ***********. While parking I noticed many signs about towing, I parked in a spot and backed my car into the spot, while doing so the parking sign was in the spot I parked. I stopped to read the sign which basically said parking for *********** shopping only. Perfect I was eating a Bang Bang Burger which is in this lot. Order my food, food comes out, Im missing one item so I get up to go get the item and notice my car is booted. I ask the workers they say talk to guy out side. I go outside leaving my food to get cold to tell the booting guy hey why did u do that I literally parked and came right in this business. He says oh are u the *****? I said yes he said ok Ill take it off. I go back in get a box for my food bc Im so upset I was booted for no reason and come back out. The boot is off and so I ask the man why did you boot my car he said confused. I asked again he said oh I made a mistake. Now I get mistakes happen BUT there were 3 other people with the same mistake which tells me its not a mistake, its wheel blockers being unethical!!!!!! The guy made a comment saying well I took the boot off with no charge, umm *** did you think I was paying for a boot when I parked in a lot for the restaurant I went to. Totally unfair and very unethical for this business to operate this way.Business Response

Unfortunately we are all human and make mistakes and t. I spoke with our employee and everyone else was booted because they parked illegally and were not customers and went elsewhere. Parking there is very limited and parking needs to be for actual customers as yourself only. Again we apologize for any inconvenience.Initial Complaint

I was working with ********* . I ran into the shop and picked up the food and while walking out hes running up to my car and proceeds to put a boot on my car. My friend wash sitting in the car. Then I ask why did you do that, he was aggressive and rude and ran over my foot in the attempt to tow my car as hes yelling and threatening. His name is ******. If that was real. Someone needs to do something about this company. He also did the same to 5 people the same night in a row. Business should not over step there boundaries and treat people like this. Its not the humanitarian way. Then said it was $400 to get the boot off, but if I had $250 he would take it off. Lord I pray youll help our community and get rid of this dishonest business.Business Response

We apologize for any inconvenience but you should also follow the parking rules. You were either illegally parked or parked in a clearly marked Fire lane which signs are also posted stating such. You were charged the correct boot fee and if the vehicle would have had to be towed then it would have been more but you only were charged a boot fee. Going forward please follow the parking rules to avoid putting yourself in a situation to be booted or towed.Customer Answer

I am rejecting this response because:
You were very unprofessional also smoking marijuana and not in uniform. Didnt show no credentials of being a towing company. Just very unprofessional. Someone one day will deal with this towing company badly and BBB will wish they did something. Your so h*** bent on me being in a fire lane for 2mins, I think you need to worry about the danger you all are putting yourself in due to your company disrespectful antics. I pray for this company. Life is to short for you to treat people disrespectful and unfair with no compassion.Business Response
Date: 12/29/2024
Again we apologize for the inconvenience but however you choose to park in a Fire Lane where the property owners and fire marshal want enforced. Our employees face random drug test and were not smoking marijuana as you claim. They wear uniforms and all company vehicles are marked. Again you choose to park there and the mistake of being illegally parked falls back on you. Again we apologize but our employees were only doing a job as instructed.Initial Complaint

On the evening of December 22nd, I was leaving the ******** Billiards bar and came out to find my car was booted along with a few others and one car being towed. Since this appeared recent I went back to the bar to obtain proof that we were patrons. An employee came to speak with the driver that we were patrons. We waited over for the drive to get approval to unboot the car. In the mean time 2 guys came from another restaurant/establishment and were able to get both of their cars off for a total of 150$ each. I flagged the guys down and they said they were able to get a lower price with cash. After 30 minutes of waiting, I was told that since the property was stepped off, for any amount of time, that results in their ability to boot and a fine. I explained that I was at the establishment for over an hour and a half, and was there while they booted, they stayed solid on their stance. I agreed to pay the fine even after some charged comments and abrasive attitude from the driver was told 250$. I asked if I could get the same price or deal that the previous men got, whether that was card or cash, but was denied. I checked the sign at the front of the parking lot which was badly damaged and it says 125$ for booting. The driver said, without looking, that it has an asterisks and 125$ was not the price, even though no asterisks was visible as shown in the photo. They implied that since I spoke with the employee rather than initially accepting the fee and immediately paying, they were not going to level with me. I am not looking for this fee to be removed but for the company to pay the same price across peoples.Business Response
Date: 12/26/2024
We apologize for any inconvenience. The original boot fee is $250. We are not aware of any discount in the prices that night. We were called out by management for the vehicles that were towed or booted.
