This company is fraud. The came behind our house WHILE OUR CAR was parking on the outside of my garage and put my husbands car up on a tow truck. Company charged me and him a $325 drop fee to let our car down. This is absolutely disgusting for one, the man that had my car up on the truck had a nasty and rude attitude. To be charged almost $400 to be parked behind OUR HOUSE is absolutely disgusting. Please share this as these people are fraudulent.Business Response

Unfortunately we are just the towing company and do not make the rules for your community. Per your HOA rules there is no street parking of any type except for the cut out designated spaces which your vehicle was not parked in. If you have any questions or need to be updated on the rules please contact your HOA or management company. Again we apologize for any inconvenience but we are only doing our job as instructed.Initial Complaint

On December 16th, 2024, between the hours of 9:00 PM and 8:00 AM, my vehicle was towed from a Future Resident parking space at my own apartment complex while I was actively using the vehicle to move out. I have lived in this complex for four years, and throughout this time, I have been explicitly told by management that parking in these spaces is permitted outside of business hours. I have done so numerous times without issue.I find the towing to be not only unjust but also a predatory act aimed at residents who have been given clear guidance that such parking is acceptable. The towing occurred outside of business hours, during which no disruption or violation *********** reclaim my vehicle, I was forced to pay an exorbitant $350 towing fee, which I believe was charged unfairly. I request a full refund of this fee as this constitutes an abuse of towing authority and improper targeting of long-term residents.I appreciate the Better Business Bureaus assistance in mediating this matter and holding Wheel Blockers accountable for their predatory practices. Please let me know if additional documentation or evidence is required.Business Response

As you stated you were parked in future resident parking which you clearly are not. Visitor parking is allowed on the top floor of the garage only and has always been the case. Anything else has to have a parking decal at all times. These are the rules per management. Please follow them to avoid being booted or towed.Initial Complaint

Booted and charged $250 for an alleged parking violation - refused to explain the violation. There are multiple misleading signs in the area. One of the signs said "Booting $125 - $250" but the "employee" would not explain why my charge was $250 rather than $125 (or another price within that range). The employee was threatening. He approached my car numerous times asking for payment even though I asked him to stay away from me and my vehicle until the police arrived. He took a photo of my ID "for his business records" and refused to delete it after charging my credit card, which is very concerning as it lists my home address and I am a single female who lives alone. This does not seem like a legitimate business and even if it is technically legal, is incredibly predatory.Business Response

Not sure where you were parked at but clearly in a location where you were illegally parked without authorization or proper parking decal. The boot fee is a set price of $250. We apologize for any inconvenience but signs are posted stating the parking rules and fees.Customer Answer
Date: 12/17/2024
I am rejecting this response because:
It is not a set price, there is a range listed on the sign. Why was my boot $250 to remove and not $125 or another value within the listed range? How does your company set your prices?Initial Complaint

On 12/15/2024 I was booted by this company. As my pregnant wife was asking about the parking policy, Employee ******, was predatorial and discriminatory. He said he didn't care, and proceeded to boot our vehicle while I was still in the car. The parking rules weren't visible from where we were. ****** made a statement about "black" people referring to me and my wife. When we called to report the incident, whoever answered the phone was extremely unprofessional, used profanity, and hung up in my face twice. Employee ****** was also illegally parked and when I asked him if the same parking laws applied to him, he refused to answer and left immediately after we paid for it to be removed.Business Response
Date: 12/26/2024
We apologize for any inconvenience but you were illegally parked without authorization resulting in the vehicle being booted. We are not understanding what youre implying about being black when ****** is a black African American himself. Signs are posted and spaces are marked. Please follow the parking rules to avoid this type of situation.Initial Complaint

December 14, 2024 at 6:37pm I walked into Five Guys to pick up my order that I had placed online. When I came out a guy yelled at me Mam I put a boot on your cat and it will cost you $250 to get it off! Now his car was parked on the treaded sidewalk. And he wants to put boots on cars that are parked illegally!!! He should be parking in legal spots as well!!! The first guy that yelled at me about the boot had another guy with him that was standing beside Wheel Blockers vehicle. Other guy was laughing loudly and taking pictures with his phone. There was another guy standing on the sidewalk on the other side of my car. It was dark. I felt threatened by having three different guys standing around me. I paid my fine and then he took boot off of my car. So its ok if he parks illegally!!!! And have multiple people with him to intimidate people!! Wheel Blockers is there putting boots on vehicles that people are leaving running within seconds of the driver getting out of vehicle. And when I came out the restaurant the guy didnt have a problem yelling that he had put a boot on my car. He should have a boot on his car for parking on sidewalk. Oh but I guess laws DO NOT apply to them. I was always taught that those that cast stones should not live in glass houses. I tried to call police to report Wheel Blockers was parked on sidewalk but nonemergency number was already closed. And I do know that the fine for parking in fire lane is $50 not $250. As you can see on my receipt, the time is one minute after I walked into restaurant. I just feel if hes going to yell he put a boot on my car for one minute he should have yelled at me when I got out of my car that he was going to put that boot in there. No he cant do that because hes just trying to s**** with people and make a certain quota before he called it a night because its cold and he was having to work an effed job instead of having a job that is productive for society!!!Business Response
Date: 12/26/2024
We apologize for any inconvenience but the Fire Lane is clearly marked and signs are posted also. Not sure who was laughing and taking pictures but our drivers are only doing their job and have no reason to laugh or be rude. The fees are posted on all signs entering the property per city ordinance. Please follow the parking rules to avoid this type of situation.Initial Complaint

Yesterday, I had brunch and coffee, and then purchased a box of Insomnia Cookies. Before parking my car, I checked for signs in front of the space, specifying a time limit for parking or designating curbside pickup. I did not see anything of that nature. The only sign I did see was in the corner of that parking lot, stating that the lot was reserved for customers visiting one of the stores at *******************. As I did in fact shop in and make a purchase at ******** Cookies, I was not in violation of that sign. Had there been any other wording, such as a time limit, then I wouldn't have parked there. We were treated very poorly. I approached the situation with respect and kindness and was met with the opposite. I asked for a bit of clarification and was cut off and responded to harshly. After waiting outside patiently for over 30 minutes, I called back to check on the status of the driver. At that point, the disrespect and rudeness became worse. I was yelled at and told that the driver had already been there, but we didn't leave the parking lot, so that was not true. I was hung up on. When I called back to get the information I needed, no one answered. After 7 more calls, the man picked up the phone. He answered with, "5-10 minutes." And then I was hung up on again. I feel I did not deserve this ticket in the first place. And I know that I didn't deserve to be treated the way that I was. I needed to get back to ******************** for a meeting, but it took an hour and a half for the driver (who I was told was "in the area") to ever arrive. I ended up moving my meeting back, inconveniencing even more people as a result. And absolutely no one was willing to have a conversation with me about it. This is abuse of power and hardly seems ethical or legal.Business Response

We apologize for any inconvenience but however you were parked illegally which resulted in your vehicle being booted. Signs are clearly posted at each entrance and throughout stating customer parking only. Once you left the property to go elsewhere you were not a customer of those businesses which resulted in vehicle being booted. The tow truck was dispatched during the time you called which had to be canceled and the boot team sent back out. They circled the lot and didnt see you and left at that point. Once you called back the were reassigned to head you way again. So again we apologize for any inconvenience but moving forward please pay attention to all signage and follow the parking rules.Initial Complaint

12/1/2024 I was at **************************, went they booted my car, I went into Pet Supplies Plus while my partner ran across the street, he did not even make it 15 feet before a man was putting a boot on my car. I have a receipt from the pet store stating the time and date of my purchase. He demanded we pay $250.00 to have the boot removed. When you call their number we spoke to a man who was rude and cussing, and laughed an hung up multiple times. Even if we were in the wrong, that is not how you should conduct business. Through further investigation, I am not the only person who experienced this.Business Response

There was only one person in vehicle at the time in which they parked and left the property to go elsewhere resulting in the vehicle being booted. Signs are clearly posted stating parking is for *********** only. No one was rude or cussing we have no reason to be upset. Again please follow the parking rules and this whole situation could have been avoided.

I am requesting a refund of $250.00 that I was charged for an incident that occurred in the parking lot of Pet Supplies Plus located at ********* in **************I parked in the lot to quickly pick up a mobile order from the ********* across the street before heading into the pet store. I was away from my car for less than two minutes. Upon my return, I was shocked to find a boot being placed on my car, despite the fact that I was actively using the parking lot for its intended purpose. The individual booting my car was still in the process of doing so as I approached. I was incredibly distressed, unable to justify and felt pressured to pay the excessive fee of $250.00 on the spot, which I have since found to be significantly higher than what others have been charged in similar situations. This situation has caused me considerable emotional and financial stress. I believe the booting and subsequent charge were unjustified, given the circumstances and the minimal time I was away from my vehicle. I could not go into the store after that because of the money taken and I was extremely upset. I request a full refund of the $250.00 charged.Business Response

Unfortunately parking is for the businesses of that property only as parking is very limited. Once you leave the property to visit a different business across the street you were illegally parked and we have no way of know your intentions. You should have parked at ********* first to avoid being booted. Again parking is very limited and you cant leave a vehicle there to go elsewhere.Initial Complaint

Parked in parking lot to get jersey mikes, saw my cousin I was meeting across the street. Met him and as were trying to recross the street back, the employee is literally speed walking to put a boot on my car for not walking straight into jersey mikes. Literally not even 2 minutes after getting out of my car he boots me. I tell him I literally just got here and were going to eat. He makes extremely rude comments and states the only way he will remove the boot, immobilizing my car, is if I pay and sign for $250. He saw us trying to cross the street and literally is ******* to throw a boot on my car as Im telling him were shopping here. Absolute insanely illegal practice. Already consulting a law firm.Business Response

Unfortunately you were illegally parked once you left the property to go elsewhere regardless of the time. Parking is for businesses of that property only and signs are clearly posted stating the parking rules. We apologize for any inconvenience but once you leave the property we have no way of know your intentions.Customer Answer

I am rejecting this response because:
If you review camera footage, you will see I was a customer of the property within 5 minutes of parking. There is nowhere on the sign that states you have to immediately walk straight into a store as soon as you park. There Is nowhere on the sign stating you cannot cross the street for 2 minutes, not even 50 feet away from my car. The camera footage will make it obvious the predatory practices, especially the employee ******* to put boots on peoples car. I will leave the rest to the law firm.Business Response

The signs clearly state customer parking only and once you left that property you werent a customer at that time. Unfortunately with such limited parking those are rules and you cant walk off and go elsewhere.Customer Answer

I parked in a lot for a company called highlife and after shopping for a few minutes stepped outside to take a call that lasted approximately 5 minutes. When I turned the corner I found my car had been booted. The company was called wheelblockers located in *********. When I tried to explain that I had never left the property and was there for less than 15 minutes(it was 30 minute parking) the owner of the *** company said he did not care and that he was going to get his money. I followed all the rules and was Still forced to pay $250.Business Response
Date: 11/23/2024
You never spoke with the owner probably an employee or dispatcher which explained to you what the fee was. That lot is very small with parking for no more than 7 vehicles. You had to have left the property and that is the reason you were booted. Again you werent inside the business nor the parking lot and you even said you stepped off. Unfortunately you cant leave the business or property as parking is very limited.
