2/21/25 - I contacted *** to have someone let me into my car (locked out) and to replace a key. I was sick, it was 36 degrees outside, and we were in long term parking at the airport for over two hours, but *** had not yet ASSIGNED anyone to come out to help us. I called a technician to let me in and provide me with a replacement key. They reported, got me into my vehicle and provided me with a replacement key. As he was leaving, *** notified me that my case had finally been ASSIGNED to someone. *** has indicated they would not cover any additional costs associated with me calling in my own technician to have this repaired. I'm certain they will not cover my doctors bill either from standing in the cold for hours. There are a lot of companies that perform these services. I have been with AAA for 10+ years, but I will definitely be looking elsewhere. On the plus side, I received 9 apologies each time I inquired on the status of my claim.

AAA Carolinas is AWFUL. Do not use this company if you can at all avoid it. I have been trying to get my car towed for 4 days now. I keep getting texts saying someone will be there by "X" ******** and then no one shows. I have talked to at least ***** different people at AAA, and NONE of them knew the situation from my previous conversations with the others. I keep getting told that they are going to call me right back after they find out what the delay is, and then I don't hear back from that person. Instead, I get a call back from someone new asking if I still need the service. Then, 4 days after the initial call, they let me know that it is going to cost me $200 to tow the vehicle. It was the first time anyone had bothered mentioning that! AAA Carolinas appaerently has NO idea what it is doing and can not get out of their own way. This is also the third time in the past few years that we have needed the service, and had to wait literally days before someone could help us. I have asked for a refund on my membership and was told they would do that. Hopefully, the don't s**** that up as well... Do not use this "service".

It's 7:30 and it's 28 degrees outside. I have a flat tire. *** gives me a 2 hour wait. I keep getting calls and up dates pushing back the time. I finally reach out to a friend who has to bring his 9 year old in pj's to come help me. I get home and go to bed. When I woke up, I had numerous missed calls at 11 pm, 5 am, and I answer the one at 9:30 asking if I'm in a safe location and still need a technician. Needless to say I canceled my service... or so I thought. I tried. You have to speak to a certain department to cancel service. When I demanded a refund, I was told I wasn't eligible for one. AAA is a scam, plain and simple. They get $87/year to send out automated texts messages telling you someone is coming but never does. This isn't the first time this has happened, but it will be the last. They may make it impossible to cancel, but I will cancel my CC to be sure. I'm pretty sure they should be investigated for fraud. Whatever you do, don't give your money to them.

Waited over an hour and a half until a tow truck company even called me. I will be finding some other type of insurance besides AAA.

Worst service ever! I live in a rural area. Locked my keys in my car. Do not have another set. Called AAA on Saturday, Nov. 30, they *** said road side assistance would be out by 5:12. *** *** called back to say there is a delay. By 7:00pm called back there delayed. Called back around 8ish the driver cancelled. Sunday informed by *** *** ******** assistance would be at my location between 10:30 am and 12:30pm. No one showed again. Call *** *** again they would try to find another service provider and call me back in 30 minutes. No one called me back, I get a call from AAA at 1:00am on December 2 asking if I wanted to cancel the service. I stated no and the *** *** shared that a service provider would be out by between 10 am and 11:12 today. Believe me, no service provider has been out and it is now 12:13 pm. I have been on hold for about 20 minutes. Still waiting. The service is very poor at this time. I really hate to leave bad reviews but this has been the worst service I have ever experienced. So disappointed with ***. I will not be renewing my membership.

I've now had THREE incidents where *** did not get a tow truck to me until the next day. In this latest experience, my car almost didn't make it to my home. It happened to be the last day of my Premier membership, a Saturday afternoon. I called to request a tow, just after 2:00 pm. After speaking with THREE representatives, and being on the line for nearly an hour, my roadside assistance request was finally processed. I received 2 automated calls within the following two hours, confirming that I was still in the cue. 22 hours later, I called AAA to follow up. They said I'd have to renew my membership. I explained that my request was made while my membership was still valid; I was not not making a new request, only following up on the one from the previous day. I believe *** intentionally withheld service in order to try forcing me to renew my membership. I believe that's called blackmail.

Called AAA on Nov 15, 2024 when my truck would not start. They sent a guy with no AAA emblems on his clothing or vehicle. His company name was on his truck and his clothing. ****************. This guy ended up selling me a battery through ********** on his credit card on his own personal business account at a huge discount but I paid full price in cash. So the battery was technically his and not mine. He would not provide a receipt for the battery so I went to ********** and requested one. Got it and found this guy's discount. Contacted AAA 4 different times, 2 times with Member Relations. First time I was told I would get refund or new battery. Waited 2 weeks, called again and was told I would get nothing and that I need to resolve the issue with the guy who sold me the battery. Went to *************** in **************** twice and they could not help me other than referring me to Member Relations. I have taken this guy's battery back to ********* and it was credited back to this guy's business account. I bought a new battery elsewhere (not at AAA). Emailed guy asking for refund that I paid him. Will see what happens here. If he doesn't send refund and I doubt that he will I will be out of $250.00 which covered cost of battery he bought and the tip I gave him. *** did me very wrong on all counts. Considering not renewing my membership.

Stranded on major highway with 80 year old mother. My first call was to AAA Roadside Help. Called for a tow with passengers and dispatcher said it would be at least an hour. Then I received another follow up call that it would be another hour for a tow company to contact me. I received another call after two hours that a tow company would contact me in another hour. Thankfully, a local friend was able to help us. We had to leave the car so my mother could get out of the heat. The Roadside Help never came from ***. This was the first and last time I will ever use their service. Do not rely on AAA of the Carolinas if you are stranded on a roadside!
