We have a 2 year old Trane furnace. We bought it because they are a trusted brand well reviewed by Consumer Reports. This furnace has failed 3 times already, and with every mechanical part failing. It costs us $200 in labor for every fix. This is BS. How do they maintain their reputation for quality with this level of defects? And the service company tells us if they cannot fix it this time we are SOL. Trane does nothing other than offer us a credit to buy a new one. How is it possible we would need to replace it in 2 years?!?! One star is generous.

False advertising 0% financing for 60 months currently in 2024. Ive gotten two quotes from local reputable dealers. Both are passing through on the financing cost to customers by inflating quoted prices by 15%, if you select to go with 60 month promo. False advertising and customer service cant do nothing.

I purchased a Trane 4 ton unit in August of 2016. After 4 months we had to replace the entire coil right before the holidays. 4 years after that we had to replace the coil again. We bought the unit from ********** in ************** who stopped servicing our area and forced us to deal directly with the manufacturer. Trane has the worst customer service I have ever dealt with. They said that they would replace the coil but I would have to pay $1500.00 in labor. After weeks of back and forth I ended up paying $950.00 to install. So now I have paid almost 7k for a defective unit that never worked right. Going 1 step further the unit now 9 years old has to be replaced completely because their plastic cabinets has rotted out and has caused major leaks. So now in less than ************************** 16K. Do not by a Trane unit. No support from their dealers or the manufacturers ***************. I think 16k for a 1700 sq ft home in less than 10 years is absolutely ludicrous.

I had a custom home build and move in August 2023. We have a Trane 5 ton unit with three zones install by the builder. September 2024 the unit was not cooling, call the builder and A/C company that install the unit, after troubleshooting they concluded the evaporator coil had a leak at one of the joints. POOR QUALITY CONTROL. Hard to believe that a 13 month unit already had a major failure I asked if it was cover under warranty and the response was YES, but next day the Freon was not coverQuote $1500.00. NEVER WILL I PURCHASE A TRANE PRODUCT FOR MY PERSONAL, BUSINESS OR RENATL PROPERTIES!

We purchased our home in May 2019, which came with a Trane AC Unit (brand new build). After 5 years of living here, the evaporator coil went bad, and we were quote $3k to replace the coil. They called to check warranty, and as it was 5 years and a few months old, it was now outside of the 5 year warranty, so nothing. We are definitely not satisfied having an AC unit that isn't made to last outside of 5 years, and will avoid using Trane in the future if this is the service and quality we can expect. We definitely expected much better with a name brand like Trane, however experience shows otherwise. We have our unit serviced and checked twice a year, every year, so this is very disappointing, but the quality and responsiveness to the issue is even more so.

My wife owns a townhome in ***************. Our ** fan froze up. The ** unit is only 8 years old. The Townhome is eight years old. We called Trane representative cause it said we have a 10 year warranty. Now they telling us that we only had a 5 year warranty. That she was suppose to register the unit when she purchased the brand new townhome. She said she was only handed the keys and never told anything about registering the HV**. Since they don't stand behind there 10 year warranty then our next purchase will be with a reliable company.

We installed a new trane air condition unit in our condo in ****** ******* January 2021 and last week it stopped cooling we had to pay $355.00 diagnostic fee and was diagnosed as the coil is leaking and is going to cost $1684.00 for installing the new coil since we have a 10 year warranty on the part. The company installed the unit is certified heating and air conditioning in ************** .we purchased the unit on their recommendation as being the best ?Now we are reading the consumer reports and seems like many new units have the same problem. We would like to be reimbursed for the expenses of the installation. We have service contract and unit is being checked every six months and march was the last service which reported everything is ok.Please respond as soon as possible.Thank you, ***********************

In 2020 a Trane HVAC System ($17,000) was installed for the upper level of our home 16-year-old home. In June of 2021 our A/C unit stopped working. It turned out that a mouse had eaten part of the control board (and made a nest inside the unit, using pieces of the service manual). Finally, a new board was installed at the end of August 2021, and Steel Wool was placed in 2 ground-level areas to prevent future access, by an HVAC contractor technician. Yesterday (July 2024) our A/C unit stopped working. Today I was told by an HVAC contractor from a different company that a mouse has eaten the control board. I do not know when a new part will be available. When the house was built (20 years ago) we installed 3 ****** HVAC systems. It is the middle unit of the 3 that was killed by the mouse. In 2021 I had the technician open up the inside of the other 2 ****** systems -- they were pristine inside and still are. Why could ****** build a mouse-proof (outside) Condenser box 20 years ago, and Trane not be able to build one in 2021, or correct a real fatal flaw in their unit's construction design.? I have pictures!
