I signed up for a free trial of this service in November of 2024. I forgot to cancel and began getting charged. Understandably, this is my own fault. However, I did not receive any notice of the charges once through email or text or anything, and more than likely forgot about it because I had just gotten married a week after signing up for the trial. So now I'm realizing that I've been getting charged for the last 6 months, without having logged on or even touched the website since November. They are unable to refund me because I "Didn't cancel before the 7 day trial period". Again, I understand that was a mistake on my end but it's pretty sad that there's no wiggle room for this especially since I have cost the company $0 in the past 6 months. I will not be using this service again, and if you plan to make sure you don't have to deal with customer service. They are wildly unhelpful.Business Response

Complaint: Unfair Billing Practices and Lack of Transparency I am filing a complaint regarding **************************. I was unknowingly charged $40 per month for several months for a service I never used and was not aware I had subscribed to. I only became aware of the charges after receiving a fraud alert and checking my account.After logging into the companys websitefor the first time after noticing the chargesI saw that it stated I was on a free trial. However, I never received any email notifications, billing reminders, or confirmation that a paid subscription had begun. This is highly unusual compared to most reputable companies, which typically notify users before charging after a trial period ends.I do not recall authorizing a paid subscription, and I certainly never used the service. When I disputed the charges with my bank, the merchant claimed no error occurred and presented compelling evidence, which I assume refers to the fine print in their terms. However, relying solely on small-print auto-renewal language without actively informing or engaging the customer is a deceptive business practice.This business model appears to take advantage of busy individuals by charging silently and avoiding reminders, banking on the fact that many wont notice right ******* requesting that the BBB investigate this companys billing practices and lack of transparency. Thanks for your reply. Im writing to formally reject your response regarding the refund denial.
While I understand your 30-day refund policy, the issue here goes beyond policythis is about being charged multiple times for a service I never used, never received reminders about, and never authorized beyond the free trial. I only discovered the charges after a fraud alert from my bank prompted me to look deeper.
Your response doesnt address the lack of transparency, the absence of billing emails or renewal notifications, or the fact that I never accessed or used your service after signing up. If your system confirms there was no account activity, that alone should be a red flagand grounds for a refund.
Im rejecting your response because:
There was no informed consent to ongoing charges.
No usage occurred after the trial began.
No notifications were sent, unlike virtually every other reputable digital service.
$40/month is excessive for a passive document tool, especially when theres no engagement or communication.
Yeah, I get that you have a policy but policy doesnt override human decency. One day, you might sign up for something, forget about it during a busy month, and find out later youve been charged hundreds for something you never used. Youd hope the company on the other end wouldnt just hide behind fine print, but actually do the right thing. Thats all Im asking for here. Im not someone who normally pushes things this far honestly, I could care less about a few bucks. But this wasnt just a small mistake. Nearly $239 disappeared silently while I was busy working, raising my family, and trusting that companies wouldnt operate this way. Im not a rich man Im a working man in a busy country, and that money matters. If theres any integrity in how your company operates, I ask you to take a second look and make this right.

I cancelled my account before the "free trial" period expired, but charges appeared anyway on bank debit statements. I called the company, they agreed to cancel and refund the charges. They did. But then, two months later the charges appeared four more times. I sit in my notification of deactivating the account on May 26th at 4:20 a.m. and I also notified them that I didn't need the services anymore. I am unsure why they still proceeded to debit my account and it declined. And I thought that was all that was needed because I already submitted my cancellation within the purview and if the purview is discriminated by 20 to 40 minutes sorry to say I still want my full refund back I am currently homeless and I was using that money to pay my rental storage fee I'm holding on to my thing I did not permit them to go further and resubmit any other payment that I already said I did not want I contacted them and asked what I should do and I proceeded of doing that I'm not sure if they marked my account being canceled or customer asked and requested about how to cancel the account I went through the procedures that they did so I started canceling my account before that time it statesBusiness Response

When I did their free trial after not being able to find a template that would work for me. I canceled it. Never created the actual account with the password or anything. Just saw that they've been charging me for the last 3 months. And they said they can't do anything for me. Also did not send me an email letting me know my trial was up. You cannot call this company they send you to the email chatbot which takes you about an hour to get through and then it is tell you they're not going to pay you back. I was charged ***** for a "free" subscription, which i thought i had cancelled and even tried to go and check to make sure I had and it says its have "free membership" with ni way to cancel. I did not even use their template, nor downloaded it. I was not made aware I was getting charged or that the charge was happening, as I had said I was not interested in any membership or premium membership. I guess it didnt cancel correctly. There should be a clear and easy way to cancel for this. I want my money back as I have no intention in using this website. It did not give me the proper templates for the contract I needed. I signed up for a $1.00 7 week trial and was charged $1.00. Now over a week later my credit card was charged $49.95 for a month. I did not want nor authorize a one mo subscription. They gave me option online to sign up for a month at $49.95 or 1 week trial for $1.00. I chose the $1.00 option. They deceptively mislead people into the trial with intention on tricking them and charging them for a month. Upon reaching out they refuse to cancel immediately and refund. I have now researched them on ****** to see: 1. On march 10, 2025 got on to ************************** to find leasing documents that required i enter personal and financial information for a "free 7 day trial". Gave the requested information and began searching the sight. Nothing of use for me needs so canceled the trial period the same day before leaving the ************ forward to may 20, 2025 an I notice my bank account has a pending $49.95 for legaltemplates.net.Contacted them via a chat because they don't provide an actual number to speak directly to a human.Was told I didn't cancel when I know I did. Then after a back and forth I was told by "****" that he reached out to the accounting department and was approved a refund for 2 of the 3 monthly payments they took from me. This is a complete scam and they are STEALING money from people. They took $49.95 from me 3 months in a row and think returning 2 of those payments makes me whole. This company has a 7 day free trial, but I didn't cancel within that time period. It was a few days after. I clearly did not use their service and will not use it, but they charged me almost $50 anyway. Why wouldn't they refund me my money when I clearly did not use their service.Business Response
