This company is a scam, fraud, worst experience I have EVER had in one of the most stressful times. First they delivered the container no problem, then called the night before to tell me they wont be picking it up because their truck is broken. Yes beware in the state of **** they have ONE truck. So my stuff was supposed to be delivered 5 days late. They just called to tell me my stuff still has not moved and now the forklift operator is broken. I will now supposedly get my stuff 12 days late. Can you imagine? Family of 6 with our whole life being held hostage by pack rat. They even charge me $25 for changing the delivery date. They are making a note to not charge me the additional month for having it when I DONT EVEN HAVE IT! I wish I did! This company is horrible do not do business with them.1-800-PACK-RAT, LLC

Pack Rat movers were excellent to deal with. They were exactly on time at each step of our move. Our goods arrived in perfect condition. The price was very reasonable and exactly as quoted. A great company to do business with.1-800-PACK-RAT, LLC

They couldn't get my container on the set date that was set up upon initial rental day and called the day before to inform me it couldn't get picked up until possibly 2 Days later. Then refused to refund me as they said I used it as storage even though I had to unload it and rent a **Haul to get my stuff moved. Thn turned and charged me for an additional month's worth for storage because they said it didn't get picked up until 2 days after the original pickup date and refused to refund me when this was on them. They changed the date, not me and couldn't even accommodate the fact that I had to go rent a **Haul last minute, unload the pod and reload the **Haul. I disputed both charges from my bank as they are trying to make me pay over $500 for something they couldn't provide. And customer service was terrible.1-800-PACK-RAT, LLC

We did a two stage local move too an interm address and 1 month later too the final address. We were charged a fuel charge for delivery of containers, which we weren't told about and are being charged an additional amount for each container for final pick-up, were told by sales person there is no charge for final pick-up. When we got the containerws at final destination and unpacked them we found quite a ffew broke and damaged items, ******** ***** , pictures, figurines and pottery. They had been wrapped in bubble wrap and carefully loaded and unloaded. Some were broken so bad we threw them away. We bought additional insurance with Pack-Rat, when we filed a claim we were told we had to have pictures, sales receipts, cost of replacement, and where bought. Most of these items are 30 - 35 years old or one of a kind. After we file, were told it would take 90 days. Needless to said we will never use or recommend Pack-Rat in the future. To Whom It May ******* Re: My moving experience with Zippy Move Date: 5/16/2024 I had no issues with my first move with the company. For my second move, I relocated from a two-bedroom townhouse to a two-bedroom condo. To minimize costs, I packed my house and placed all the boxes in my garage for easy loading.However, at the end of the move, their tablet didn't work, so I couldn't see or agree to the itemized bill. I was charged $1789 for a job that should have cost at most $800. This seemed excessive, especially considering my first move was from a ***** sq ft home to a ***** sq ft townhouse. Additionally, I gave each worker a $25 tip.For this move:1.The lead sent a text an hour before arrival stating they had arrived (see attachment).2.The lead-packed items I specified did not need packing, even though I had 10 days to vacate my current address. I was charged for boxes and time.3.I requested two movers, but they sent three, and I was charged $179 an hour for the extra person I did not request.4.The lead instructed the workers to take breaks during my designated moving time.5.They took my TV down but left the wall attachment at the rental property, requiring me to remove it myself if I wanted it mounted again.6.The move was from a ***** sq ft condo to another condo, yet I was charged for 6 hours when I was quoted 4 hours with two men.The lead never explained the additional costs for the boxes I did not ask him to pack.1-800-PACK-RAT, LLC

I am very disappointed in 1800packrats. My husband and I are moving long distance and were pricing places for our move we used pods in past but 1800packrats is who we picked for this move . We were giving a price of $3800 . We confirmed and signed we called on 15th to make sure it was set to be dropped off and changed how many days we kept it and when it was being picked up . We were told we would be getting a discount for changing dates bc it made it easier on driver but we never got any discount . Also their website says 50% off your move but of course when you call to schedule it doesnt apply so that was annoying from the start bc its a lie right at the beginning. Now today they are trying to charge my card 4100 for the move without asking or paperwork and telling me its some fuel charge bs. We thought 1800packrats was making our move less stressful than using a moving truck or pods but it has been move of headaches and stress ontop of my father passing away . They are very big scammers I will never use them for a moving company again1-800-PACK-RAT, LLC

We moved across the continent. The move went very smoothly and everything was on schedule. Apparently a forklift had broken down at the warehouse close to our final destination. But they were able to get a forklift from a nearby warehouse and so our container was delivered within the original time frame (just not early). We confirmed with the sales associate at the outset that there would be no additional fees and that was the case. We paid what we were quoted. Everyone we dealt with was very helpful and friendly.1-800-PACK-RAT, LLC

I recently moved from ******* to *******. The only pod-storage moving company I could find that would come into ******* was Zippy Shell, a division of 1-800-PACK-RAT, LLC. This was a two stage move requiring me to store the pods in *******, ** until my house was completed. I was told the storage was climate controlled. It was not.Zippy Shell subcontracted the work to King ******** ********************** Company of ********, *******. They came to my home and loaded three pods. They took great care in wrapping my furniture so it wouldn't get damaged; however, the way the pods were loaded caused damage to my furniture from rubbing on other items. Also, I had a box packed with my mother's wedding china. The box indicated FRAGILE all over it. For some reason, it didn't get loaded until last. When ****** noticed the box, he took it to a pod and HEAVED it to the top of the pile. I had packed the box well and prayed nothing got broken. Upon unpacking it, I discovered the items on the bottom were damaged beyond gluing!When my property was unpacked at my new home, I discovered other items had been broken and furniture had been chaffed. My surger sewing machine was dropped and required repair. I was advised to file a claim by one of the movers who unloaded my property. I prepared a claim which was a cumbersome process requiring pictures of the damage, explanations, and all the initial purchase information. The form was submitted to 1-800-PACK-RAT who took 2 months to review it. The claim was declined. I appealed the claim noting that my property was mishandled. I again waited another two months before being advised that the decision on my claim would stand. An excerpt from the Rental Agreement ******** was provided to me that stated they would not "assume liability for damage"... "caused by improper packing, normal shifting or INTENTIONAL acts. My claim was only for $883, and I paid close to $20,000 for the move and two months of storage.1-800-PACK-RAT, LLC

Based on the results of the investigation, it was determined that the original determination sent was in fact a fair assessment of the items in which you claimed. Despite these findings the claims department honored the amount claimed.

I hired this company for a long distance move. They were to deliver on a Friday. It didnt come no call.so I called them truck broke down. They said it would come Saturday same thing other truck broke down. Finally on Sunday it came. My closing was Wednesday morning. I loaded it then got a call that they sent wrong container. They had to move my items to another container. I wasnt happy about it, but had no choice but to agree. They threw my things intoThe container damaging many many things. I had insurance, they denied the claim as it was loaded incorrectly. When i appealed they then denied as their employees loaded it correctly. I am so frustrated. This company totally took advantage of me . I have photos of how they loaded it. Paid over 3 thousand for them to break my things.1-800-PACK-RAT, LLC
