Only gave 1 star because I couldn't give 0 (Zero)
DO NOT use this company for a move!!! I moved from CO to CA at the beginning of this month. The scheduled drop-off was for 7/26. They called and told us they were going to be 7/27 or 7/30 late after I had paid for expedited drop-off service. We took off the week from work to move items into our new home. They charged us a gas surcharge for subsidiaries on top of the agreed-upon amount. Our bill went from $8000 to $9000. The pod is STILL sitting in a facility a distance from our home. I have put in several phone calls, and asked for updates on when it will arrive, they say 8/2 but that is the day we go back to work.
We have a disabled vet and elderly wife living with us currently sitting in lawn chairs and sleeping on the floor because of this delay. However, the service team at HQ keeps sending emails and making phone calls to the facility and changing dates on us, I am at the end of my fuse as this has upset my wife and made it uncomfortable for her parents. NOTHING has been done. What is the next step? Help Please!?!1-800-PACK-RAT, LLC

HORRIBLE!!!! Scammers!!!! Between Zippy Shell and the “sister company” Pack Rat I don’t know which is worse. Took unauthorized payments from bank, never showed up on date of move leaving us in a terrible bind and having to pay double for another company last minute….just stay away from these two companies one of the worst mistakes ever!!!1-800-PACK-RAT, LLC

A company who cancels your shipment the same day and change the pickup date without letting you know !! I am definitely out of words and ‘’beyond disappointed’’ is not enough to describe what this company put my family through.
We are moving crosscountry with a newborn, a toddler, and two dogs. We figured that it would be easier to have our household goods picked up and shipped to our next home vs. trying to do everything ourselves and drive 3000 miles with a 3-bedroom worth of furnitures.
We scheduled our moved ahead of time so that, there is a room for any possible changes. Little did we know, this company has the audacity to promise us that the driver is on the way…i called 4 times (6am, 9am, 1pm and 4pm) to verify during the service date.
My last phonecall was 6pm and the representative told me that the service date was changed to next month and she has no idea why it was changed. I got forwarded to another escalation representative and the guy told me, they had to cancel 5 services for 5 families the same day due to lack of drivers and vehicle shortage and they kept apologizing why they did not inform me at all! (Basically, they lied to me telling me that the driver is on the way and my family waited the entire day for nothing).
What happened next? We are stuck, the house is sold, and I dont know what to do with my household with 2 very young children and 2 dogs.
After 24hours of not sleeping and trying to figure everything out, we end up renting a small penske truck because thats the only thing available the last minute for a one-way drop off, all our household did not fit and we had to get rid of alot ! We drove 3000miles with whatever we can take with us and it was the worst experience possible that this company had put us through.
If there was 5 family who suffered that day, i wonder how many more families were affected throughout the month, perhaps the whole year?
This company deserves a class A lawsuit and i wish this review can be addressed.1-800-PACK-RAT, LLC

Absolutely Abysmal Service! I had a pick up day scheduled of July 25,2022 since I had the pod delivered on April 25,2022. I started calling on July 7 asking if it could be picked up early as we sold house and needed driveway space for movers. I was told absolutely not I had to keep my scheduled July 25 date. I then called July 15 again asking for it to be picked up early to be told same thing.
July 25 came and they did not email call or show! After being on hold 2+ hours I was told the truck broke and it was not going to happen it would be scheduled to July 27. I called and stated it wasn’t okay as we sold property and was told they would get it July 27.
On July 26 I get a message saying they are still behind it is delayed to July 28 and can be delayed further.
No one will help! This might ruin our house sale and no one from their company cares. They will use you and your property as a free storage facility. Use someone else. Absolute thumbs down1-800-PACK-RAT, LLC

This has been the worst experience ever with a moving/storage company. We were buying a shore house and were looking for a ez solution to buying and storing/moving those items to fill a 2000 sq ft house. 1) the pod did arrive on time, which was the last time anything was done as agreed per conversations with many employees and management(escalation team?) we had the unit for approximately 2 weeks when we received a call from a (area supervisor) that some of our paperwork was never processed. At that time of speaking with the supervisor, which is recorded by the way, I requested for an afternoon pick up and the drop off at our shore house about 50 miles away. He said absolutely no problem as I let him know a week ahead of time. Day of our settlement and we are getting into the car to drive to the title company and a packrat truck pulls up to pick up the container. Fine. But he would need to hold it for about 2 hours before dropping it and relocation address. He said he cant do that and will make arrangements and notes in the computer to come back later in the day. Perfect right? Wrong.. they rescheduled our delivery 4 more times extending it out a week from the original pick up date/time. We canceled the pod and are going to get a uhaul to move our stuff from our PR to the Shore house on our own. We cant trust them to schedule us a 5th time and not show again. Never ever ever do business with this company unless you have more time than you need in life and money to take control back of your stuff.1-800-PACK-RAT, LLC

My review is about 1-800-PACK-RAT, LLC. I am so frustrated and wished I had read this before agreeing with this company. My pod was supposed to be delivered on 7/21. The driver called and texted me at 8:05am and I missed the call, but returned the call and texted within 20 mins without answer. I again called a bit later with no answer again. My wife and I have been trying to get a hold of someone all day and then they tell us the earliest they can do is literally the day we're leaving. I finally got in touch with "escalations" and the guy was polite, he did get it moved to the 25th, but this will make everything so tight in our schedule. Mind you, the facility closest to me is < 30 mins from my house and the call center is < 5. I even drove to the call center (not knowing it was the call center prior to going there) and the on shift supervisor had the audacity to tell his employee that he will not come out and speak to me because he doesn't know how I am (although I explained my situation to the nice call center lady). I will never in my life use this company again, nor will I EVER recommend them to anyone else. BTW pack rat, I am a social media influencer with over 2 million subscribers.1-800-PACK-RAT, LLC

1 starThis company boasts “1-800-PACK-RAT offers a level of customer service & quality that ****** ******, & others just can’t match”, “Pledge to complete customer satisfaction.” This service failed at all points. Hour-long wait times & rude. I was charged for this failure of service on 6/27/2022, $5321, plus rent. The online portal did not update when we requested the transport. We called to confirm our transport request. We got verbal confirmation from a customer service representative (CSR) that it was in transit from ****** ****** Ca to *********, PA. We called to set the delivery date. Our container was still in ****** *****. Our container was NEVER IN TRANSPORT, even though we received verbal confirmation. The CSR blamed us for not setting up a delivery date. Let’s be clear, transporting the container from ****** ****** ** ** *********, PA is an entirely separate process from transporting the container from the ********* facility to our apartment. According to CSR, 7/23 was the earliest it could be delivered to our apartment. The “solution” was to “expedite” the container & delivery. This took the same amount of time. We called to confirm that our container was indeed in *********, the CSR then assisted in us having access to our container from 9 am to 12 pm on Saturday, 7/16 to pick up some of our things. She stated that she contacted the ********* facility & confirmed that someone would be there. CSR said the ********* facility does not have a direct line. We drove almost 40 miles to *********. & no one @ the ********* facility. We saw a driver as we were getting ready to leave. Our container was stacked atop another container. We have pictures to prove that our container was unreachable. We called again to let them know that we did NOT have access to our container, the CSR blame again. Today we received a text message that our container would be delivered on 7/25 after it was scheduled 7/23- “expedited” date. This is unacceptable. They our have stuff & $$$$$!Review fromMichael B

DO NOT use this company for a move!!! I moved from NY to *** ******* at the beginning of this month. The scheduled drop off was for 7/7. The drop off was late after I had paid for an expedited drop off service. I had to take off work and there was no accountability or apology on their end. The day prior to drop off I had received a text stating the pod could not be picked up until 8/5/22. The pod is STILL sitting on a "paid" city street, creating a blind spot for tenants pulling out of the apartment building to oncoming traffic, and is making me feel very uncomfortable as a new tenant. Everyday I walk to my car embarrassed the pod is still there creating tension and frustration for many. I have put in several phone calls, reported it abandoned, called the Traffic Division of Public Works for *** *******, and PackRat is still failing to pick up their pod. No phone calls, no updates, just failing at responsibility! I paid upwards of $2800 for this move and the unit is sitting on a street (anything can happen to it but I will say that is NOT my problem!). Not to mention, I was charged for changing fees (for the potential new pick-up dates). These have been removed. However, the service team at HQ keeps sending emails and making phone calls to the facility here in *** ******* but NOTHING is being done. What is the next step? Pick this pod up - NOW! This company needs to get it to gether (ZIPPY Shell) is **** in a bag. We got a price of $3750 for move of our stuff from ****** ** ** ****, MO.. They got $1735 when order was set - the day they was to drop it off we had hired a moving crew to load the container that was said 7ftx7ftx16ft.
The day came NO container noon we called an was told its being loaded will be there soon. called back 2 hrs later still NO container. Was rudely told they had till 8pm to bring it as per contract - we still had movers just sitting doing nothing all day cost $800 for moves to just sit around. 7:55 got a call saying they can bring us one in 3days or they can give us a refund. There is NO uHauls to move long distance for weeks. OK Bring it then- Got it 3days later but NOT a container but (Shark Cage) looking thing that was 6.4ftx6.4ft x14.5ft so I could not get a 7ft frig an my couch in the thing Lost $1400 on them an $800 for movers But (ZIPPY Shell) got there $$ an in the end only offered us $300 for refound a cost us $2300 in losses but (ZIPPY Shell) got there $$ upfront. I asked for half back not all of it cuz they did get my stuff there that I could fit in it to MO. - Their sizes are lies / they cant hold to timelines but they get their $$ an dont care. I have been the one calling them they have never called me about this matter. #******

Delivered pod a day late with a sister company's pod, picked it up to move to Florida 8 days late, not delivering to our new house until July 29 (which means they are in possession of all of our belongings for a month). Only offered to refund $470 from the over $4000 it cost us. Breech of contract repeatedly and they tell you that things will happen on a certain date then send an email stating a later date. Calling is useless because the reps can not give you the actual dates they give you as their warehouse has it's own schedule. The reps are nice but they are just placating customers. Spoke to an actual supervisor who was very polite and owned that it was their fault but could not refund any more than $470 unless we want to drive an hour and a half away to unload our pod at their warehouse. When asked if they would be paying for the truck rental to do this, he immediately responded,"no, but we can deduct the delivery fee.". This has put on life on hold in our new home due to them having all of our belongings. My husband can not start his new job due to all of his tools being in the moving pod.
