On May 01, 2023, I made a phone call to what I thought was the box office at ******* ** ******** ***** **. I wanted to purchase 8 tickets for a July 22, 2023, ******* *********, concert. I was told that the tickets were selling quite fast and that they only had 8 seats together for $****** for each ticket and that they were in the ** section of the venue. I actually felt pressured to buy the tickets right then and there. I had no idea that I was talking to ticket brokers that defraud consumers by charging almost 3 times the face value of the tickets and an almost $*** processing fee. Box Office Ticket Sales charged my **** account $******** for the tickets. They never disclosed that they were not the ********* box office. They led me to believe that I was calling ******* and had I known I wasn't talking to a ******* ticket agent, I would have never completed the purchase. A week later, I happened to look at the ticket sales at *********** and tickets in the same ** section are selling for $***** as of today and, (there are plenty available tickets available) nowhere near the $*** per ticket that I paid Box Office. I ** * ****** ******* that doesn't frequently buy concert tickets, so I wasn't aware of these types of fraudulent tactics. This is clearly consumer fraud and misrepresentation on the part of Box Office Ticket Sales. What I thought would be a pleasant family get-together at ******* has turned into a stressful situation. Please help me cancel this purchase and ask Box Office to reverse the credit card charge. I have called them several times and they refuse to cancel the purchase. I have already contacted my credit card company and filed a complaint. Box Office Ticket Sales personnel are **** **** and ********** to deal with. Box Office Ticket Sales is a resale marketplace, we are not affiliated with any venue. Before authorizing any purchase all customers including this one must agree to our terms and conditions. The terms are crystal clear and state that we are a resale marketplace unaffiliated with any venue or ************ and that tickets may be sold above face value. Our customer stated yes they agreed and understood. Additionally all customers including this one must agree to an itemization of the cost of their purchase. The cost per ticket, service fees and delivery were detailed and agreed to by this customer. At the time of their purchase the customer was unable to purchase 8 tickets on their own which is where a service like Box Office Ticket Sales excels. I have disputed charges with my bank relating to tickets purchased. I was unable to retrieve the tickets for use at the door and the printed receipt was not a ticket. I had to purchase two tickets at the door to gain admission and was not able to retrieve my tickets which this company forwarded to ****** ******. Not sure why? I could not retrieve the ****** ****** tickets as this seemed from an outdated account. My password was invalid and ****** ****** was using an outdated email address which I could not reestablish at the door.
I thought I was purchasing my tickets from **** ****** club, but in fact Box Office Ticket Sales made it appear they were the direct booking authority for *****. The price was four times the **** door price I later realized.
I have spoken to Box Office Ticket Sales customer service who declined to grant credit to my card. I could not gain access to the tickets and use them. They were never scanned in at ***** ****** Club. So, I had to buy new ones at the door. See attached charge and copies of the tickets I had to purchase at the door.Business Response

Box Office Ticket Sales is a leading resale marketplace. We dispute our customers claims vehemently. Every page of our website clearly states that we are a resale marketplace and not the venue. Furthermore Box Office Ticket Sales has transparent pricing. All fees including the price of tickets, service fees, delivery fees and any applicable taxes are clearly itemized at checkout and must be agreed to by all customers including this one before authorizing their purchase online. The time to question these fees was before completing the checkout process and not afterwards. We would note that our customer was transferred their tickets within 5 minutes after they completed their purchase. The tickets were via the ************ app and tied to the email address this customer used for their purchase. This is an industry standard. There was no reason whatsoever for this customer to purchase new tickets at the venue. No refund will be provided to this customer and if they dispute the charge on their credit card as they claim they will we'll flag their name, email address and phone number with the payment card industry which may limit their ability in the future to make online purchases.
We would also like to note that if this customer was verbally abusive with our customer service agent and making racially | culturally inappropriate comments at them, perhaps they would have been more likely to have been able to access their tickets if they paid more attention to the instructions our agent tried providing them rather then denigrating them.

It is misleading because this company pops up but it is not apparent
They can say whatever they want. Yes, it you read the fine print it does say things like they will charge above face value and they are not associated with the venue. Sadly, we did not realize it and are paying over twice the face value.
They are preying on people by counting on them not to reading the fine print.

On May 2, 2023 I called to purchase 6 ADA seats for the baseball game on Friday. I was informed that the designated ADA seats were sold out, but they had some seats requiring only 15 steps for access.
I agreed to purchase these since I had already informed them of our handicapped requirements. These seats require walking across the entire stadium and are located at the top of right field. Not 15 steps away.
When I called them about this matter they were **** and claimed that I was informed that these seats were not accessible.

When asked if the group attending the game required ADA seating or would seats that are easy to get in out of be suffice our customer stated the latter. We have attached the venues instructions on where elevators and escalators are conveniently located near the section and row they are sitting. It should also be noted that Box Office Ticket Sales has transparent pricing and transparent terms and conditions. All pricing and terms and conditions are clearly recapped and itemized and must be agreed to by all customers including this one before authorizing their purchase. On May 1st I queried the ********* ***** website to obtain their number for the box office to purchase tickets for the August 17th, 2023 ***** ******* concert. At which time I was transferred to a gentleman who discussed good seats and I had asked for a specific price for the ticket *****. When he presented me with two tickets, he stated they would be *** per ticket (which ended up a few dollars more). I asked why the price was so high and the representative stated it is the fees. I believe I also asked what the fees were, and he stated they would be articulated on the receipt I will receive. When I received my email receipt, it did not have the fees listed out (except for one and the cost for a mobile delivery). I then called the toll-free number because I believe the representative was misleading and also unethical with the ticket sale. I believe I was swindled into a new base ticket cost that the representative confused me on during the call. I am VERY disappointed and dismayed with this company. The representative stated there's nothing I can do and the audio stated "I accepted" the tickets verbally. Another unethical practice that corners a consumer. The woman stated she would have the company call me back. This morning at 9:29am (May 2nd, 2023) the company called back and another representative was VERY *****, barely let me get a word in edge wise and I stated I was "tricked into a higher priced ticket" and she was very *********, stated she has it on audio tape, etc. All I want to do is cancel this sale AND I will never use this company again (and will also notify the *** ***** (in ********** **) of this "ticket trickery" they are using to sell higher priced tickets. I would like the help of your organization to aid me in getting this sale of $******. It is my understanding that all sales have a five-day cancellation capability in the state of ********. Thank you for contacting Box Office Ticket Sales. Service Fees are a standard as a resale marketplace. While our customer was looking specifically at an $***** ticket from another ticketing company before they called Box Office Ticket Sales what they are negating is the fact that other company also charged a **% service fee + a per ticket order processing fee and a per ticket facilities charge. As a resale marketplace our ticket prices will vary from those of our competitor sites. Box Office Ticket Sales has transparent pricing. All prices are itemized and must be agreed to by all customers including this one before they authorize their purchase. If price were an issue the time to question this is before authorizing a purchase and not after. Lastly, the 5 day cancellation referenced by this customer is not applicable as this only applies to Door to Door home improvement sales. I purchased tickets on December 25, 2022 from BoxOffice Ticket Sales to see ******** on April 25th, 2023. I didn't even realize we weren't on the ******** ******* ***** site. That's how good this site is at pretending to be authentic. They cover the legal requirements but significantly blow it in ethics & values. They accepted my money (a good amount) in exchange for a guarantee. I was guaranteed tickets by April 24th.
After multiple out reaches on April 24th & 25th, and multiple promises/reminders of their guarantee, I was informed the tickets "fell through" at 3:53 p.m. on show day. I was 22 minutes away from picking everyone up for a wonderful dinner. This was absolutely heartbreaking as these were Christmas and Birthday gifts. My sister, my ** **** *** mom & ** **** *** aunt & I were planning a lovely evening.
How much money have they made on interest for funds returned?
I spoke with Eve & Cyrene (customer service specialists) who told me there was nothing that could be done. I am fairly certain Cyrene mis-represented herself as a manager. When I asked her title, she used "specialist" then backtracked when I said I wanted a manager. This is outrageous! Worst experience ever!! Yes I got my money back (not verified yet). I didn't get my time back, my mom, aunt & sisters time back. We didn't see the show and missed a life experience. So much for a guarantee.Business Response

Box Office Ticket Sales is a global provider of event tickets, selling tickets to over 250,000 annually. We rely on a vast network of ticket suppliers to fulfill and deliver tickets to our customers. In isolated and rare instances an order cannot be fulfilled which is what happened with our customer here. While our customer has requested tickets to another date of ********, our supplier that was responsible does not have additional tickets and has therefore already processed a refund in full (see attached). We understand and agree that the timing of our ticket supplier cancelling this order was less than ideal, we have implemented an additional credit to be used on our website boxofficeticketsales.com in the amount of $****** which can applied toward the use of a future purchase for any event, in any city of our customers choosing. We believe that the full refund and **% "store credit" should satisfy our customers complaint and resolve the issue

I am rejecting this response because: attached is one screenshot in which I was guaranteed I would get the tickets by showtime. That screenshot was taken at 1:21 p.m. on day of event. I should have screen shot all the conversations as that was 1 of at least 3 guarantees made within the 48 hours leading to the event. One in which I specifically asked if I should be worried?There are other tickets available. Just not through you. It would require you going to ******** ******* ******* authentic site. It would just cost you financially to do the right thing, which I do not anticipate.
Yes, I received a refund. That wasn't the point of buying tickets. And why on earth would I use your services again? The offer you provided is meaningless. I wouldn't/couldn't trust I would get access to another event. That is an empty offer by your organization.

Having sold tickets to well over 1,000,000 customers and being in the resale ticket industry for well over 15 years neither our company or our competitors would agree to this and our customer knows it. There are very few tickets available from the venues website 95% of which happen to be resale tickets as well. I purchased tickets to a ***** ******** concert back in November 18,2022 from this site which I knew was a resale website. Not a big deal because I’ve purchased form ***** *****, **** **** and other site before and have never had an issue. They stated tickets were transferred to me the same day. I opened the email and tried to retrieve the tickets with no avail. I logged in multiple time to my ************ website and there were no tickets, I then logged into my **** ****** account and no tickets there. I promptly contacted their customer service and was told they would retransfer them and it did not work. I called them back again and they said there was a freeze on the retransfer and would not be able to do it until april 2023. I asked for my money back since they weren’t able to provide me the tickets. They said per the policy there were no refunds, but assured me they would get the tickets to me and not to worry. I believed them and waited until a week before the concert and still no tickets. I called this week on Thursday 4/20, 4/21 and 4/22 and 4/23. They stated an email was sent to retransfer the tickets and to just keep calling back. Here it is 4/23 2023 at night and still no tickets. Mind you the concert is sun another state, I need to travel 5 hours to attend this concert. They are not giving me any other options and time has run out for me to get a hotel and travel all that way with no tickets. They are refusing a refund, but they have been putting me off since I purchased these tickets. I’ve followed everything they have asked me to do, I just don’t see how it is fair to not receive a refund if they could not get these tickets to me. I paid $*** dollars, that’s a lot of money to just let go because they don’t want to help me resolve this issue, they state the “tickets are 100% guarantees.” I just would like a resolution to this since I did not receive the tickets purchased.Business Response

Box Office Ticket Sales has reviewed the complaint filed by our customer and have reviewed all of the communications they've had with the customer service team since they completed their purchase:
2/8/23 - 2 Tickets in section ***** * were purchased. It should be noted that section *** is merely referenced as Club Level seating.
NOTE: As a resale marketplace, every customer must agree to the seat location prior to completing their checkout which include notes from the seller who owned these seats. The seller merely listed the tickets as section *** *** * and did not list any additional amenities
2/27/23 - customer reaches our service team by stating they may not be able to attend the game do a family emergency. The customer is advised all sales are final and was told they could resell tickets if needed
2/28/23 - customer reaches our service team again and states that they did not receive club seats and they had spoken to someone previously who the customer has claimed advised them they would have unlimited food and beverages included with their purchase. This claim is utterly false. The customer spoke to no one at our company about this and would have been told that at this quality of seat, no additional amenities would be included.
Our customer continues to make false claims about bait and switch. The customer financed their purchase through ********** who closed the complaint in our favor siting the customer was in the wrong. As such, we consider this complaint closed and no refund will be providedCustomer Answer

This customer is 1000% in the wrong here. You can see from the attached screen shot of the primary ticket seller venue map, section *** *** * are regular seats. there is absolutely zero mention on the primary sellers seat descriptions about these being ***** Club Seats and as we previously stated a seat or seats at this price point would never included unlimited food or drinks. We have attached the sellers notes too which this customer agreed to that these are just regular seats. There is no bait and switch and the BBB needs to close this complaint forthwith. I’m not sure why I’m being charged for shipping. They aren’t shipping anything and I don’t know what the “other expenses” are.

I was told by Chris * that these tickets were in a closer section, so I approved the purchase, via phone. I assume they have the conversation recorded. Chris also told me that I would be able to sell the tickets, but Box Office Ticket Sales refuses to give me my tickets or seat numbers until September, 48 hours before the event. I have no way to confirm that these are real. They have given me a section and a row, but refuse to tell me what my seat numbers are. I cannot sell them without the seat numbers.

I purchased concert tickets because Chris * told me they were in a closer section and now Box Office Ticket Sales is refusing to give me those tickets or seat number, before September 2023. I can not sell them or conform that they are real.

If this was not a predatory practice, you would make the recorded phone calls available (without court order) for everyone to review, the Better Business Bureau and the bank investigators. On 3/27/23 I purchased tickets from box office. Upon hearing the exorbitant price I asked if I could purchase the tickets any other way. The agent said I could not. This was the only venue. They both price gouged and falsified the information about where I could purchase tickets. The sales person also named the seats that she said I would get. Again a falsification. The better business bureau can close their eyes, but this is clearly predatory ticket sales. I have since found that these tickets can be purchased directly at a fraction of the cost for better seats and this company was not holding the tickets they presumed to sell me. Box Office Ticket Sales is a leading resale marketplace. We vehemently dispute our customers claims. At no time did we ever indicate that a consumer could only buy from our company. Box Office Ticket Sales has transparent pricing. All fees including the price of tickets, service fees, delivery fees and any applicable taxes are clearly itemized at checkout and must be agreed to by all customers including this one before authorizing their purchase . The time to question these fees was before completing the checkout process and not afterwards. Our terms and conditions which were also agreed to prior to completing their purchase clearly state that all our customers know we are not the venue, that tickets may be sold above face value and that all sales are final. This consumer gave consent to complete their purchase and as such, no refund will be provided and we consider this matter closed
