I have gotten over 1k of money taken out of my account. My account gets charged $19 3x a month when I was told by ***** that I wouldn’t be charged until January so we could resolve this issue. I have been trying to figure this issue out since September or before then and ***** never reaches back out to me even after my trainer reached out and even a close friend reached out to him that goes to that gym.I have the recipes for every transaction and their is prof over 1k has been taken from me, all my other transactions went towards my training.Initial Complaint

I had been a member of Blue Moon Fitness, formerly Golds Gym for over 20 years. The business was closed suddenly and they sold my checking account information to 24 hour fitness who has been charging me for a monthly membership I did NOT agree to. The owners of Blue Moon are fraudulent in their actions and refuse to rectify the situation. Very disappointing for a company to do this after so many years of doing business with them.Initial Complaint

In December of 2019 I had signed up for a membership to this gym because it was closer than going to the gym on base. When I arrived at the location, it did not have the amenities that were described on the website. I had signed up for the diamond membership because of the several amenities that were described. I visited 1 time and decided to cancel the membership. The staff were unhelpful and slightly rude. They insisted I don't cancel and made several excuses why I couldn't. Eventually, a staff member told me the system they use to cancel a membership was down and said I would have to come back to try again. I refused and they finally agreed and told me they would take my information and cancel the membership when the system came back up. Unfortunately, I trusted them. I realized a few months ago that they never actually cancelled my membership and it had been billing to an account I don't keep great track of. I have a billing account that pulls enough money from an attached savings and all my bills auto pull from it. I don't review every bill that hits the account so the charges went unnoticed. Because of this, I didn't notice that money being pulled every other week. Because this was half my fault for not double checking, I am only requesting a 50% refund. I have attempted contacting this location several times and they are ignoring me. When I made the initial complaint, they required me to come in again and cancel. I received the same treatment as I did the first time. The staff member was abrasive and seemed annoyed I was cancelling and asked me several questions about why. At one point the staff member made the comment "Sorry to ask, It just doesn't look like you're using another gym". I have sent 2 follow up requests to this gym that have went unanswered. I cancelled my membership with blue moon in bellevue. blue moon gave me a receipt and stated that i would still be liable for the remainder of the month, which i agreed to. several months later I recieved a collection notice from a law firm. after several weeks of trying to resolve the problem with the blue moon manager at bellevue she stated that there was nothing she could do and I would just have to pay the collection firm even though she admitted that it was a blue moon accounting problem.Initial Complaint

I was a member for several years. Without warnng I went to the Blue Moon gym (1241 No. 48th Lincoln Nebraska) and was told the doors would close forever in 2 days. They wanted me to fill out papers to transfer the membership to ******* ******** I did not fill out any papers and I did not agree to transfer. I do not attend ******* ******** But now ******* ******* is calling my phone repeatedly saying I owe them money. Now they say I owe them past due money and they want to send my name to collections. They have produced no written proof that I owe them money. Blue Moon broke the agreement (if there even was an agreement) and ended their business without warning. They did not inform me of any cancellation procedures. I never agreed to transfer, I want nothing to do with ******** ******** and I do not believe they can provide any written proof that I owe ******* ******* any money. I want them to stop harassing me and quit trying to get money from me.Customer Answer

I have received written confirmation from ABC and ******* ******* (I was formerly a member of Blue Moon Fitness) that my membership is cancelled and my account is settled.
I would like to end this complaint since ABC / ******* ******* have provided a satisfactory resolution.

I have been trying since July 27th 2023 to cancel my membership with this gym........they told me I was good to go and all I had to do was pay the balance of my dues and it would be canceled. 2 weeks after canceling my account and paying the final bill they tried charging me again for another monthly fee. Luckily my card on file had expired so all it did was sent me a notification that they tried charging my declined (expired) card. So I called them and the employee on the phone told me their manager on site ******* would give me a call later that week. A few more weeks went by and now my fee had doubled and they tried charging me again.......this went on for the next 6 weeks and everytime it happened I started going into the club to talk to employees and it wasn't until these last 2 times that I went in on 9/22 and 10/4 that I decided to start documenting and taking down names of who I talked to as everytime I talked to somebody they told me they had taken care of it and I would no longer have any issues. Tessa is the one I talked to last on 10/4 and she told me she would get with her manager to get it resolved and they would call me. I have yet to hear anything from them and am still receiving notices that my account is outstabding. Today I am still receiving phone calls from an automated number, text messages, and they are still trying to charge my old/expired card. The amount they are trying to charge me is $44 and it began around $10.00 but keeps rising with late fees and monthly fees even though i canceled my account months ago. All I am asking is to have this issue resolved and not have to be harassed anymore as I feel I have went above and beyond to try and resolve this and they have done nothing on their part to try and figure out/fix this issue!!Initial Complaint

As of July 2023 the Bluemoon fitness location offered a BOGO deal as an early black friday buy one, get one year membership for 200$ which I purchased on July 21st 2023 for 213.43$. As of September 13th I learned that Bluemoon was closing the lincoln location and the last day was Friday September 15th 2023 and they had transferred all memberships to ******* ******* on 26th Superior Lincoln Location. I went in store, called, and texted the manager at this location wanting a refund and to cancel my membership immediately stressing I did not want to be transferred and had no wish or desire to use ******* ******* and wanted my membership refunded and remaining 20 personal training sessions for 500$ and was told nobody knew how to do this and gave absolutely no solution or answers. Feel this was all a horrible trick before closing and they're literally trying to make this as difficult as possible and steal my money I'm due back since they couldn't honor what was purchased. I did not agree, sign, or authorize any transfer to another company, and don't feel this is legal or right that I've had to wait and fight this hard.
Today is September 21st 2023 and I've now spoken to a manager ***** in Omaha that said he'd help figure this on Tuesday September 19th and no response since. I've emailed all the official email addresses for lincoln, omaha, and office at Bluemoon and only response I received was to go to ******* ******* and work it out.
Went to ******* ******* today still September 21st and spoke to the manager there ***** and she said they are not the ones to refund this as Bluemoon was the one who took payment.. This is horrible and I'm still trying to get in contact with CEO **** ****** with no luck. If refunded I'll consider all this fair and delete this official complaint but at this time I've told ***** to cancel whatever membership was transferred to ******* ******* and still waiting and hopeful **** or Bluemoon Fitness will make this right. I prepaid for a year-in-full contract with Blue Moon Fitness on ** ***** Lincoln on 9/7/23. Ten days later the gym was permanently closed.
The owner, **** ******, of Omaha, Nebraska absolutely refuses to refund my money and has been quite rude. He is a poor businessman.Initial Complaint

My contact was for 8.99 a week, full benefits excluding one on one training. In order to get one on one training I would have to pay 19.99 a week or 70$ per session. I agreed to try training and was never seen by a trainer or received training. I’ve tried calling to resolve this and no manager was available, I left my number and never received a call back. I tried “contact us” on their website twice and received no response. I have been charged 70$ twice along with two charges of 19$ and change. So I would like a refund off the full 180$ and return to my 8.99 a week contract.
