I bought the cancer policy for my husband because there is history in the family. My husband ended up being diagnosed after. We were sure that this would be a supplement for some of the medical bills as stated.
They sent us a letter after claims were filed and my husband had surgery. Only to inform us the policy was being cancelled and all preminums i had paid would be refunded. This is heartbreaking as i trusted this company would pay. Do not they lie

Horrific. they take advantage of disabled people; watch out if you are a vet. their team is young unsympothetic with 0 empahy they are so nice at first till they get you then they ignore you and treat you very badly especially if you are disabled DO NOT GO TO THIS COMPANY IF YOU ARE A DISABLED VET THEY DO NOT UNDERSTAND - a bunch of 20 somethings with ? no empathy. The only reason they have five stars is because they hired a company to make that happen. Some of us are not STUPID! Cannot Understand Normal Thingking!

Don't trust Mutual of Omaha to be there when you need them. My husband purchased a small life insurance policy and was upfront with them that he had a previous heart attack, hence the small, term policy. He also got an accidental death rider on his policy. He was killed in an accident at work 6 months later. Mutual of Omaha cancelled the life policy saying he hadn't told them about his heart (he had) and refused to pay anything even though his death had nothing to do with his heart. It was a way to not pay. By cancelling the life policy, they cancelled the accidental death rider. Yeah. Not a fan.

Only one star cause there’s no option for negative zero. Awful company to ever trust a loved ones life insurance with. As a new policy holder we went in hoping for the best and ease. Once the policy was set with an initial date of payment that would occur monthly. I was assured it was okay to make the first payment early. After making the first payment the company went into my account to access more funds. I spoke with both my bank and the company to have the issue resolved. My bank was understanding the company was more than awful. Customer service had a nasty attitude and even said “well you took it upon yourself to go in a make a payment” I was then transferred to supervisor who picked up and immediately tried to sale me a policy. After explaining the problem he assured me that the second withdrawal attempt should not have happened. Once the conversation was over I was hopeful it was resolved. Later that night the company went into my account again understanding that today is May 24 and my billing date is set up for the 25th of each month. Aside from that I’ve already payed this month in advance only to have the company go into my account twice trying to take a second payment for the month. I finally called to cancel the policy only to be told that it was a banking error. The representative was very rude and was speaking over me not allowing me to speak. I was assured that there was no corporate number and that he was in fact a part of corporate. After calling again to gain access to corporate a representative answered, on speaker sounding like she was at home in the bathroom. We asked if she was corporate she paused, sounded as though she was busy and then gave out a slow and elongated no. Worse experience ever lesson learned just personally save your money in general at least you’ll know you can trust the funds to be there when needed.

Feeling extremely frustrated with a short term disability claim through my employer. I am 6 weeks post bilateral knee replacement surgery and have spent most of the time stressed out about finances. I will definitely be canceling a policy that I pay for and get nothing but aggravation and disappointment from. I would have been much better off setting up a savings account for emergencies such as this. Live and earn. I’ll be sure to let my coworkers know not to waste their money.

My mother moved to another address. Her mail was returned back to Mutual of Omaha. They in turn sent a letter in March 2023 to confirm her new address. The payment premium was also included. The letter was dated March 17th and the premium was due on March 12th. I called the company and they stated it was still okay to mail the payment. The payment was mailed and cashed by Mutual of Omaha. In April she was denied coverage stating her payment was too late.

I would not recommend anyone to use them. We applied for our short term disability insurance we had with them and later on let them know we where getting SSDI and they told us it would not affect our claim. Now they are say we owe them back payment. This is ridiculous when we where up front with them and it was a mistake on their part. We have to pay them back. I would not ever use them or recommend anyone to ever use them.

I believe 1 star is too high for Mutual of Omaha Long Term Care My father in law has had his policy since 2003 with rate increases every step of the way. He now needs to collect (since he is doing in home hospice) on the policy, which we have been fighting since 8/4/2022. Still have not been notified of a care coordinator nor have we received an approval letter, and the benefit claim specialist is NEVER available. We have asked specific things about the policy and they deny deny deny until we found the policy and have had to point out all the extra benefits that he qualifies for. Shady company and even shadier employees DO NOT ever buy a long term care policy from Mutual of Omaha - if they still even offer one.
