When I first got this Warranty back in about 2010, it was the greatest. Service was great and everything. We would have service scheduled usually within 24 hours and if it would be longer, we had the option to find a service provider that could get there sooner. Also, the replacement times were never up to ************************************************************************************** something, but communication was good as well.Fast forward to a few years back, not sure of the date. I received a welcome package from the new owners (very impressed). It included an Amazon ***** and some other cool things. I was hopeful that the change would be comparable to the high standard of service I had been having or maybe even better.......Unfortunately, this is not the case. My two most recent claims took over a week to get a technician to come out. Then on this last claim for my refrigerator, it was over a week for the technician to get there. Refrigerator is not repairable. I agreed to a replacement cost less than what I can get a comparable one for. Then to have to wait up to 30 days to get the funds. I have lost food and it is ridiculous that they don't have a better plan in place for people who lose major appliances that truly affect their day to day lives. The previous owners would have had a refrigerator ordered and delivered within a day or two, no more than a week, and I am basing this off of my personal experience. To this day I still don't have a refrigerator or a check to get one. This claim started on January 2, ****. Today is February 6, ****.

I am writing to file a formal complaint against Home Warranty of America regarding their refusal to cover the damages incurred to my property as a result of a leaking roof and subsequent ceiling damage. I hold a Platinum coverage policy with them, which explicitly includes coverage for "Unknown Pre-Existing Conditions" and "Unknown Insufficient Maintenance." Despite the coverage outlined in the policy and a home inspection that confirmed coverage, Home Warranty of America has unjustifiably denied my claim, citing the reason that the damage pertains to the roof.According to the terms of my Platinum coverage policy, it explicitly covers "Unknown Pre-Existing Conditions" and "Unknown Insufficient Maintenance." The home inspection conducted prior to purchasing the policy confirmed that the damages in question were covered under the policy. ***'s denial of coverage is contradictory to the terms outlined in the policy.*** has refused to cover the damages, citing that it involves the roof. It is essential to highlight that the denial is inconsistent with the policy, which includes coverage for unknown pre-existing conditions. The denial based solely on the nature of the damaged component raises concerns about the integrity and fairness of their claims process. In addition to denying the claim, Home Warranty of America is insisting that I pay for a consultant for the air conditioning (AC) system to assess the damage. This requirement seems unnecessary and burdensome, considering the clear coverage outlined in the policy and the home inspection report.I have attempted to resolve this matter amicably with Home Warranty of America, but their unwillingness to honor the terms of the policy has left me with no alternative but to seek assistance from the Better Business Bureau.I request that Home Warranty of America reconsider its denial of coverage for the damages to my property and fulfill their contractual obligations as outlined in the Platinum coverage policy.

Took $75 to start a claim. They send out a contractor who proceeds to cut a hole in our neighbors drywall and end up declining the claim. Refusing to clean up the mess they created to our neighbor.

Home warranty of America. Is a fraud they offer full coverage to me to fix or replace but this is the 3rd. time that I have had to deal with them and they found a way to avoid fixing or replacing now I have an issue with my furnace they have to replace the motor they sent me an email saying we can't fix or replace it due to maintenance, the person who increases my policy for full cover platinum said yes if is not working we are going to fix or replace, now they said that they are not going to replace the motor but I paid every month my policy I feel like that I was wasting my money and my time, they were stilling my money, paying for nothing please do something.Thank you!

Daughters **** has been out for two months. Company sent out initial company to fix it and cause a fire that led into the house. They have a infant and no fix to the issue and has not been considered a emergency to them even in 17 degree weather. They have had at least three companies come out and recommended the **** needs replaced but *** keeps sending people out for a second opinion knowing its the same result. If anyone has their corporate number let me know. Worst company ever.

Attempted a service last spring for plumbing issue and was denied by company saying the water spigot are not covered. Only cover piping inside the walls of the structure even though the pipe that busted was inside the residence the "cause" was the external spigot. NOW a 4 yr old $1000 washing machine goes out and after waiting nearly 2 weeks for technician, the company offers a $343 dollar E gift card to ONE vendor, *****, that after reluctantly accepting I'm advised it may take 30 days to receive. So I am possibly without a 4 yr old Maytag washer for 6 weeks and get 1/3 value of the machine and that compensation I have to wait on up to 30 days to spend at 1 retailer that usually has highest price in the area on appliances.

This company does not live up to its hype! I live in a remote area where it is difficult to get good repair service prompting me to buy this insurance. After turning in a claim and waiting more than a week for a response I was told that a repairman for my septic system was not available to HWA and told me to hire a repairman and then have him provide me with an estimate of the problem and costs. While the repairman waited I was to download this information on the internet and wait for a approval of the repair. After the approval of the costs I was to upload my paid bill and *** would pay the remainder. I did not make the repairman wait as it was a cold and rainy day and I wanted my alarm on my septic to stop ringing. I submitted the invoice and was denied payment as an estimate and appraisal was not filed. The payment was denied. This company has written into its contract hurdles that just make it hard to get reimbursed.

Dishonest company that hires dishonest contractors.

HWA scheduled a contractor for Tuesday. Contractor texts asking if can come Monday due to hot water heater leaking. One day sooner to fix a leak sounds like a good thing. He sends a third party water remediation company that removes the water heater and tears out drywall, trim and carpet in the house then sends a bill for $1700. The next day we get a text from the "sister company" wanting to do repairs at a cost of over $5000. Water heater is still not replaced and HWA sends a non-covered charges bill for $540 that must be accepted before the original contractor will put in a new water heater. HWA says there is no itemization of the charges, it is a flat fee agreed to with the contractor and our only option is to deny and pay for the full repair ourself. When I asked for a different, honest, contractor that had a reasonable uncovered cost, HWA says they can't do that and the charge is a standard HWA charge. It's been over a week and still no hot water.

It's going to cost me approx $800 to have a local plumber replace the water heater after a week of fighting with HWA with no resolution.

Because of the additional charges, dishonest and additional damage by companies that should have never been onsite it would have cost over $7000 with HWA. This is a dishonest company that is not only allowing contractors to cheat customers, but HWA themselves are abusing customers.

Absolute GARBAGE of a company. I would give it 0 stars if that was possible. Does not care about the customer at all or attempting to listen to concerns. I am disappointed that I have to deal with this company for the next year due to the policy being handed to us at closing. The appeals department, ****************** and **************, was rude and told me it was my fault that the claim would not be approved. I would advise you to avoid this home warranty company like the plague. Disgusting.

Home warranty of America. Should not be able to due business in the state of KS. I now that this is possible. They have a record of fraud with customers and you are aware of those complaints. They cost me $1200. I had no recourse we lived without a refrigerator for weeks no repair man available, then wrong part. Then left all groceries freezer foods and parts removed and walked out.
