      This is the worst company ever. My AC claim was denied. The case manager was rude and unprofessional. I have been with HWA since 2009. They are in the business of denying claims. I am seeking legal advice about a class action lawsuit. They are taking our premium every month and denying claims.

      Worst home warranty company. I waited 2 weeks to get a plumber. Waited 2 weeks to have a 20 year old oven repaired that should have been replaced. Now, my central air isn't working, it's 90 degrees outside, and they scheduled service for 10 days from now. Their network of repairmen is sorely lacking. I'll be cancelling service and finding a new company. Just awful. Do not use this company.

      I filed two claims with Home Warranty of America. The first was for an oven. The tech came almost a week after our oven stopped working. He said he needed to order parts and that the earliest he had to come back was three. Then the part he needed was backordered for an unknown amount of time. We had to buy an oven so we could cook. *** refused to cover any costs because the oven was determined to be repairable, even if not in the foreseeable future. This wasn't too terrible.Then our AC went out. I waited several days until *** sent an email saying that they could not find a technician and to go ahead and find my own. We found one who came out to assess the system. They determined that a new system was needed because of all the holes in the evaporator coils and issues with the blower motor. I called HWA to determine how to proceed. The agent said I need to submit a claim after the work is done and HWA will determine if.amd how much will be refunded. I brought up to the agent that if this is the case than they can just deny every claim. This agent would not provide an approval or disapproval. I then got a second opinion who also determined it needed replacing. I got the system replaced and filed the claim with supporting paperwork. I called again when I hadn't heard anything for over a week. The agent now told me I would not be reimbursed because *** did not approve the repair, even after following the previous agent's instructions. This company is a scam. They create situations which entrap the customer to void the **********************.

      I purchased my first home 1 year ago and requested a home warranty policy as part of the closing process. I wish I had done more research and avoided this company completely. 1.) They cover almost nothing. I entered 1 claim and they denied it. 2.) You have to use technicians that THEY choose. The person who came to my house actually damaged my ceiling then completed ghosted me when I tried to schedule work. 3.) They have called me every single day for the last two weeks. They have emailed me repeatedly, texted me, sent me things in the mail. ******** me now for weeks trying to get me to renew my contract. AVOID THEM AT ALL COSTS.

      With literally every claim weve had except one, they never dispatched a technician. They just say to keep waiting. After months of harassing them they finally tell me the claims expired and we need to file all over again. When they finally did get a tech out (6th claim!), they DENIED it saying the plumber told them he couldnt do the work but they in fact told *********** they wouldnt accept his diagnosis and would reassign the claim to someone else who would be willing to do what they wanted (which wouldnt fix the issue). They outright lied to us about what the plumber told them (he was in our home when speaking to them), and they eventually just told my husband their worry is not our plumbing emergency, their worry is saving themselves money (yes, a manager literally told him this). Simply put they are a worthless company. Theres NOTHING they will provide. Its a waste of hundreds of dollars.

      I filed a claim for a leaking bathroom sink Home Warranty of America. They sent out a plumber. He advised them the sink was leaking and it needs to be replaced with the faucets to avoid further leaks in the future. The case manager denied the claim due to a tecnicality in the wording of the policy. I have been with this company since 2017 and now I need to submit a claim and the claim is denied for approximately $400. I had to pay the plumber $100 to come out. They gave me the run around. I talked to several agents and finally talked to a Case Manager. She said the claim would be paid. The plumber called again and said he received an email stating the claim is denied. I called and spoke to another Case Manager and she said the claim was denied. This is one of the worse companies I have ever dealt with. It's very difficult reaching someone to talk to and they have terrible customer service.

      AC/Furnace was deemed irreparable when I had annual maintenance done in May. Filed a claim, waited for a vendor to be assignedcrickets. Finally after two days I called and they had no vendors available. I found my own which was half the price of the first quote I received. Very nice sole proprietor but he doesnt break down costs exactly as they required and doesnt use a computer so I was trying to help walk him through the process. Ive had my policy for 7+ years and 95% of claims, I have had to find my own contractor because they never have any available. My policy said they pay $5,000 for a replacement and they refused to pay the full amount because my contractor couldnt provide the cost breakdown exactly as they wanted it. My claim was escalated and still through all the hours, phone calls, texts, emails etc. the most they would pay was $3,500. I understand some was better than nothing but if you are going to be a ******** on following policy language then you need to follow it even when its not in your favor. Horrible customer service, no vendors available ever. If you are looking to throw pay several hundred a year away and handle claims yourself, then this is your company. I would NEVER recommend using this company!! Horrible, greedy company with poor management.

      It's has taken one month and still counting to get my Tankless water heater fixed all this place does is Make excuses and apologize **** times for a business that *****. What ever you do. Do Not do Business with this company.

      I have had HWA for just over a year now, and recently renewed for the second year. I would not recommend this company to anyone, as they do not seem to cover any claim! I placed a claim in April after our main water valve began leaking, they claimed it was a pre existing issue so they declined to fix it. Even after providing them with the home inspection that occurred in March where the valve was in working order, they claimed it was too big of a time gap between March and April and therefor the rust buildup on the valve is now the cause for the claim denial. ********************* or time on this company as they will not reimburse you or pay for any claims!

      They still have not been able to reach them. They are not picking up the phones and keep them on an automated loop and then hang up after a while. I just purchased it yesterday and its the worst thing you could have. They do not help and have been avoiding all the calls. Go with some one else as this company is about stealing folks money.
