1 starThis company is a scam. Last year, called in a request as my air conditioner unit was not cooling. Took several days for the technician to come out and diagnose the problem. Following this, it took over 3 weeks for them to schedule a time to fix the a/c. Mind you, this is in 100 degree weather. Called again yesterday. Over 24 hours, we have not received a technician appointment. Spoke with a supervisor who was not helpful and had no answers for me on when a technician will come out. I will NEVER recommend this company to anyone. Its a joke/scam, and should not be allowed to be in business.Review fromEbo M

1 stari had problem with my toilet and decided to call on my Home warranty company for help, my first time of using the service. I paid the $100 appearance fee to the plumber on arrival. He fixed a portion of the problem I submitted and told me he needed approval for the second portion.I called after three days and was told the claim has been approved so I should expect the plumber to come and complete the job. After one week nobody came so I called again only to be told that a part is missing in the toilet set up so it does not qualify to be fixed. The plumber never mentioned any missing part when he came to my home. I feel cheated and duped. This company has to be held accountable for bringing the business of warranty insurance into disrepute.Review fromSharon S

1 starIn 8/22, my GE High Profile Over the Range Microwave and Convection Oven wasn't working. We contacted *** and got an appointment in Sept. with a technician. The technician found a bad circuit board. We paid the required $100 fee. We received a letter stating that the best solution from HWA was to replace the microwave. We were offered a gift card to Lowes for $120. I challenged this and sent info with the model number of our microwave from Lowes web site, and valued at $1,600. A case manager named ******* was assigned to review the claim, and offered $403. She stated we couldnt expect retail replacement costs and that HWA had their own pricing system. The offer doesnt come close to an equivalent replacement. We asked about other payment options, a different store with a better price, and were told no. We asked for a check so we could go where we wanted. Again we were told no. We asked if it was legal that they were forcing us to buy only at Lowes and could only use a gift card to that place as our only option. This appears to be illegal and unfair. With that said, we used the gift card at Lowes and paid a LOT of our own money. ******* did not return our calls once we had no other option but to agree, so we could get some financial reimbursement. I called the regular phone number and spoke to customer service. They got in contact with ******* and they told me the $403 gift card was approved. ******* called back 20 minutes later. I told her it was all taken care of with customer service since she wouldnt return my phone calls, to which she replied that customer service cant approve it, only she could. They are JUST customer service, she said. Several weeks and more phone calls to ******* where we left messages, we finally received the gift card, about 1 month later. We purchased a similar microwave on 11/6/22. A long time, lot of hassle, questionable payment methods, unfair replacement pricing, unreturned messages, and an unpleasant experience.Review fromTaylor R

1 starThis company is a scam. Everything takes longer than it should. Our heater broke and it took over 2 weeks for someone to come fix it it. They hire horrible vendors and cant provide answers. Its nice to have for piece of mind but not at all worth the hassle you endure if you need to use the policy you pay for. Waste of money. DO NOT USE!!Review fromSteven T

1 starThis company is a complete disgrace and joke! Luckily I didn't pay for warranty, seller of the home we purchased did. I will not waste another ***** with this company. These companies HWA uses have to be some type of shell companies off of HWA. When you speak to HWA, it doesn't matter what you tell them. They will always side with "technicians." Even when you prove the technician is at fault! I spoke to 3 different Air conditioning companies regarding the technicians responsibilities and duties of diagnosing issues with my system. All of which have stated, Air conditioning units do not consume or burn Freon/refrigerant. The only way possible according to the 3 additional companies I spoke with to be low on Freon would be a leak somewhere within the closed loop system. Technician arrived at my home about 5:15 p.m. CST on Thursday March 30, 2023, he put his set of pressure gauges on my system. He stated initially that I was 2.5-3 pound of Freon low. He then should have troubleshot the system looking for a leak of freon, looking at both the inside and outside units. He not once got into the attic to inspect inside unit. He then proceeded in saying, that a lot of times low Freon readings are due to dirty coils. Upon cleaning coils, he then determined my unit was a little over 4 pounds of freon low. He never weighed the bottle of freon, I watched every step he made. That should've been a red flag. He then again did nothing to troubleshoot why the system was low. He proceeded to fill the system with *****. Mind you he claimed that cleaning the system it would improve my Freon levels do not diminish them. *** took upon themselves to send another Tech today without my consent. When I received email, it stated I was going to have to pay another 100$. Called them told them, Im not paying a dime. To my astonishment they agreed. Can't wait to see what this Tech has to say. Its been a week since last tech came.Review fromNaomi S.

1 starHorrible to deal with. Takes forever for someone to get the problem fixed. My sink faucet needs to be replaced and Home Warranty is wanting to replace it with a cheap plastic sink which is definitely not what I have now. Took over 4 months to get a refrigerator when mine went out.Review fromSherri L.

1 starThis company is a scam and a fraud. We have paid out hundreds of dollars in service fees only to get the run around from technicians and HWA We have now paid out of pocket for a new dishwasher and repair on the washing machine. Went a year with out a dishwasher because HWA couldnt get their ducks together. We have now paid 500 out of pocket for a local business to come repair the washer. Do not use this company!! This is nothing but a scam and they need to be stopped.Review fromStephen P

1 starOur policy with HWA began when we purchased our home in early 2021. Initially we thought it was a good way to invest in a piece of mind and help absorb the unforeseen cost of repair/replacing appliances. So much that we renewed the policy up until its renewal this year. In December of 2022 (and yes a few days before the holiday) we experienced an issue with our furnace not functioning properly. We filed a claim with *** and after 48 hours (mind you in ******** with no heat), we were told WE had to find a licensed technician to come out and diagnose the issue because they couldnt find a technician (within their network of partnered technicians to come out. So we did. The technician came out and said the blower motor was the issue and that the unit was likely emitting CO2 so would have to be condemned (age of unit and smell of odor in the air). Where *** didnt do anything, the technician we hired to come out, saddened that we couldnt fix the issue, left and came back with space heaters. It was a generous gesture considering it was in the dead or winter and a family with 2 small kids. He helped us with the claim, which we were told we would get a modest $150. Did we get it? No! We hired a local company and replaced the unit ourselves. They are the true unsung heroes not ***. My suggestion to anyone is not walk but RUN away from any advertisement from HWA. Truly a waste of money and you are not getting what you think you are getting. I for one, wasnt expecting a new unit but transparency and assistance. And I might add, dont expect to get through to customer service (they dont even have managers that you can speak to) and if your are lucky enough to speak with someone, they will just apologize. No movement just motion. Stay clear.Review fromShelley J

1 starI would like to give them NO stars! Constantly getting the run around for a water heater that won't light. The technician came out and found a leak. The company keeps telling me that additional info is required from the technician which the technician provided. The claim was started 2/13/23 and is still unresolved as of 3/17/23!!!Review fromTim M

1 starWe have used them for the past 2 years now and everything was fine until this last time. Our furnace went out on 3/7/23 and first guy came out and said we needed a new mother board and it would take about a week to order and he didn't want us to have to wait. Our claim got reassigned to another company who had to come out and diagnose the issue again and he came up with the same thing as the first guy which was the mother board. This time a full week has passed and I just found out that our claim got assigned again to another company for 3/17/23 which is 10 days later. I called customer service multiple times explaining that this is ridiculous and it shouldn't take this long. I ended up calling my ***** who owns his own company *********** and Cooling. They were out the next morning at 8am diagnosed that it was the mother board. Called for a part and picked it up and replaced it in about an hour. Not sure why one of their technicians couldn't do the same thing. ***'s customer service team doesn't care about you and when asked to speak with a manager they will not let you. It's like this placed is just ran by customer service reps with no leadership team in place. Can't believe they are still in business.
