I'll start off by saying this use to be decent company. Had them since about 2014 with a handfull of claims made that were handled well. Apparently, they were sold to a group that also runs Home Choice a little over a year ago. DO NOT USE EITHER ONE OF THESE COMPANIES. THEY ARE A RIP OFF. I had a built in double wall oven that took 2 companies and over a month to figure out it was "not repairable-parts unavailable". I understand that with the way thing are now. I said OK, replace it. Their response was "Oh, we don't do that anymore, but we will send a Lowes Gift card for the replacement value "for my convenience". Well, that's not very convenient. I don't like it, but I guess I can deal with it. (This way they get out of expense of paying a tech to install it.) Then they said the amount of the gift card would be $667.00. because that's how much they pay their vendors to replace a unit like what I have. (These units cannot be purchased for less than $2500.00 and that doesn't include installation.) So i requested the name of one of these vendors they use that can replace my oven so cheaply. The lady's (*****?) indignant response was "I already told you we don't replace appliances anymore". So their settlement amounts are based on an imaginary vendors quote. Wow. Just. Wow. I told her this was an unacceptable amount to which she responded that was their final (and only) offer. I still have not received any money (or gift cards for that matter), but they sure didn't miss charging my credit card for the monthly payment. This company is the definition of a scam that uses deceptive trade practices.

I have been a customer since 2019. I have had good experiences until now. My dryer has been breaking for over 6 months. They sent out a tech several times, they attempted to fix it each time (while having to pay my trade fee each time). I paid more money in trade fees than what they paid me for replacing the dryer after fixing it 5 times. I have a very expensive model dryer, they didn't even offer to replace it with a like kind instead they gave me a ****** gift card for ****** as my only option. I looked online to try to purchase another dryer close to what I had before and its 1******.

This company is a rip off, I've paid for the whole year contract, call them out for furnace issues, they sent their technician out to check out the issue, their technician said that heater exchangers were cracked. Technician sent report in that furnace needs replacing. The emailed me and called refusing to replace the furnace, stating to me that it was an previous issue when it wasn't, I just recently bought the house and furnace was inspected by inspector, and by nicor gas company, both companies found no cracks months ago, so how is *** is trying to say it's a previous issue?Don't spend your money with this rip off company their just taking our hard earned money and not holding up their part of the bargain.

Beware! Do not waste your money with this home warranty company! They companies they contract to perform the technical work are at the bottom of the barrel and it takes them forever to provide a replacement.1.) Our water heater was having issues and so HWA sent a technician to diagnose and repair the water heater. When the technicians arrived I explained to them the water heater had the same symptoms as our other water heater (we have 2) that had been repaired a few months earlier and the issue was the gas valve assy. The technician agreed that was the probable issue and ordered the part, when the technicians arrived a few days later they installed the part on the wrong water heater, the water heaters are on completely different floors of the house! When I got home from work and determined this happened, I called the install company and told them what they had done, they said the work was completed as far as they were concerned and would not be returning. I notified HWA, they sent another company, I explained everything in detail to the technicians, they didn't listen and it took them 3 times to come to my house to finally resolve the issue, replace the gas valve assy!2.) More recently our refrigerator was having issues not cooling properly. Technician came out diagnosed and ordered 2 parts, we received one part within a few days the 2nd part 3 weeks later after repeatedly calling *** and the repair company. The technician that came to install the parts said the part we had been waiting on for 3 weeks wasn't needed and was the wrong part anyway, then when he tried to install the 1st part the issue was with a plug that was hardwired in and so the refrigerator would need to be replaced. It then took them 2 weeks to receive and process the diagnosis, it then took another couple of weeks to notify us they were going to issue a replacement by sending us an e-card from Lowes. It's been 3 weeks and a total of 2+ months still no fridge. **************** is poor also.

I've paid for years and finally had a claim for a failing hot water heater that has been repaired twice and is 15 years old. They refused to replace it and the technician said it has to be replaced at this time. They will fight tooth and nail not to uphold their end of the bargain. Run folks, don't use this company, they are horrible.

Do not give HWA your money. Do not allow your realtor include an HWA warranty in your home purchase. It's a scam. The company doesn't cover ANYTHING, the contractors are useless, each house call is $100, and HWA takes DAYS to find contractors.

Submitted a claim on my hvac unit being frozen over on 12/19/22, *** promised a technician within 4 to 24 hrs, then after waiting a few days with no heat, they found one that was a no-show for 12/28/22, they expected me to go without any heat during the extreme cold spell. After the no-show, they opened the offer for me to find my own tech, when i did, they rescinded that offer and said another tech was coming 1/5/23. I still had no heat or operating hvac. What reputable warranty company would ensure to assist in protecting your home from no heat during the cold of winter to prevent further damage to other aspects of your home? Knowing i was on my own, and needed to provide heat for my home and family, I had to hire my own tech to replace the faulty unit and come out of pocket for this huge expense. *** has since denied any type of reimbursement stating they were not notified ahead of time. I have commented on the portal, made phone calls. HWA response is thank you for notifying us of your issue with customer service. I told them to not take any more payments from me since they did not intend to honor any part of the warranty package but that appears to be a major issue also as they are not able to stop taking payments when it is clear they have no intention to assist with any part of the hvac repair or replacement.

DID NOT THROW YOUR MONEY AWAY with this company. After 30 day wait period, I filed a claim. They did not have a plumber and said to hire one in my area and it would be reimbursed. Plumber came out and determined it was an ejector pump. OF COURSE they don't cover ejector pumps so claim was denied. Now I'm out $109 for the ***********. Called to cancel my warranty and they charge me $50 to cancel. This company is a RIP OFF.

We submitted a claim for a plumbing leak. First they denied it saying it was outside our home. (It was in an interior wall in the kitchen.) We appealed and then they said they would send it to a technician. A few hours later they sent an update that they were having trouble securing a tech and would allow us to secure someone and submit for reimbursement. So we called a plumber they had referred us to previously to come fix the leak which was flooding our house at this point. He began the repair process and fixed the leak. The next day I went back in to submit the reimbursement process they had put in our claim online and it said they had now secured a technician (who had not yet contacted us) and we were no longer eligible for reimbursement. When the tech did contact us 3 days later, we explained what had happened hoping we could get reimbursed and then *** updated the claim status as to resolved and never covered any part of the leak repairs. We tried appealing again but here is ***'s response to me: (01/10/23 11:59 AM) ES ***********************: Thank you for your email. Please be advised, reimbursement option is no longer available because we have already assigned *********************** to your claim and an appointment has been scheduled for Thursday, January 12th, 2023 between the hours of 11:00 AM and 03:00 PM. As a reminder, work performed without prior authorization will not be eligible for reimbursement. Please refer to your contract at my.hwahomewarranty.com for further details. Thank you for being a valued customer of ********************. THEY DO NOT VALUE ANY CUSTOMER - DO NOT BE FOOLED!

For something that is supposed to give you peace of mind this warranty company has been nothing but a nightmare. They have lied to me when I had an issue with my sump pump saying they weren't covered at which point I went to my contract and stated to them how it very clearly says they are at which point they hung up. I called again only to be told how I have reached my limit on plumbing repairs, they have done no such plumbing repairs I tell them and then they hang up again. I ended up being able to fix it myself but wait there's more. most recently I have been having issues with my electrical system where parts of my house does not have consistent power. It has been 2 months since they've been notified and after a week and a half they're technician made their way out to my house. They diagnosed the problem and claimed to have fixed the issue only for it to continue to happen at which point the tech returned and diagnosed that it was on my utility companies end which after they came over was proven clearly false. On my utilities recommendation I had the tech looked up and they are not a licensed electrician but a handyman kitchen repair person an hour away in the neighboring state. So they have breached my contract by sending an unlicensed tech and when I demanded that they send an actual electrician they said I would have to pay another service fee which also goes against my contract since repairs failed and that if I didn't want to pay the fee I would have to have the handyman come back or nothing. I finally got a appointment with a electrician from them after the handyman told them that they can't do the job only to find out the electrician can't come because apparently *** sent them the wrong address and they need the correct address for paperwork or something. the scum/ shady/ unprofessional/ unacceptable nature of this company is beyond belief and I would avoid them at all costs. As a first homeowner they've made it terrible and just want my house back.
