If I could provide negative stars I would. I was a loyal paying client for over 5 years until now. I have been fighting with them for over 2 weeks to get a washing machine fixed. The tech who did came out right away advised that they no longer make the part and the washer has to be replaced. *** keep telling me that they are waiting for the technician to make the recommendation, the technician is advising they made the report. When asked if they can send a follow up they flat out refuse to do so and said that i have to wait up to 72 hours between messages. My policy was also active when I made the claim, when I put a stop payment to my next monthly installment they advised that they would no longer be handling my claim till I made my next payment, which they added late fees that they refused to waive. My understanding was that this is a policy, and with that comes certain contractual obligations that they are required to meet. This company is sub par at best, has terrible customer service and they refuse to do anything above or beyond what their script states. The lack of empathy and real customer service is palpable.

Terrible company. Denied our claim with no proof. They claimed our furnace control board was damaged by a power surge that was not covered and refused to provide any proof of it. The contractor who inspected the furnace made no such statement.

We tried to let our yearly contract lapse and they began to charge us a monthly fee without permission. No where in our contract did it state they could or would do that. They assign case manager to any case you put in but say they only cover normal wear and tear. Normal wear and tear in my book means over time continued use has caused a product to break or age. Nope the product has to be completely not useable. Meaning it cannot turn on. All the phone numbers you try dont work. You have to file a claim in order to use the website. They're phone numbers change when they call so they come up as spam likely. Do not trust this company. Once they have your card information they'll keep charging small fees. If you go with them please keep your contract handy when you call.

They state that they only have to pay covered costs and they claim their cover costs are an amount which is ridiculously unreasonable (e.g., $1,000).No contractor can do the work for the amount that *** says it costs, but *** allows the contractors to charge for non-covered costs.*** deals with shady contractors who then create non-covered costs with things like bring up to code and then they charge the difference between what *** is paying and what it would reasonably cost to replace the appliance (e.g., $2,000).Neither *** nor the contractors will provide the customers with any details or rationalization for how they arrived at these charges, so if the customer wants *** to replace the appliance and pay for covered costs ($1,000) they are forced to pay the contractor out-of-pocket for non-covered costs (e.g., $2,000).As a result, the customer is actually paying the bulk of the expenses to replace the appliance instead of ***, who is required to do so under their contract.

I have been a member with Home Warranty of America since 2020. Their coverage was not clear when I signed on with them, and it turns out they do not support water source heat pump climate control systems. This is the system I have in my condo and it requires specific contractors for maintenance, in my area. I also prefer to use the contractor the building maintenance team uses, since they are familiar with my building system. Home Warrantee of America makes it incredibly difficult to pick my own contractor, despite knowing my specific need and has never made an effort to make this easy. I called to cancel my membership months ago, they did not cancel it and continued to take money. The *** even lied in the original call notes, saying I agreed to a discounted rate for the next month instead of the cancelation I requested. I did not know this until I received an email about billing changes. I sent an email asking why, no response, I called again this month and they agreed to cancel, refund my money and send a claim ***ayment they had been holding hostage because I did not upload documents to the correct portal (which I did not receive notification of either). I have not seen any credits from them to this day, and I had to call my bank to dispute the charges and cancel my card. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY.

**************** was rude when I filed claims. They brush off questions and have a tone of impatience. The sales *** lied about offered services when calling to renew. I asked about swamp coolers, she said it was listed right on the website.. it isn't listed anywhere on any plan, even premium services. She also hung up on me multiple times when i called back to cancel. So far two contractors have stood me up on appointments. One had no intention of showing up, and never confirmed my appointment to dispatch, and claimed they hadn't done this jobs in years and hadn't paid to be in network. The other company ghosted me twice, and Dispatch still hasn't fulfilled this claim in three months. Dispatch never told me the issue was unfulfilled, they only said it was still being worked on, i had to call to reopen the claim.

I submitted a claim and was asked for more information, so I called. After getting hung up on about 6 times I finally got to Honey. She tried to tell me that my garage door springs were not covered and to read my contract, which I did. It states that they are as I have the platinum warranty. After she argued with me, I asked for a supervisor and figured out that they were, in fact, covered. Problem solved.... ****. Now I can't get anyone to come out and fix the springs as THEY DON'T PAY THEIR VENDORS. I had another claim in June for a new garage door opener and I talked to the company that replaced it because we liked them. She informed me that they are not working with any *** right now because they never received a payment. I don't want to pay out of pocket and then have them not pay me back if that is what they do to the vendors. This *****.

I had this home warranty for several years. I'm not sure why. They have always been slow to respond and correct situations. Additionally, they send out very sketchy contractors who do work that's not necessary, and not covered by the warranty, to pad the bill. My warranty expires this November. I have spoken with customer service representatives on 3 separate occasions (most recently, 11/13/2024) to tell them I do not wish to renew as their rates have tripled over the last few years and the contractors they send are crooks. Since 10/21/2024, they have called me TWENTY ONE TIMES. It could be more, but that's as far back as my phone's call log goes. Even if I was inclined to renew, I do not do business with companies with overly aggressive sales tactics. Do yourself a favor, save up some emergency money and DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY.

Horrible service!!!! Not sure with the ** grade came from when their overall customer review rating is 1.03 out of 5. Our washing machine broke 30 days ago and to this day we have not received our Lowes credit. We are constantly being told to check our email and when I asked to speak to a manager I was advised there is nothing managers can do. I called on the 31st day as the agent mentioned they will not escalate this to accounting and should be resolved in 24 hrs. I called two days later and still being told my claim is with accounting. I will continue to call.Buyers beware!!!! Do not use this company

I try not to write negative reviews, but working with HWA has been miserable and I feel the need to warn others. At this point we have filed 2 claims, $100 each. The first claim for a broken part in a washer, the second claim for a **** outlet. Both were denied. The first because broken parts are not replaced if there is damage due to "accident, natural, or other causes". Wear and tear is considered "Natural" so, broken parts are not covered for any reason. The second was denied due to it needing "wire tracing". We had reviewed the report submitted by the technician, and it failed due to old age and never mentioned needing wire tracing. Each time when talking with the claim agents, when I asked for some clarification, they got rude and condescending. Making us feel stupid like we could never understand and intimidating us to not question them. From our experience, the policy is written with loopholes so they don't need to replace anything, and there is something shady going on with normal claims. There was nothing about wire tracing in the report the technician had us read, so not sure when or by whom that got added. But even if the claims were not covered, there is really no excuse for them to speak to us in the way that they did. It always happened once we asked a question they didn't want to answer. Then they flipped a switch. After both calls with 2 different agents, I ended up in tears. I don't understand why they were so mean. My guess is to keep us from asking too many questions. They really don't want to provide coverage so beware.
