We have a HELOC that is being paid off, and were experiencing frustration in the payoff statement and amount being a moving target. I am on my third trip to fax the request to close the account and set up a wire transfer.1/10/2025 **************** by phone was nice, told me my payoff balance was ~$450 to close out and authorized payment and account closure over the phone. I thought I was done.1/13/2025 Receive new payoff statement showing balance of $150 due to annual fee.1/14/2025 Receive new payoff balance in the amount of ~$650, based on $450 payment not being applied.Ive reached out via their messaging center to get closure once and for all. But I do feel like I have to personally audit all my payments and make sure they were properly applied. Its difficult to trust the companys operations overall, even if customer support team is doing their best to be helpful.

Cenlar is the WORST company to deal with. I secured a loan at the closing of my refinance. The loan was paid automatically from my bank account each month. All of a sudden they stopped withdrawing the payments without notification. When I noticed a few months later they told me there was due a BALLOON payment due which was never outlined in the original loan documentation. They are now trying to foreclose on my home because "they" REFUSED to take payments. I called them to get a payoff amount and was on the phone for 90 minutes with at least 3 different people when they finally told me what the payoff amount was. I secured the amount from my retirement funds for this payoff just to get rid of them. They offered to send me a payoff statement by email. FIVE days later, nothing was received. I spent another 30 minutes on the phone and they FINALLY sent me a payoff statement that was $6000 higher than what the balance was verbally quoted. They told me to contact their attorney, but could not provide me with a firm name or phone number, but insisted on charging me attorney fees anyway. I am now at the age of 70, retired and live solely on Social Security. They are threatening to force me out of my home.

I specialize in foreclosure prevention. Cenlar is by far, the worst servicer there is. They simply do not care about their customers, have little to no training or knowledge about the debts they service, are hard to reach, misplace and mismanage documentation, and for being the largest mortgage sub-servicer in the country, they are very poorly run, which, in my professional opinion, is done by design. If you are ever transferred to Cenlar, refinance and get out from under them as fast as you can.

Very hard to get customer service done, the *** is broken with no way to reach to real person with logical flow, have to enter same information several times. Chat communication is also tough to work with. The agents are not able to understand customer's problem and help with good experience, they are just trying to get things done fast to keep average contact duration low

I'm so frustrated with this company. My original lender Citi transferred by ***** to Cenlar and I never even got a letter or any acknowledgement till several months later. They charge me amounts which I have no idea what it is. Really need help to get out of this lender.

I would rate this company less than one star because trying to reach a real person at this company is the most frustrating and difficult experience I have had in a long time. They send the most confusing escrow statement that even their employees cant understand or explain it (although they try to fake it like they can). In exasperation, I just told the employee that I would try calling again tomorrow, (because I couldnt take the gibberish anymore). Under no circumstances would I put or keep any money in that bank. They werent always this bad, but now theyre terrible, absolutely terrible. This is the problem when your lender sells the servicing of your mortgage to another company to service. For Example, from Bryn Mawr Trust to WSFS to Cenlar. We need legislation to better protect consumers from these kinds of practices. Try calling Cenlar and all you get are a horde of buttons to press that spins you round till youre just pressing numbers to find a human voice anywhere. Then when you finally find someone, they cant help you, but they try transferring you to the right department (and them also experiencing the whirlwind of buttons to press), then connecting with a person who is just as lost as you are with the escrow statement. Kudos to the lady who hung in there with me through the transfer. She tried to get me some help and for that I am thankful. I dread it but will try again another day. But not tomorrow. I need to be ready for another spin.

The customer service is absolutely disgraceful. I had made an additional principal payment of several thousand dollars before my loan was transferred to Cenlar FSB. They have no record of receiving that payment even though my old lender can provide proof it was sent. Now, I am stuck with their incompetent customer service who do not listen to anything I tell them and repeatedly reply with the same canned response of "any payments sent to your previous lender will be forwarded to us for 2 months under federal law." When I uploaded proof of my old lender sending the payment to their customer service portal, I was given another canned response that my document was received but that it would be 15 days before an update would be provided. So for the foreseeable future I am out several thousand while that same amount accrues interest at 7.5%, since it remains unpaid towards the principal. Unbelievable.

******** company! Only giving a 1 star because it makes me. We have a ***** with this company as part of our mortgage. Every year there is an issue with the annual fee. I followed the directions of the company on 10/4/2023 to make my interest payment and once it cleared, make another payment for the annual fee, which I did. Flash forward to this year when my fee was due again, they are trying to charge me double since I didn't pay my previous years in their words. When we looked, they applied the payments to interest and not fees like we were told. I have spent countless hours on the phone with customer service, who are horrible. They say they are going to follow-up and don't. When I talk to one and they tell me the issue has been resolved and then wait a few days for my new balance to update, It doesn't and I call back and am told that that can't happen. Very rude and unethical company and I would recommend no one ever using them.

Horrible customer service! Charged us a fee for something we didn't want and are now charging a ridiculous extra fee to close the account. I will never use them! 0 stars!
