      This companies is the absolute worst. I filed a claim for my refrigerator. I described the problem to the best of my ability. The claim was denied, according to them, because the freezer isn't apart of the refrigerator. Even tho it's all one unit. They advised to to bring in my on technician to diagnose the problem. I had to pay $94 out of pocket for this. It turned out the damper control was bad. The technician gave them a price and they denied the amount. I was given an amount by Select of $227 for the total job. I ask them to send out their on technician to fix the job for that amount. I was told I would have file a new claim and pay the $75 fee for this company to diagnose the problem. Of course I refuse to do that. I advise them I would purchase the part myself and install it. I did that. I sent them the part invoice and pictures. Now they are refusing to pay me the total amount that was authorized. Of course I will be canceling my service.

      Wanted to send out a second AC repair person? I did not have time and dd not want to pay a second service call, just paid for repair out of pocket

      I would give a ZERO star if I could! RUN, they will NOT fix any major appliances. You will be out hundreds of dollars signing up and then be out hundreds/thousands of dollars to pay for your own appliances. Every conversation you have with someone is the same response "it will take 1-2 businesses days please be patient" this will go on for weeks! "I'll escalate this to the back office". They rarely have a technician available to come out, then they don't show up. They'll tell you to find your own technician and most technician you find all say the same thing " we don't work with warranty companies, they never pay out". Check ******** scam page there are hundreds of complaints. Scam! Save your money or go with another company.

      We purchased a five year home warranty plan from Select Homes on July ******* that expires on August 11, 2025 at one-time contract price of $2,124.96. The contract covered all major appliances, electrical systems, plumbing systems, heating and cooling units, ductwork, and water heater. Over the course of the five years, we have filed three (3) claims that were all denied. First, our claim to replace a sided-by-sided refrigerator was denied because we didn't file the report properly. Second, our claim to replace a ruptured water heater was denied because the failure was due to an internal water leak? We thought that all the water in the tank was internal? Finally, our A/C unit stopped running in June of this year. The technician determined that the bearings in the blower fan had frozen and needed to be replaced. Select Homes denied this claim stating that the A/C unit was not working due to "other" electrical issues! The term "other" was not explained to either the technician nor to the home owner. All other electrical systems in the house were operating including the A/C compressor, fans, and all household appliances. In addition, this claim was submitted on June 14, 2025 and the formal denial was not issued until June 24th. Any appeal would take weeks and the system (blower fan) could not be fixed until a conclusion had been reached by Select Homes. We decide to fix the unit after 10 days of 90 degree plus heat and now our system is running fine with an $800 repair bill. Our recommendation and advice is to deposit $2,100 in a money market fund to cover home repair costs rather than signing up for any home warranty plan or program with Select Homes.

      Select Home Warranty is a terrible company I had a contract with them for 3 years I first file a claim for dishwasher was told it was the electrical and I needed upgrade because amps were 119 instead of 120 and refused my claim I purchased a new one it works fine on that outlet,this winter my furnace stopped working I was told I needed proof of maintenance which I have a company that does maintenance on my air and furnace,I was offered $81 reimbursement and had to get someone else to repair it they didnt even send the service company back out I got fed up and cancelled the contract and waited for reimbursement I called and was told because I cancelled they would not issue me the reimbursement although I was under contract at time of claim

      Worst company ever!!! Stay away. No customer service. Cant find contractors to service their customers. Cant stress enough how awful my experience has been with them.

      This company scams people. They avoid the problem and string you along. I do not appreciate how this home warranty company (and others) did anything they could to avoid replacing something that needs to be replaced, or even fix them. I have been trying to get this company to replace my A/C for 1.5 years. After avoiding the claim and not sending someone out for many months, they finally sent one technician after another because they didnt like their answer that the unit needed to be replaced; I had to pay a service fee each time. Select Home Warranty finally determined with this 4th technician that the unit is shot and my policy doesnt cover the problem. Who cares that there were issues that were covered in the policy before the final issue they didnt coverits ridiculous! I had to pay up front for 3 years and so when they werent helping me with my A/C problem at the beginning of last year, I tried to cancel the policy to get my money back but they wouldnt allow it, at least I wouldve salvaged a big chunk of money to put toward my new A/C but no luck. I am done with home warranty companiesthey ****************** are a scam. Instead of paying a home warranty company for hypothetical repairsit would be wiser to put money into a bank account for emergencies like this. Select Home Warranty is a parasitic company that make a business out of people paying them for false promises and hopes. They dont listen and customers and waste so much timeyou wait on the phone for a person to talk to and then the representative keeps you on the line for minimum of 30 min. Time is valuable and is money. Im extremely frustrated and disappointed in Select Home Warranty.
