Worst company I have ever deal with. Dont walk away from them, sprint hard away from them. The sales person lied about the coverage, the Select representative only quoted a portion of the paragraph regarding payment to the service company, and so far, nothing has been done to address the claim, cancellation is now going to happen. They claim to have a BBB rating, a lie.

I contracted with this Select Home Warranty (***) for warranty repairs of my appliances. After a thirty day waiting period I filled a claim to have a washing machine repaired. A request was made of me to set a dates and times to receive services. A roofing company was ID'd as the vendor selected by ***. I made arrangements to be available for the dates I selected. There was no call and no show by a technician on that date. After several calls to the roofer and the tech, they said would be coming, it was discovered the tech was an independent repair technician. The tech was under no obligation to honor the times or dates *** solicited. After a week and a half of trying to get the work performed I called ***. (Every time I called them it was a 20 - 30 minute wait to get a representative) I informed them of the situation to which they apologized and agreed to send a different vendor. I received another request for 3 choices of dates and times which I completed. Long story short it was the same thing. I made arrangements to be available for a technician on the dates and times *** requested of me. It was another no call, no show. After trying to coordinate with another subcontractor hired by a contractor hired by ***** decided to perform the repair myself. The total time for me to complete the repair was 2 hours. This included diagnostics, driving across town to to pick up parts and install them. Working through *** it was a total of 1 month (waiting period) and 3 weeks of dealing with *** contractors that didn't honor the *** agreed dates and times that they made with me. I missed a total of 16 hours of work waiting for technicians to show and execute the repairs. Now that I want to cancel the *** contract, that they defaulted on, they want to charge me a $75 early termination penalty. I am fighting this and HIGHLY recommend nobody do business with this company. *** had my annual payment money for a month and 3 weeks and are trying to charge me for their incompetence.

Filed a claim today. I have been on hold, transferred 4 times to end back where I started The claim was authorized for $400 of the $4100 total , the *** for a plumbing fixture. The customer rep wrote the claim up as a shower head fixture. It is not a fixture problem. It is the plumbing behind the wall that is causing a problem with ALL the connected fixtures Each time I am transferred I am being told since it has already been "resolved" (approved) at the *********** of $400 there is nothing they can do They are refusing to correct their "error" on writing the claim

This company is fradulant. I filed a claim back in September for a failed compressor on my ac. The company told me to get my own technician as the one they sent out could not get the parts for my ac. I paid ******* getting a new ac installed and gave the copy of my invoice and my credit card info to Select. They said they would get back in touch wth me in 24 hurs. I heard nothing, so I called them again and they said they needed my invoice. I sent them a certified letter with the invoice and credit card info again. My tracking number said they received the letter. Again this is almost 4 months later and they still have ignored me. They take your money and do not respond when you make a claim. I am tired of calling, giving them the requested information and then being ignored.

After 6 weeks of Select not being able to send me a contracted tech, at their instruction I called someone local and paid $35 over our contracted co-pay. That appliance company would not work with select because of problems in the past. I did not have the money for the repairs up front (isn't that why you have a warranty in the 1st place- so you don't have to come up with the cost of repairs??) so they Did reimburse the $35 difference and sent out a contracted tech and I was told that I would not have to pay the co-pay again. At that point it had been almost 4 months since I opened the claim, the tech ordered parts and was back about 10 days later and the dishwasher was fixed. *** Happy, until I got a bill from the 2nd tech for $65, being given 45 days to pay or be sent to collections. So I called select was told to email the invoice and they would cut a check for $65. Then I was told they can't reimburse me since I already paid. But they would be happy to waive the next co-pay and we'd be even. Well, I'm NOT renewing with them , so that does me NO good. My husband and I are retired and on a fixed income and we had the warranty so we didn't have to come up with high repair costs. Well, it cost us twice what the contract stated, so there wasn't much savings. My advice if you are offered a warranty with Select.......DON'T. It will take you months and extra money to have a working appliance. Not to mention the hours you will spend on the phone with these jokers trying to get a resolution. The 1 star rating is becuase that is the lowest rating this program allows. Otherwise it would be a negative 5.

I have been with select home warranty for 8 months and the first time something went wrong in my home I was denied coverage! My heat pump went down and I filed a claim. The technician came out and said I need a new system and that it was beyond repair. Select Home Warranty approved my claim and said they will only pay $150.00 because I could not provide a maintenance record. I have only been in my home for 1 year and 4 months. I don't have any previous records from the former owners. This company is a scam and should be ashamed of themselves. If you are looking at them, don't be fooled like I was with there fake ratings and stars. Take this advice from a fairly new homeowner. Do not sign up with them!

In our direct, multi-year experience with Select Home Warranty as customers, we could not ever recommend a company of this poor stature. They *** be under the wrong impression that they do not have educated or decent people as customers. With that said, they have attempted to charge us for LABOR costs in addition to a regular copay costs. Meaning, for the item we needed to have repaired, it would have cost more than double the cost, just to go through Select Home Warranty, rather than your own contractor. Of course, this is certainly against any contractual agreement because a copay is all that contractually required for the item at hand, but they will certainly attempt to mislead first, fix later with great delays. Not one representative we've encounter was from a ** based call center and the mannerisms of their staff is awfully comfortable with pushing limits that *** even warrant further review from an oversight agency within the state they operate. Bait and switch with contractual obligations then delay to fix certainly an appropriate motto that sums up their mismanagement of contracts for the unsuspecting public. We found their behavior and bold contract mismanagement to be a form of targeting - which ******** Seniors and vulnerable groups will fall prey to.
