      Horrific experience. First time using warranty 11/17 No heat and not resolved until I brought in an independent *********** a month later 12/19 (out-of-pocket $3,200). I'm a 73-yr.old widow and had no heat through the holiday and facing 10-degree temperatures. Three attempts by SHW's hired tech to replace parts. With one of the parts I was told I needed to pay an addition $275 because the tech had submitted the whole sale price. 12/17 I was told that the heat exchange needed to be replaced and SHW would NOT cover the part. It has now taken a month to tell me what is wrong. Very upset I had a independent *** immediately came and fixed the problem as I was afraid the pipes would brake with the cold. I was shocked to learn that the tech provided by SHW did not secure the induced housing draft and motor. Four screws were missing causing a carbon monoxide leak which was detected with a monitor.Contract states qualified tech would be provided-not true. Contract states you will be contacted in 48 hours -not true. Contract states heating system is covered-not true. They endangered my health. I had to call constantly with up to 25 min. wait time and very difficult to understand the service people I spoke with. I paid in full ($1,420) for a platinum 3-year warranty and this is the terrible way I was treated and the horrible service I received. I had 3 text messages stated they wanted to make things right and when I asked how they said on the phone "We don't cover the cost for a heat exchanger". Unbelievable!

      1 star only because there is not an option for 0 stars. I have had this company for 2 years and have tried to file claims 3 times. One they didn't cover my water heater and twice for a dishwasher. I paid my service fee of $100 before I could schedule an appointment. I was told I would have a technician at my home 2 days later and they will contact me to let me know when they will be arriving. I never got a call I wasted a whole day waiting. Technician never showed up. I called back to cancel the claim and asked my e refund of my service fee and they told me they could not refund my fee so I decided to cancel my services with them and then they charged me a$75 fee to cancel. This company is a crock and a Rip off they will steal your money and not help you. STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY.

      Stay away from this company. They are a fraud. They never fix anything or send licensed technicians. They sent me a technician who misdiagnosed and promised that he knew what the problem was and I paid addition out of pocket and still didn't fix the problem. The people working for them answering calls don't speak English and don't understand anything and you cant get further than that. THEY ARE A SCAM.I don't know how they are still in business. Should be shut down. This should be illegal for them to operate like this.

      DO NOT RECOMMEND. They never send you your policy to review, yet they claim on their website regardless of policy they will cover any item under warranty - if we pay a service fee, they will either replace or repair the item- except they dont. My fridge broke, and the first tech they sent out was late, and then never sent them the diagnosis. So they sent out a second one, and he said it would cost $800-$1200 to fix or replace. Select emailed me that it was not cost effective to do either, so they will give $250. I called every day and spoke to many staff and they never got me to a senior manager like o asked, and would not offer to make it right. They wouldnt even give me the money without a receipt that I had purchased a fridge. They were rude and dishonest and I am canceling my policy- I will be better off on my own. I dont normally leave reviews or get upset but this is not acceptable. ****.

      I give SHW one star, but that's one star too many. My heating system is a covered item under my contract. My oil burner was recently checked by my local technician and during this routine maintenance checkup, the technician recommended replacing 2 components. I submitted a claim, and included the description of the components along with the estimate to replace, approx. ******. At first I was told that SHW would send a technician, then I was told they were backed up and could not sent a technician. I was instructed to email pictures of the oil burner. Then I was instructed to email my service records. After all this, I was advised by the resolution team that my maximum coverage is ****** due to improper maintenance. I called multiple times and spoke to a multiple representatives, each one reads from the same script, advising me that I need to wait 24 to 48 hours for a resolution. Going on 5 weeks and counting. I'm sure the call center is located in ***** and not ** like they say, every rep has the same accent. Company is a total scam!

      This company is deceitful. On two separate occasions I have filed for reimbursement, one for a broken hot water heater and another for air handler replacement. The second one (claim #******** has been open over a month. My request for status has been met with "we will notify you in 24-48 hours This company promised to insure my appliances including my air conditioner and hot water heater. They have not lived up to what they promised. If there was a rating below zero that is what I would rate them at.

      I have had this warranty with this company for 3 years. And I can say within that time, I have filed tge most 4 times. Probably only 3. I waited over a month to have someone call me to get my dishwasher fixed. My hot water heater went out. No one ever showed up. THIS COMPANY IS A JOKE. I WISH I WOULD'VE READ THE REVIEWS FIRST. **********************. THEY'RE A S***** COMPANY WITH S***** SERVICE. AND IN ORDER TO CANCEL THEY CHARGE YOU $75.00 FOR NO SERVICE. THEY'RE CROOKS!!!I HATE THIS COMPANY.YOU'VE BEEN WARNED!!!YOU PAY A FEE EVERY MONTH. THEN THEY TELL YOU TO FIND YOUR OWN SERVICE TECHNICIAN. REALLY.SO YOU'RE PAYING THEM FOR NOTHING!YOU'RE JUST GIVING THESE PEOPLE YOUR MONEY FOR S***** SERVICE OR NO SERVICE.

      Beware, they have caveats that allow them not to cover your claims.For example - they cover condenser, but they do not cover condenser leaks.And they have a cancellation fee. I do not recommend using them

      This company is not what they say they are. The home warranty is as useless as the paper it is written on. They collect a monthly fee and every time a repair is needed they tell you its not covered without sending out a repair person to look at the problem and if they send a repair person $75 dollars later your told its not covered. I have been trying to cancel my warranty with them for 6 months to no avail and now they tell me they want to charge a $75 dollar cancellation fee because its not in the anniversary date when Ive been told repeatedly that I had to just call on the 10th of the month which I have done repeatedly. I wouldnt even give them 1 star but you have to in order to write a review. I finally resolved the issue by calling my bank and doing a stop payment. That is not the solution I wanted to do but felt I had no choice so to the company not wanting to do the right thing.

      They ripped me off. I filed a claim and the guy showed up 5 hours late. Spent 3 min at my house and they denied claim. I cancelled policy and they said they mailed a check but I have never received it. It has been a month. They said they will reissue and email when they do but no email. They are a scam company. If you call the phone number, one of the options is if you are calling about a refund check push button. That is ** they dont ever send the checks. They lied when they sold me the plan. Im taking them to court
