I received a renewal reminder email notifying us of a price increase from $6.65/month to $27.71/month on October 9th. I called the designated phone number, and was told that the agreement would Not auto renew , even though the renewal notice states "automatic renewal". She would not provide anything in writing to that effect. Next, I printed out the original Agreement Terms, and in paragraph 22. Can this agreement be cancellled? where it states it can be canceled any time by calling their printed number. ****** responded, and he did try to disable auto renew, but could not since the billing was through our NJ American Water autopay bill. Finally, I called NJ American Water billing department, and they told me that they could not disable AWR billing in our account. I would have to cancel our entire water billing and start over.Beware Buyers! They have NO protocols in place to disengage automatic renewals when they exorbitantly increase the monthly charge!

Total SCAM!!! They do nothing to help you! They say they are calling a provider to help you and they dont. Ask to talk to a supervisor and theres no supervisor. If you call your own provider, they do not reimburse you at all, but they dont call anyone and they leave you just hanging with your plumbing issues. There should be a lawsuit against them, which I would love to join. The guy I talked to to try to get help was even laughing about me needing help.American Water Resources, LLC

American Water Resources is one of the worst company to deal with. They sent me an email saying my account will be automatically renewed. I never agreed to automatic renewal and furthermore, I always pay with a check. They try underhand methods to get money and I urge everyone, just boycott them and pay your local water company if you need work done.American Water Resources, LLC

Save your money and opt out of the In home plumbing Emergency program. It takes forever to get someone on the phone and then you have to answer a lot I questions. They put me in contact with a plumber who told me the leak in my kitchen sink was due to the faucet being broken and installing a new one wouldn't be covered under the program so I would have to pay for it myself. Since it was only two years old I got a second opinion and found that the leak was due to a faulty water line. The new plumbers fixed it but I had to pay for it myself - if correctly diagnosed it should have been covered by the program. In all it took over a week to get resolved when it should have been taken care of immediately - since it's an "Emergency" programAmerican Water Resources, LLC

What a Huge Disappointment!! It has been more than a year and a half of monthly payments when we had a sewage flood and began a claim. Boy did we get the run around!! 4 calls and numerous delays: "We're having a hard time finding a provider in your area.... We'll call in 2-4 hours...Should be in 4-72 hours...Will let you know in ***** hours...6 days of raw sewage in our bathrooms and across the floor (!!!) when we finally called a plumber on our own, within 1 mile! $482 of our own money.RUN do not walk away from this company! Horrible - Horrible Horrible !!! - Listing the minimum of One Star is even too high of a rating!! I have been a long time customer of ********************** and in the beginning (and for many years) I always complimented the **************** Reps on their exceptional work. A few years back they switched to an "Off ****** ************** since then, it has been a nightmare. Difficult to understand, they hang up on you if the questions become difficult, They are more concerned about upselling than resolving the problem at hand. The calls that used to take 5 minutes now take 45. Recently (Sunday 8/4/24) I opened an emergency sewer claim for a completely clogged main sewer line. I was told someone would be dispatched on Monday 8/5... No one showed. I called again and stressed that it was an emergency and was told I would be first on the list for Tuesday 8/6. Many calls later and still no satisfaction. Now the "new" date is Wednesday 8/7 by 2:00 PM... totally unacceptable to be without using Toilets, Sinks, Laundry, etc. for 3 days. To add insult to injury, I get my new invoice yesterday and pricing has almost doubled!!! I will be cancelling my contract and I recommend to new potential customers that they should R-U-N !!!!!American Water Resources, LLC

********************************* promised coverage for our outside sewer line for which we paid a premium with each monthly water bill. When part of the sewer line had to be replaced at great expense, American Water Resources denied the claim, in spite of extenuating circumstances which made it impossible to obtain prior approval of the project. Unfortunately customers are the victims of a monopoly system for water supply; there is nowhere else we can go to have water in the house. They offer false advertising that they will cover costs related to outside sewer repair and then hiding behind a policy requiring advance approval they behave dishonestly with their customers.If there were any other option to obtain water for our house we would use another system. Where is the consumer protection for those of us prisoners of the ** American Water system?American Water Resources, LLC

I am really disappointed with my service today. I have had AWR for years. Thankfully, I have never needed to use them. My first phone call got me so angry with the representative (****). As I am asking questions and trying to tell him my issue, he is proceeding to read me some script that took five minutes to read. When I told him I didn't agree with what he was saying, he said "oh, ok want to cancel your plan"? I needed to hang up on him because clearly he was not qualified to take a call. I called back an reached another representative who put my claim in an set me up with a company. I looked up the company's reviews which were ALL ONE STAR and a review that said the BBB gave this company an F rating. So I am paying a monthly fee for rude customer service and even worse contractors. Guess who wiill be cancelling ALL service with AWR? They use to have such a good reputation, I don't undertsand where things took such a turn for the worse, but BUYER BEWARE. Save your money, time and energy.American Water Resources, LLC

DO NOT contract with this company. Have water main leak. Had their plumber come out, tell me its under the slab. AWR denies the repair. Have a different plumber come out, who will replace the entire water line from street to home without breaking the concrete. Denied again. At best, they will authorize repairs to water line if the water line is exposed and the leak is easy to get to. Will not authorize anything more than the bare minimum. This company is a scam, straight up. Save your money. I would leave a no star if allowed.American Water Resources, LLC

After seeing all the one star complains with the same issues and no good reviews. I would never sign up for this company or consider using them.
