      Received letter addressed to my husband who passed away 8 yrs ago and who never lived at my address. Letter stated he was home owner, which he is not and never was. Called company and talked to a rude girl who couldn't have cared less. Claimed they got his name from water company which is impossible since I moved to this town and address after he died!!! She then asked if I wanted their service!!!! ARE YOU KIDDING ME!?!?!

      Do not sign all for this scam company. We had both sewer line an interior line protection. Previously we had a plumber we hired come out and snake the main line out all the way to the alley. The incompetent plumber they sent out said he couldn't snake the line because the trap was in the way. Remember I have full coverage. They only send people out to put a band aid on the problem. Instead of fixing it. They told me they would not replace the trap because it's not covered. Even though I have full coverage. There customer service is awful. You will never get a supervisor to speak to. If you have this coverage. Cancel it immediately.

      Deceptively sign up accounts for their ********************. I have never had or wanted Water and Sewer Line protection since it is covered on my homeowners policy. Somehow it appeared on my account and wasn't noticed right away, my fault! I asked to have the charges removed and everything was denied. By the way for those who have the service...if you threaten to cancel you can get 50% off! Joke of a company!

      I DO NOT recommend that anyone purchase the Protection Plan from American Resources. It is a waste of time and money. The customer service component is outsourced to other countries and the representatives are difficult to understand and appear to read from a script. I spent three days contacting them regarding the protection plan coverage and scheduling service. When I tried to cancel the plan they told me that I had to wait until the last day of the Service Plan.The actual plumbing service is outsourced to contractors who are left to explain the shortcomings of the protection plan. I was told the plan would cover leaks in the house. It only cover leaks in the walls not faucets or fixtures. I gave them 1 star only because the plumbers were patient and understanding of my alarm of the inconsistency of what I was told the policy covered and what it actually covered.

      company is deliberately difficult to work with, and once i cancelled the program, they continued to charge me (at a higher rate) for 3 months.

      *** cancelled the incorrect plan, paid for this March of this year. After adding back the same item, they want me to pay again. I told them to leave it I will add it April when paying my bill. They also want to take money from your checking/debit card account. In time like this DON'T ALLOW STRANGER WITH YOUR BANK ACCOINY. PAY BY MONEY ORDER

      American Water Resources protection plans are basically a scam! They do respond to some minor less costly repairs but seem to deny higher cost claims. This allows them to appear as though they are a legitimate company by servicing customers needs, After many years of carrying their sewer line protection I put in a claim when I saw my vent stacks were separating. Their plumber showed up to assess the work, told me that AWR would contact me, got back in his truck and left. All within 30 seconds. After 10 days of no response I phoned AWR and was told my claim was denied, as it was not caused by normal wear and tear. I got estimates for the repairs by two plumbers, and both told me that the cement at the **** pipe joints failed, due to age and normal wear and tear. I paid out of pocket for the repairs, then contacted *** and requested a written explanation as to why my claim was denied. After several frustrating phone calls they still will not supply me a written letter. During my last call to AWR on 3/18/25, I asked them to cancel my policy and refund me for the remaining nine months left on it. I was then told that because I paid yearly, I am not eligible for a refund. I will not be calling them again! At this point I have filed a complaint with the Insurance Commissioner about their practices, and will meet with a lawyer to proceed a legal path. I am learning about many others who share my pain, so Im leaning towards a Class Action Suit.

      Trying to call NJ American Waterworks about a billing problem. On hold for a long time then person who took my call was hard to communicate with. It wasn't her fault that she cold barely speak English. It's the stupidity and greed of the company because they hire cheap labor outside the country instead of hiring Americans.We finally resolved the issue but it wasted a lot of my time and the solution was mediocre.

      Attempt to call and cancel sewage line coverage. Spoke directly to a representative. They assured me it was handled and cancelled. I even received a confirmation number assuring my cancellation. This company continues to rob me and charge me the monthly premium for the sewage line coverage despite my cancellation in January. They are absolute thieves and have yet to reimburse me for my previous months charges and are still attempting to charge me for current months! Completely dishonest!

      3/14/25 I had a backup in my bathroom, called AWR they wanted me to pay $50 service fee, had to go the whole weekend and into the next week without being able to use my bathroom, thank God I have a RV , they never came or contacted me when I called they kept saying no provider available, finally told me that I could get my own plumber and they will reimburse me, I called and got my bathroom fixed, they want me to send my bank details to reimburse me but I think Im gonna chalk it up, dont trust them with my bank account details, I Do Not Recommend this company!
