EZ Pass has unjustly charged me over $2,300 in late fees over the past 18 months due to notices being sent to an outdated address without any attempt to reach me through email or other means. These fees, which accumulated without my knowledge, have now blocked my ability to obtain an EZ Pass account, creating a cycle of escalating penalties.

Additionally, EZ Pass only sent these fees to collections after they had become exorbitantly high, which directly harms my credit score and causes further financial damage.

I am fully prepared to pay the tolls I owe, but I formally request the waiver of all late fees, given EZ Pass’s failure to notify me correctly. It’s unreasonable—and unfair—for EZ Pass to prevent access to an account that would enable timely payments and avoid further penalties. This practice effectively forces individuals into increased debt and feels inherently exploitative.

A fair resolution is for EZ Pass to waive these late fees immediately, allowing me to settle the toll balance without undue penalties and to obtain an active EZ Pass account to avoid further charges. This proactive step would ensure compliance with fair consumer practices and help end the punitive cycle created by EZ Pass’s communication failures.
Thank you for your prompt attention to this serious issue.

I have pending toll booth tickets that I have been trying to pay. I called ezpassnj 2 times within the month to pay the tickets and the representatives on the phone advised I did not have a balance. My tickets were only 3.20 and 2.15. I had about 5 of them. Now I received a letter in the mail with $50 fees on top of all. Last time this happened I paid over $300 for about $25 worth of tickets. This business is scamming people because the call center workers do not work at all. They are. Very disrespectful over the phone and give you wrong information. I would like to be compensated for previous charges and all new fees dropped so I can pay my regular tolls. This is ridiculous. Nobody can afford to keep paying this because your call center workers do not work and always have attitudes when you call.

Ever since a credit card on my account expired two years ago I have been switched to a cash account and my credit card can not replenish my account. I attempted to resolve this over the phone several times and have paid every outstanding toll. However since then I have been charged over $800 in administrative fees.

I contacted NJ EZ Pass numerous times in a couple different ways to no avail. I tried to call without being able to reach a representative and I tried to submit a service request online, which was marked "resolved" by advising me to call ###-###-####, the number where I can't get through to speak to someone because it just keeps sending me to the main menu after telling me to hold for a representative over and over again. I wished to contact them because I tried to dispute $150 administrative fees I had previously paid for regarding violation no. ************** I would like a refund for these fees because I had previously thought these fees were unfair, but didn't know I could dispute them before payment. I am disputing them now because I learned that I could have only received those fees if (1) Using a tag with a negative balance, suspended account, revoked account, or a reported lost or stolen tag (2) Using a valid tag in a vehicle that is not the type of vehicle the tag is designated for (3) Failing to update the license plates associated with the account. I have done nothing of that nature to have been penalized with these excessive fees. I have a valid lease for the vehicle I was driving, license plate (**) *******. I am entitled to this refund because I am within the 120 days I have to dispute these fees. The notice was dated 8/14/2024.

NJ EZ Pass did not notify me by *********** that the card on file stopped working in July of 2024 until October of 2024 at which time I called to rectify it as soon as I was aware that there was a problem . At no time in 10 years have I ever had a negative balance on my EZ PASS account. Currently, I have fines over $121.00 that I want removed.

I moved from ******** to New Jersey in April 2024. I have had my New York EZpass for years. If I go through a toll and I have a low balance I am notified and I replenish my account , the bill that may have been due is deducted from what I REPLENISH AND THE BILL IS PAID IMMEDIATELY. I received a bill from *************************************** Jersey Turnpike Authority notifying me that I owed them $3.20 plus $50 administration fee for numerous violations. It said on the notice that if the toll was paid please disregard the notice. I KNOW THE TOLL WAS PAID BECAUSE IT WAS DEDUCTED FROM MY REPLENISHMENT. I received another notice and I decided to call them . i was told that once you go through the Ezpass here in New Jersey and there isn't enough or the balance is low you are automatically hit with the $50 administrative fee AND IF YOU REPLENISH YOU ACCOUNT IT TAKES ************************************************************ THAT TIME FRAME IT WILL CHARGE YOU AGAIN . My administrative fee is $1100 that I didn't even know I had until I called. This is absurd and totally wrong . I work every day Monday to Friday , like most people, and I can not afford to pay $1100 in fees for tolls that are under $4.20 each. I am sure that most people don't know that even if you put money in your EZpass , New Jersey Port Authority will not recognize the payment for 48 hours. Thats a scam and totally unfair to hard working people that have to commute back and forth to work every weekday. Something has to be done. #T132426335393 7/15/24 $1.35 + $50 Fee #T132426380112 7/15/24 $3.20 + $50 Fee #T132426412554 7/16/24 $3.20 + $50 Fee #T132426505350 7/16/24 $3.20 + $50 Fee #T132426520027 7/17/24 $3.20 + $50 Fee #T132426505351 7/17/24 $3.80 + $50 Fee #T132426551893 7/18/24 $3.20 + $50 Fee #T132426611296 7/20/24 $4.20 + $50 Fee

Received 5 EZ Pass Violation from June to September, 2024. Account has been on auto replenish and transponder apparently is not registering when going through lanes (non booth lanes-the left lanes of Parkway to avoid having to slow down and go through booth). I am not paying over $200 in fines when *** had this transponder on my dash/window. This is their error, not mine.

OK, I am very upset. We were automatically billed, where monies were taken out of our account for $95.00. I never allowed an automatic debit. It made us overdrawn on our account. So I sent a complaint to EZpass and they said they would give us a one time amount, so I said $50.00, which is what we normally paid. We were then debited another $95.00.

First of all, why are they allowed to even do this? I didn't have a choice. My question is, can I pay cash going through all the tolls in New Jersey?? My husband drives the Garden State Parkway and Turnpike every day to work. I DO NOT THINK THEY SHOULD BE ALLOWED TO DO THIS AND I WANT IT TO STOP FOR US, IT IS CAUSING US GREAT DISTRESS!!!
