      I have been an EZPass customer for over 20 years and have received toll violations. I never received an email indicating that the tolls were violated. However, I have received phishing texts seeking payment. I called EZPass, and it states on its phone system that they are aware of the fraudulent texts. I called in after the tolls and even logged on to the website but was unable to pay the tolls without paying the excessive and unfair violations.

      I was able to determine that some time in March, the debit card attached to the account was compromised and then declined. So, tolls were not paid during this time period. I called in and was told that they could not help me with the violations and that there was no assistance.

      I received violations in the mail, then on 4/22/2025, I sent a letter with a check explaining my understanding of the events. Given that the violations were not the result of intentional non-payment but rather an honest mistake involving the credit card setup, I respectfully request that the associated toll violation fees be waived. Once this was discovered, several attempts to pay online only the tolls were unsuccessful. I included a check to pay the tolls owed.

      They cashed my check. I consider it satisfied and that they considered it resolved.

      Now EZPASS has sent me to collections which is crazy, considering that they are actually are attempting to collect a violations fraudulently via text messages.

      I am requesting assistance with this misunderstanding, which I have tried to resolve several times but EZpass does not seek the same.

      April 5, 2025, I crossed the George Washington Bridge with my 2 axle passenger vehicle and was charged for 3 axles $28.99. I should have only been charged $ 16.06. This is a difference of $12.93 that was stolen from my EZ pass account by Ez pass. I contacted them several times by phone, email and Fax submitting a copy of registration and letter only to fall on deaf ears. To be ignored. I will not tolerate this conduct as a consumer or tax payer and yes tolls are a form of taxation. They should not be allowed to arbitrarily charge me what ever they dam well please. I demand a full refund of $ 12.93 that was stolen from me and a cease and desist on future arbitrary theft and over billing.

      I have been challenging toll violations imposed by NJ EZPass since 2024. I haven't had any issues using my EZPass Massachusetts transponder in any states since obtaining it in 2009.

      I would like my account balance adjusted to the appropriate balance of the tolls ($16.40) removing the erroneous $150 in unsubstantiated violations.

      I am an ez pass member and for years I’ve had issues with the toll saying no pass found, but my ezpass account still gets charged (the non-member rate). Which is significantly higher.

      Have requested a new pass 3-4 times and have called ezpass numerous times. They can’t figure it out. Got 2 violations for crossing a toll with “no ez pass”. I am getting sick of this. These tolls are for $2 and $4. With a $50 fee each.

      Trying to call to speak with someone and have been on hold for 1.5 hours. The online system says to call the number.


      Last we spoke to someone they said our car may be blocking the signal and would send us one to attach to our license plate. They have yet to send.

      I want someone to go into my account and refund all the tolls I’ve been paying as a non pass holder and charge me the correct rate. Along with getting rid of the two violations

      I am writing this claim due to the poor business that ***** Pass has provided. In March 2025, I travelled through a toll in which I am assuming the toll price came to $3.95. I attempted to resolve this bill by contacting EZ Pass in April 2025 and May 2025 at their contact number at *************** ***************). I was sure that this outcome would be the result of the company adding additional late fees in order to penalize me for not paying the initial bill. I am currently being threatened to pay an additional $50 for a transaction where I had sufficient funds on my EZ pass during the time of the transaction. I am not sure if the transponder was not being read well, but this is not my fault as I have attempted to resolve this issue via phone call. I think that this is poor customer ********************** to contact a known business that deals with billions of commuters and no one can assist me with my issue, rather than sending my account for collections.

      Subject: Ongoing Toll Disputes Despite Active EZ Pass To Whom It May Concern,Im writing to express serious frustration over multiple toll violation notices Ive receiveddespite having an active and properly installed EZ Pass transponder in my vehicle.The first notice included a photo of my license plate and claimed I hadnt paid a toll. I attempted to call EZ Pass, only to be told there was a 45-minute wait. I waited over a 80 minutes before I had to hang up to take my son to an important appointment at **********************************. He is undergoing a series of serial castings followed by physical therapy, and I am his full-time caregiver.Since then, Ive received two more noticesone from Delaware and another referencing tolls on 495, 395, and 95. Ive tried disputing these online, but your system returns no information. Despite my EZ Pass being active, Im now facing $52 charges for what shouldve been a $2 toll.Your phone prompts warn of scams, but the real issue is that its impossible to get in contact with a real person when your system makes a mistake. Ive done my partI have an EZ Pass, its in my vehicle, and it has always been paid. Now, Im being penalized because your systems failed.I rely on my vehicle to get my son to critical medical appointments. He has a spinal cord condition that causes tremors, and we attend frequent specialist visits. The idea that I could lose my license over an error in your systemsomething Ive been unable to correct due to your lack of supportis infuriating and unacceptable.This situation is affecting my life in ways that go beyond a toll. I need these violations removed immediately and confirmation that my EZ Pass is functioning properly. I also ask that you address your lack of accessible customer support. People with real issues should not be left without options for help.

      I am filing a complaint against New Jersey E-ZPass because I have received multiple bills claiming I owe for three tolls, along with an added $5 bill fee, now totally $14. However, I have Pennsylvania E-ZPass, which has always been active and should have covered these tolls. These charges are incorrect.

      The bigger issue is that it is virtually impossible to reach a live person at New Jersey E-ZPass to dispute or discuss this. I have called multiple times and there is no way to speak with a representative to understand why I'm getting billed. This is extremely frustrating and unacceptable.

      EZ Pass toll "violation" "*************" and "*************" violation reason is not provided, the EZ Pass Tag was mounted in the vehicle and vunctions at other toll plazas, it is only these parkway toll plazas that trigger "violations". Additionally, the vehicle plate is registered to the EZ Pass Account *******. Dispute was filed for these violations and the account number and plates were provided again to bill the toll. Today I recieved notice the dispute was denied with no specific reason provided and an additional $50 admin fee is due for each toll. I am a valid EZ Pass account holder in good standing and cannot get ahold of EZ Pass customer service, there is no contact email, and there is no way to contact an agent using the telephone number provided by EZ Pass, it is an automated system that just passes you around and around. EZ Pass is threatening to revoke my driving privledges due to these two invalid disputes while I am a valid customer. This is incredibly predatory with no contact channels to resolve with EZ Pass, I need the help of the BBB.

      I've been getting charged $25 per day on the card I keep on file for my EZ Pass NJ transponder, and these charges are not reflected in my updated account balance (see attachment). I tried removing the card from my account but there was no option to do so. After waiting on hold for 40 minutes to ask a representative to explain the $25 daily charges, I decided to email instead and was told that I will be assessed a $10 fee for removing my credit card from autopay.

      This is awful, I'm trying to understand why my EZ Pass is being charged automatically $25/day for the past week without giving me the updated balance amount from getting charged, and when I decide to remove my card from Autopay I get assessed another fee! Terrible business practice and they should not be charging fees for me to simply remove my payment method and apply manual replenishments. Please reach out and ask them to remove this unfair business practice.

      There has been multiple deductions on my account for over 100 dollars a day with no explanation on the brake down, and no one answer the phone at customer service, the app is not allowing me to dispute the charges.
