      I rented a ***** CX-5 from Avis' ************************** location from May 5, 2025, through May 14, 2025. I returned the vehicle on time and with a full tank of gas per our agreement. A day later I received a damage report from Avis claiming "Excessive Interior Dirt - Sand" with pictures attached that show minimal sand and some papers that I had left neatly stacked in the center console (as they did not have a trash can at the rental facility for me to discard them) thrown onto the floor, which is not how I had left them. I have uploaded the photos sent to me by their tech. I understand that excessive sand is a subjective statement, but I firmly believe that any rational person would take one look at these photos and see that this location is running a scam. I reached out to Avis customer service over the phone to dispute these charges, as I wanted to talk to a real person and have them look at the photos to try to justify this $125 charge, but they informed me that the dispute process was to be handled online and they started a ticket for me to dispute. I made my case, and they got back with me via email almost immediately, stating, "We find the charges to be valid without exception." The amount of sand and trash left behind was entirely reasonable and would've been cleaned up within 10 minutes. They also claimed, "Charges for vehicle cleaning are assessed when a vehicle is returned in such a condition that makes it not rentable and requires the vehicle to be sent for detailing putting it out of service." If anyone were to take a look at the photos that I have uploaded they would easily be able to tell that there is absolutely no reason to have to "put the car out of service" I am contesting this charge through BBB as I have hit a dead-end with Avis.       They didnt had a car for me even thouh I had areservation number. I had to call a ***** number to get my money back and they still wanted to charge me a cancelation fee. Horroble place to rent a car.

      The worst rental company in history.I ordered a specific vehicle they ended up not having. the vehicle provided was terrible In every aspect. Worst customer service I've ever dealt with. I got zero compensation for the troubles it caused my trip

      I recently rented a car from AVIS (at ********************************) and was incorrectly charged over $120 for a full tank of gas, even though the car was nearly empty when I picked it up. Fortunately, I had photo evidence showing the fuel level at pickup. Without this, AVIS would have held me responsible for their own oversight, and I would have been forced to pay over $120 for fuel I never used.I spent almost a whole day trying to get the issue resolved through customer service. It was incredibly frustrating and time-consuming for something that was not my fault.Eventually, AVIS refunded the fuel chargewhich was the right thing to dobut they did not offer any apology or gesture of goodwill for the mistake or the inconvenience caused.If I hadnt taken a photo, I wouldve been unfairly charged due to AVISs error. Thats unacceptable for a major company, and I strongly urge other customers to document everything when renting from AVIS.

      Someone at the *********** location has stole my purse. I understand that I left it in the car however THEY called me and said they found it but when I submitted a lost claim, now they are saying it can't be located. I have tried to call so many times and can't get a person on the phone. Never will I rent from them again.

      I am so sad to give an one star but after my experience today, I have to. I am so sad to give this place one star but after my experience today, I have to. I'd been renting cars consistently for a few years and have always had a great experience - until today. While in transit to pick up the car the customer service person called me to tell me they did not have a car to honor my reservation and didn't know when they would. Maybe a few hours. He was super apologetic and I feel terrible that he has to deal with customers because of ************************ decided to check online and saw that the location has cars showing available for 12p today. My pick up time. The difference was the price of my rental was $39 and today's rate is over $100.I asked if they could just move my rental out a couple Saturdays for the same rate and they said no. They could give me a $10 discount on the market rate.Long story short. They probably have cars available today and don't want to honor the lesser price so lied or they dont have cars and won't do much to make up for their inability to provide a car.Fortunately I found out before getting on the train to ******** and took a different train and arranged someone to pick me up.Unfortunately- the Westport location can't cancel the reservation for us and when I tried to cancel online it stated I'd be responsible for a $150 no-show fee. I had to call their 800 number to ask to cancel the reservation that they could not ********** took me 4 calls to the number to not be disconnected. I did finally reach someone and canceled my reservation and will not be booking cars through Avis anymore.

      Do not rent from Avis. We prepaid for our car thinking that was the price. But no. We were tricked!!!!! We got home from our trip, and an extra charged on our credit card. I called Avis to ask about the extra loss and damage waiver that was added on (that we did NOT choose, nor were informed of!)I was told that we should have looked at the contract more closely.What is the point of reserving your vehicle online and prepaying if when you arrive to sign for it, hidden charges/options have been added and you unknowingly sign for them when you pick up your car ?!I have emailed Avis as well, and shocking, NO RESPONSE!!! If you need to rent a car, go to *****!!!! (Clicked one star only so that I would be able to post this review).

      Put me and my family at risk. They gave me a car with bald tires with NO SPARE. Got a flat 3 hrs from the city. I called and nearest Avis did not want to take me since they were closing soon. They were going to leave me stranded. Had to take tow 3 hrs to get new car. Still tried charging me for towing.

      If I could leave zero stars I would. We ended up stuck for an extra night in ********* because of your satellite office on **************. The website said open til 5 and our reservation was for 5. We got there just before 5 and their sign was gone, the doors were locked, and the the gentleman in an adjacent office said they closed and left early. We called your customer service in God only knows what country and they could only tell us another location that would have been closed before we could walk there (or pay $50 for an **** that still wouldn't have gotten us there before they closed in rush hour traffic) or the airport which did not have 1-way vehicles available. While I know as a corporation you cannot control every aspect of a satellite office, this gave your company a massive black eye in my book, and I highly doubt I will ever use AVIS again.

This may be the worst ran company on the planet. **************** is horrible, calling is impossible, the cars are average at best and reserving a car doesnt mean youll actually get one.
