Avis car rental *********, if you show up one hour early. You have to wait until the time of rental, so I have to wait for the hour before I can get a car. I never heard of such nonsense in my rental life. What a bad experience. Never againAvis Rent A Car

Avis at **************. When we picked up the car the focus seemed to be on scare tactics to get us to take out their insurance and to buy their highway toll coverage at some ridiculus high daily admin fee.Ok - that's common.The problem though - a week after returning the car, we got a notice of a $250 cleaning fee.The car did have minimal sand on the matts, and some crumbs in one seat - something your shop vac would clean up in about 5 minutes.On the internet, you'll see this has become a common $250 to $450 extra money tactic from Avis - so I would avoid taking the chance of renting from them (and Budget too)Avis Rent A Car

As a longtime Avis customer, Im disappointed to say that my experience with the *********** location was one of the worst Ive had with any rental company.Months after returning a vehicle in perfect condition, I received a letter claiming vague, undocumented damagewithout any photos or specifics. I was charged over $1,300 until I spent significant time disputing the claim. Eventually, Avis dropped the charge as a one-time courtesy, but only after implying that the incident was somehow my fault for not having taken photos at pickup and drop-off.This on top of the fact that the location has not provided documented of the condition of the vehicle.Since then, Ive followed AVISs advice religiously. But in a more recent experience, even after immediately reporting damage and submitting evidence, I was met with a convoluted process, rejected uploads, and a lack of clarity. The burden consistently falls on the customereven when Avis delivers a damaged vehicle.This is not how a reputable company should treat loyal customers. If you rent from **********************, take full 360 video before and after your rentalbecause even if you do everything right, you may still find yourself being blamed.Avis Rent A Car

Avis counter was the only counter at the airport with a LONG SLOW line. Made my reservation three mos ago. Didnt have the car requested. The car I had to wait 45 min in line and another 30 min to be cleaned was an infinity and too small for our people and luggage because of the captains chairs middle seat. So they changed us to a van, which was dirty. We had to ask for paper towels to clean the food off the seats. They told me it would be cheaper to have the van. Yet they charged me more. My contract was for $1100 and they charged me $1900. I complained and after multiple phone calls where I could not understand the foreign accent and many emails they credited me $100. What?? Now today they charged my card an ADDITIONAL $1900 duplicate charge. This is way too labor intensive. Ridiculous errors. No English speaking person to talk to. Poor customer service. Slow and sloppy. I previously filed a complaint against Budget Rental *********** (case # ********) for rental charges concerning a 21 Feb-7 Mar 25 rental from the ***********/Clearwater Budget car rental facility. After several phone calls and emails to ************************ we were offered either a one-day free rental or $100. This was offered for the first day rental problems resulting from the agency issuing us a car with a low air pressure tire at 10:20 PM (parked at an odd angle which hid the semi-flat tire and alert of the issue came from the low air warning light), no additional cars available at any Budget location [*************, *********** location but 800 number said there were vehicles available at destination city) and the *********** desk closing at 11:00 PM. We were forced to find a gas station with air, drive the car 45 miles to overnight destination and seeing the car tire low again early the next morning. The promised replacement locations (via the 800 Budget number given the night before) had no vehicles available so we were forced to find tire repair shop on the 2nd day of vacation. Four hours later, the tire was repaired but our vacation plans were ruined for that day. Had we had tickets to ********************* or another major attraction, we would have been in much worse position then we were. A $100 dollars compensation is not appropriate for the frustration and safety issues we had to address to get a serviceable car and giving the vehicle back in better condition than we received it. We also were charged a $160 toll cost to the overall rental due to the car navigation routing us to the toll road for a one-minute excursion on the last day of rental. This charge was due to Budget prorating the toll cost over the 2 week rental. We're willing to pay the toll and reasonable one day toll cost but we are being overcharged. Budget says there is nothing they can do since we accepted the $100 compensation. We disagree and request that Budget would reconsider.Avis Rent A Car

I had reserved a car with Avis. The day I was to pick it up they called and told me no cars were available. BUT I was still charged $300 for my rental! It has taken me 2 days to talk to anyone who could refund this charge. The dealership I rented it from could not help me and the Avis "customer service" was horrible. Gave me the runaround for 2 days but made comments to me about me not following the proper process. After 2 days of atleast 7 phone calls I was told they would refund me. I asked for a confirmation email but was told they can't provide that. They said to call back in 7-10 days to see where they were at with the refund process.Absolute absurdness. They were eager to take my money, not provide a service they charged me for and then make ME, the customer, jump through hoops for a resolution!Avis Rent A Car

Absolutely do not rent from them! We were charged a cleaning fee of $450 for a car returned in perfect condition. We were in town for 48 hrs for a wedding, don't smoke, didn't have pets, etc. I took pictures of the care at drop off and they still tried to claim that we left it in a dirty condition requiring a $450 clean!Avis Rent A Car

Avis is the worst car rental company, They holding my deposit and they keep lying to me everytime i call to get it released. They even asked for my bank fax number, just to play me around and not released it. They have 2 deposits for me. My nane is ****** *******, and for anyone reading this Ill state that Avis is the worst choice when it comes to rent a car. It might be cheap but they wont release your deposit funds. For RA U375865265 $44 was released 5/2/25. As we did not take the funds and just froze them you will not see a refund for the amount of the authorization hold but should only see a posted transaction for the amount of the rental.
