I provide travel arrangement for our small business account with **********************. Our company is Unlimited Deliveries and we rent multiple vehicles every week. We are on the verge of dropping Avis and going with a competitor due to the unjust treatment we've experienced recently. We booked a car out of the ******, ******************* location and later called our small business support line to change the delivery location. They did with no issues and said there would be an additional charge which we fully expected and we're ok with due it usually only being a couple hundred dollars difference at most. We were shocked to see a receipt for $1328 and were not very happy to say the least. A few hours later we received another receipt showing someone had went back and altered the original receipts drop fee and sent us another receipt for $2076. As a small business we are unable to afford unexpected, and what we feel as unfair pricing. Any other location and the fees would have been a fraction of what they are from this location. We feel our company is being punished for taking the appropriate steps to change our drop location as we needed. Every other location has been friendly and helpful but this ********************************* location specifically will be the reason we go with one of your competitors.Avis Rent A Car

I'm was charged $125 extra for an "excessive" cleaning fee. When we checked the car in, excessive damage/ dirt was not noted. Because there was none.However, since I don't have pictures, to prove my case, they are charging me this ****** my mind, Avis is completely unethical. If there was "excessive damage/dirt" it needed to be noted at check in, which it was not. The moral of the story is always take pictures before AND after you use a rental car. Renters are expected to return the vehicle in the condition it was received in. If a car is returned to us with trash, dirt of any kind, or other soilage residue that a customer leaves behind, a location will bill up to $450.00 to clean the car so that it can be rented again. We understand you may not agree with this policy, but this is the expense associated with restoring the car after your use.

While having a rental from Avis in ******* I had to evacuate due to hurricane ******. Even though I returned the car 3 days early and had unlimited miles on the rental Avis charged me an additional $979. Most of this was due to a $750 one way charge they don't tell you about up front. I called Avis multiple times explaining the situation and that we had to evacuate but they will not take off the additional charges. When most people and companies are trying to help people out during a hurricane Avis is taking advantage of people and charging them more than triple what they were originally charged. Unless this issue is resolved I will never be using Avis again and would very much urge others not to as well.Avis Rent A Car

While we do recognize inability to make some returns due to weather or other disasters, we do not have record of being notified of your decision to return early to ********, ** instead of ***************, ** as indicated on your rental agreement and the one-way fee was added for this reason. The one-way fee was refunded by our **************** team on October 29th; please allow 3 to 5 days for this to reflect on your account.
To avoid this in the future, we do advise contacting **************** prior to making unannounced changes to confirm closures or to have advanced notice of any changes to your final total if applicable.

We were in town for a short trip for a family wedding. We rented a car from Avis *************** on Sept 12th. We are preferred members and quickly got a slot for the car. We got about 9 miles down the road and realized they had given us a fully electric vehicle that had NOT been charged. We have never used an electric vehicle and the app was no help as if stated Full for gas. We were able to pull off into a gas station on the highway, but the gas station did not have charging. We called roadside assistance and they said it would be 2 hours. We had friends drive 30 min out of there way to pick us up so that we didn't miss the entire rehearsal dinner. We were not able to talk to Detroit Avis directly but were routed to customer service (sounded like *****). They were not helpful and just kept saying sorry. Finally on the 3rd call Friday morning, they gave us an **** voucher to go back to *************** to get another car because they would not bring us one to our location. We missed wedding activities as this process took most of the day. We got home and found out that we were charged over $250 for the tow even though it was FULLY Detroit Avis's responsibility for not giving us a charged vehicle. I will NEVER use Avis again as it has been the MOST frustrating experience that ruined our trip. I could write so much more, but I am exhausted with this experience and their customer service.Avis Rent A Car

I am a Ride Share Drivers with **** and had decided to rent a vehicle through ****** Rental car program. Avis is one of the rental companies in contract with **** fo **** Drivers.I made reservations with Avis under my **** wizard number on 10/22/2024 for the dates: pick-up @10am 10/28/2024 drop-off 1@10am 11/04/2024.Reservation was approved and I was given a confirmation number via email.On 10/28/2024 the day of, I use the $40 voucher I received from **** to get a **** trip to the destination Avis approved on the 22nd would have the vehicle ready for pickup at their Conyers ******* location. When I arrived minutes before 10am, I was told that there were absolutely no **** rentals and that they had sent me an text message 4 mins before they opened @9am,which means I was already on my way to their location. Missed a days pay of $300,$80 **** cash and a bill unable the be paid because now Avis stats that they won't have any available **** vehicles until the following week because,either ****** corporate officials or AVIS corp officials only delivered particular vehicles to the locations on certain days of the week,which the vehicles now have to be carefully inspected due to there being mechanical issues with the vehicle received for the **** Drivers only. **** Drivers BEWARE you are receiving the vehicles that other companies no longer see any value/profit and are sold to these companies specifically fo **** Drivers ????????Avis Rent A Car

We forecast vehicle availability based on how vehicles are scheduled to return. Several circumstances could cause inventory issues such as vehicles being extended, not returned on time or as agreed, returned to a different location, or breakdowns. We do our best to accommodate every rental but sometimes if vehicles aren't returned when they are scheduled, it causes us to be short on vehicles. Regretfully, as our **** fleet is limited and we cannot interchange our standard fleet for this use, this can mean that we are unable to initiate a new rental; we are sorry that this was the case.

We were in need of a rental while our car was being worked on. Did a search online and found Avis which was close to where we lived and had good rates. We made the reservations online and it indicated that if we wanted a specific vehicle reserved to prepay with a credit card in which we did. We went to pick up the vehicle and the salesperson on duty gave my husband the key to another car instead of the one we reserved. He went back in and said some to the salesperson and was then given the correct key, but he did not correct the paperwork. We drove the car the entire weekend with the wrong paperwork. Our car was ready 2 days earlier so we returned the car and was told that we would get a refund for the 2 days unused. I found out today that we would not get a refund and we talked with the salesperson at the store and was told that we would get the 2 day refund. I think it is a stupid policy to not return the customer's money for unused days. We received the car and it was not clean and it smelled like cigarette smoke. I also talked with someone online and they did not even mention this policy. I went back to look and it was in the most unusual place. It would be nice though to get the refund as we were told by the customer service person at the *******, ** location.Avis Rent A Car

We prepaid for a full sized car for reason. After a long early flight, I arrived at Avis to pick up my car was given a scratched up (mid sized) ****** Altima sports model. Needless to say, it wasn't what we Reserved anf paid for.I was too tired to stand in line again. with my luggage cart so I didn't go back in the building to change cars until the next morning. After 2 hours of sneers, arguments that the sporty altima was indeed a FULL SIZED CAR. I and asked to take a seat somewhere in the airport, I had an Avis case number from customer service on the phone to instruct the service person to follow through with a rental contract I had with Avis. The service desk person refused to look at it.Finally after 2 hours I was handed keys to a Malibu. Luckily it was just in time before their entire computer system crashed.All this time the manager was hiding in the back room.Avis Rent A Car

Rental #********US4 Prepaid for a Jeep Wrangler 4 x 4 or similar in June for a Oct. 19th reservation at ******************. We were super excited as this was a treat for us. We are also Avis preferred members. Upon arriving on time, a woman customer svc *** at ****** was extremely unprofessional. She was annoyed she had to help her co worker who was a little slower. We walk to desk to give our name and she says, I have 4 cars that is it, work with it. A Silverado, a Ram, minivan and a Nissan Rogue. I said we reserved months ago and paid anything of an upgrade? She says no, only downgrades but because we prepaid she can't give us the $80 difference. Wow, really? No apology or anything. We let them know when turning in the keys, they say, do the survey, we did, but no follow up. Also did a customer ticket. We have another reservation this weekend. This will be our last use of Avis and they do not follow thru or are honest. Word of mouth goes a long way.Avis Rent A Car

This company is the worst to rent from. They will not help you if you have a problem with there vehicle or if you need to adjust your rental they will charge you extra, even when they can re-rent the vehicle, if you need to rent a car please do it with any other company and not this one!!Avis Rent A Car

We do our best to make sure that all pertinent information is made available to our customer within the terms and conditions of the rental contract, which states the car must be returned to the agreed return location as specified on the rental document. If return is indicated to a location other than the location where you rental commences, you may have to pay a one-way service fee. However, our **************** team did make an accommodation to the one way service fee in an adjustment of $251.66, which was issued on October 24th.
