Orbit installed solar panels on my roof last year in March (2022), from that time their technician worked many times to pass an inspection by the local energy company ( BGE), I already have started to pay the mortgage of solar panels to the company name GoodLeap from last August (2022), I called in past to reimbues money and Orbit told me that they ran out of the budget of 2022 and issue the check in January 2023, I was out of ******* from January 17th to February 17th, I haven't received any check for reimburse my mortgage money s solar panels are still not working and inspection keep failing. I am trying to reach out to the company for the last 3-4 days on their contact number ************* and the phone never connects to the company's main line. I am stuck with a solar panel project with Orbit. I want to get out of this project or resolve the issue all issue ASAP because it is almost a year passed since solar panels were installed on my roof and nothing works and I am paying the mortgage of solar panels.Initial Complaint

12/02/2022 orbit energy and power poorly installed 17 solar panels at our residence and we were promised from our salesman that they would install 20 panels at no cost. Also, they caused damages to my rear lawn, fence and rear gate during this poor installation. The panels are loose and making noises and appear to be unsafe. We have been emailing and calling them since December 2nd 2022 and we have not received any resolution. I am seeking a full refund of $30,000.00 and also to remove these unsafe panels, and pay for our damages $10,000.00, also this will require a new roof $30,000.00 due to this disgusting installation and experience. I was contacted by Orbit Energy during a canvassing campaign in my neighborhood. We were looking for an opportunity to use solar energy and thought this company would be a good idea. The sales rep we worked with was great and responsive and we were on track for our project to be completed. Unfortunately the sales rep was laid off. After that we had a terrible experience with Orbit, lack of response on our project no customer service whatsoever. The panels have been installed on our house and we are waiting for the final connection from our electric company. I learned today that Orbit energy is now going out of business. They have not communicated with their customers and this is terrible. I regret choosing them for my solar power. I am now stuck with solar panels on my house, that have been inspected, but I do not know if Orbit ever sent the inspection to my power company and I do not know if I will be able to use the panels on the top of my house.Initial Complaint

We have a serious service problem that needs attention. We have a ******** water softener. On January 11th 2023, a service technician came to service our unit because we had a "Call for service alert on our system. He changed the hygiene filter media. He rinsed and rechecked the system in all the cycles, etc. We paid $253.59 on January 11, 2023.However, the service technician was competent , and he said that if the water did not turn off, to contact him. We did that within two days. We contacted the company and conveyed that message. We were told that we would hear back when the part came in. We had to shut down our system because the water ran continuously and would lead to an outrageous water bill. Therefore, for over five weeks we have not had our water softened --which is why we have their unit and system. We called back more than once to the ******************* and left a message one and two weeks ago, and have not received any return phone call from the company.This is unacceptable.We are not receiving the service that we have paid for. About one-to-two years ago, we purchased a new water softening unit from the company.We are long-time customers, since approximately ****, and this is an unfortunate situation that the company has made.Initial Complaint

Contacted and ordered Solar Survey in August 2022. Sales Apt made and contracts signed. Site survey and Solar Panel array installation occurred in September, 2022 and Energy Audit in October. All were done professionally and in a timely manner. Funds started coming out of bank acct in November, but promised "signing bonus" didn't show on stated time. Repeated calls to customer service encountered "we're delayed in payments, etc.." When the promised "signing bonus" didn't arrive after 3 weeks of continual calls and excuses, I threatened to contact ****** 10 **** Responds" team, received a call and the funds arrived next day. The promised paperwork for both Federal and State Income Tax not delivered (auto voice attendant stated that paperwork was delayed and would be sent end of January). Repeated calls to the company goes to a full voice mail system. Concern over any warranty claims is the largest concern, even if company becomes solvent and continues to exist.Initial Complaint

In February 2022 we signed a contract with Orbit for solar panels and a new roof. The solar panels were installed in April 2022. We were guaranteed by our sales person that the solar would cover 70% of our electric bill once the electric company came out and switched our meter. We were also told that Orbit would reimburse use for our solar panel payment and 70% of our electric bill until the solar panels were functioning. We started being billed in October 2022 although the meter hadn't been replaced. Orbit sent us reimbursement for October and November. But no reimbursement for electric. On December 13, 2022 our meter was finally switched. When I had called Orbit to ask for a number to call about the meter previously they told me there was no number I would have to wait. We got our first electric bill once the panels were up and running and it was over $415.00. I called Orbit and spoke to ******** and she told me my panels only cover 70% of my bill. I said I understand that but it only covered about 28%. She said I used too much electric and didn't produce enough energy with my panels. I asked to speak to a manager because $415.00 was normal for us in January. She put me on hold and came back and said the manager left and would call me back. I am still waiting for a call back. My bill for electric should be about ****** if the panels covered 70%. Now I have a solar bill for ****** and electric for $415.00. The point was to save money not spend double each month. When you look at the grid, half my panels don't even get enough sun to produce energy. They are changing me $99,000 for solar and a roof and nothing works. I don't even think they did the survey / study they were supposed to do to show how many panels I would need. I texted the sales person, who no longer works there and he said he was sorry for putting us in this position. Orbit had told him to make alot of promises they aren't keeping and that is why he left. I feel very betrayed by Orbit.Business Response

Firstly I would like to sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this has caused. I just want to give you a little information about installation and the process just in case it was withheld during the point of sale. Firstly, once panels are activated you need at least 2-3 billing cycles for the %70 percent off set you were promised and provided with to reflect on your bill. Another thing that people are unaware of at the point of going solar is that your bill needs to be paid down to zero so there is no past due balance carried over. Lastly, please make sure that you aren't enrolled in any payment plans through the electric company. We would love to better assist you, please send over the electric bills in question so we could better dissect the situation.

I am rejecting this response because:Orbit isn't addressing the fact that they sold me panels that produce no energy. I am paying for something that is not benefiting me in anyway. No one ever told me it would take several billing cycles before I saw savings. And they are asking for copies of my electric bill but not telling me who specifically to email them to.

In installing solar system, Orbit damage my Gutter Helmets. Gutter Helmets estimated.that the cost to replace the gutters would be $5,280. Orbit agreed to pay $3,200, They were to pay over 6 months ago I (have called them over 20 times, every time, they informed me that the check is coming, Now, Orbit is in a Chapter 11 bankruptcy and they will not be able to honor their responsibility.
