Every day Momentum Solar calls me at least 3-times. They change their phone number to disguise who they are. I have absolutely no interest in any of their services or products and I block them every tme they call. Aparently they are so stupid that they dont realize I am not interested. When I block them every time they call, it should be obvious that im not interested. If they dont stop calling me I will sue them for harrassment. I cant install solar anyway because I live in a condo.Business Response

The first representative that came to my house offered me payment for time. That if I sat through a presentation I would receive $200 I agreed to this I sat through the presentation 3 days laterabout an hour or so but I have not yet received my $200 I was supposed to have received it that very following week it has now been 3 weeks I can't get a hold of her I can't get a hold of anyone regarding this issue everybody I do talk to just tries to sell me solar and I just want my agreed to compensation the panels are near double price I can get elsewhere and there's no obvious program anywhere that they offer they sell it to you or they miss it too that's not what our government is offering as incentives other than the tax breaks my friends down the street paid nearly half of that amount on a purchase I'm getting nearly the same kilowatt hours I think a little more but they offered me, but if they're selling these systems for that much they can afford to pay my $200 I would appreciate it if their company would compensate me the $200 promised by their representative for my timeBusiness Response

Momentum Solar has sent out field sales **** to our area without a permit, without authorization and without identification. They are canvassing our neighborhoods with no ID, no ipads, no clipboards or information. I am not even sure these **** work for Momentum, as there was no proof, only a small logo on their shirt I obtained from my security video.Business Response

Momentum Solar has been in contact with the homeowner to clarify that all company representatives carry proper identification, which would have been presented had someone been available to answer the door. The homeowner's primary concern was the absence of visible identification beyond the company logo on the representatives shirt. Momentum Solar has confirmed that the homeowners address has been removed from the contact list to prevent any future visits.Initial Complaint

There is water leaking in my attic from the system that was installed. Contacted service and was told somebody would get back to me in 3 business days. I would say this is an urgent matter sine my ceiling is in danger of collapsing. Somebody has to coming and inspect it to see what is wrong. This is absolutely unacceptable.Business Response

Momentum Solar has been in ongoing communication with the homeowner regarding this matter. The contract in place is a Power Purchase Agreement, and the system size listed is an estimate and is not a guaranteed size. Therefore, an amendment was not required or generated for the change in system size. Momentum Solar has requested the homeowners utility bills in order to proceed with the panel add-on. We will continue to communicate with the homeowner until the issue is fully resolved.Initial Complaint

They continue to call my cell phone (9 times today so far). I've asked to be added to their do-not-call list on multiple occasions, but they persist regardless. I've have been blocking them each time but they use multiple numbers to spam people. This is harassment and I would never do business with a company like this.Business Response

Momentum Solar is the sole manufacturer and service providers for my panels. I just had my roof replaced through my insurance. Momentum Solar takes more than 72 hrs to respond to any message to set up uninstallation. It took them 1 month to schedule an uninstall. They finally uninstalled it, leaving hardware all over my yard. The roof was done and inspected and all pictures of final roof AND installation check was sent to Momentum Solar to ************* took another two weeks to get anyone on the phone to move forward and schedule. Finally got a call and they said their team will install on 5/25 between 8am and 5pm. Which has no passed and my Panels have not been re-installed. Which means I'm not longer generating electricity to the grid or offsetting my electricity bill. This service team has the worst customer service and follow through I've ever seen. I have given them multiple passes and been extremely nice and helpful during this entire process until now. This needs to get done. I have a gutter Contractor scheduled to come out but now I have to push them for the 3rd time because the Solar company no showed. They have receipt of $5k~ in re-install cost already and holding onto our money.I need them to send out a team to re-install my roof AND reimburse me for the time my panels have not been generating for their lack of customer service and timely de-install/re-install.Business Response

After meeting with several companies in 2020, my wife and I purchased solar from ***** ******/Momentum. My wife has been in the insurance industry for over 25 years, so we based our purchase decision off of that knowledge and declarations made by Ms. ****** as a representative of Momentum. We were told it was the company standard to detach and reset solar panels at no charge to us if there was storm damage that required our roof to be replaced. She further explained the panels are hurricane grade and would protect the shingles by taking the brunt force of the wind; there should be essentially no storm damage to the shingles. We were shown photographs of storm devastation to many homes, but none to the solar panel or roofing system installed by momentum. This along with various community, and business memberships, A review of their warranty, which states in part, your warranty covers all system maintenance, and repairs or replacements, for the lifetime of your solar agreement. We call it worry-free maintenance because its taken care of at no cost to you, we decided to move forward. Now that we have storm damage, and some rotted wood under a few panels, we are being told we need to prove what was said to us by Ms. ******* They were quick to provide a generic contract with a digitized signature that is not mine while reciting a standard thats not what the contract says. We dont go around randomly recording conversations! Furthermore, this was standard! We do expect a company that we entrusted $35k to install panels on our 3 year old home, at the time, to honor their commitment. This is not something we pulled out of the air! We have been met with slow responses, hostility, and an emailed estimate we were told to give to our insurance company for almost $10k to detach and reset our panels. We arent even using our insurance, but its still absolutely egregious to expect 30% of the cost!We simply request that Momentum honor our original agreement.Business Response

Momentum Solar has been in contact with the homeowner. We have clarified that, according to the terms of the contract, damage resulting from an Act of God is not covered. As such, a complimentary removal and reinstallation (R&R) cannot be provided. The homeowner indicated that the roof damage was caused by a storm. They have declined to file a claim through their homeowners insurance and instead plan to hire a third party to complete the R&R.Customer Answer

I am rejecting this response because:
I have contacted Momentum and requested a senior member of management to address my concerns. My wife and myself were told the manager was on vacation and there was no one available to speak with. We were subsequently transferred to an endless customer service loop. The only explanation we received about the removal and reinstallation of the panels was we needed to locate the coupon that was given to us or there was nothing momentum was willing to do. Upon further investigation, we located our documents and take issue with the following:1. The contract provided to me by ******** is not the contract I signed. I have requested the original and instead received a generic Docusign signature without a timestamp.
2. Momentum sold and we paid to have 33 solar panels installed, we only have 30.
3. The panels sold to us by momentum, are not the panels that were installed.
4. The contract states both parties have to sign a change order for deviations, no such order exists. In addition the engineering plans with the county are also incorrect, as this is not what we have installed.Momentum is in breach of contract and we request this matter be addressed with us in a professional manner.

Upon review of the newest issue raised by the homeowner in his rejection, we have investigated the details surrounding the project. Our findings conclude that while the homeowner initially signed up for a project using 33 panels at 315 wattage, the homeowner's HOA rejected the initial design, and it was determined that we were only able to install 30 panels. However, to offset the loss in production we utilized 350 wattage panels so that the homeowner received more panel wattage than what was initially designed.Customer Answer

I am rejecting this response because:
I am uncertain how/why Ms. ****** ****** responded as if this was a resolution. We requested the documents from Momentum showing where our HOA rejected the design. We were told this was not readily available and would be provided to us at a later time. Ms. ******* argument that Momentum did not have to notify us or secure a change order is categorically false. Per the *** Ms. ****** provided to us, it only applies to permitting, utility service permitting/contact, and communication with our HOA, so a change order would in fact be required, as stated in Momentums contract. I have also requested a copy of any documentation from the notary bond agency, as the signatures, dates, and handwriting appear to be filled in after the fact, in addition to our security system not showing where we ever had the notary ******** ******* in our home, let alone my property.I was told several things about what the system should do, and throughout the course of this, I am finding it to not be the case at all. I feel very let down by Momentum especially to try and pass off a *** to make contract changes, what would even be the purpose of anyone signing a contract if the other party can change it without notifying you? They cant, thats illegal!
It is my hope that we could come to a satisfactory resolution.

Momentum Solar has been in contact with the homeowner and is actively working with them to resolve the issue. Please note that the system design was modified due to HOA restrictions, and this change was verbally communicated to the homeowner prior to the installation of the solar system. Additionally, the solar system has consistently exceeded the estimated production.Customer Answer
Date: 07/12/2025
Complaint: 23353191
I am rejecting this response because:
I have now received confirmation from my HOA that they did not communicate any denial or request for changes to the solar design to Momentum. The design was approved immediately, with no modifications requested. According to my conversation with the **** their role is not to serve as experts but to ensure that licensed providers carry out work on our properly.
I was asked to provide any information regarding a supposed rejection of the installation request for internal investigation. Momentum has stated they have no documentation regarding the rejection of the application, other than it being noted. Similarly, any verbal confirmation of our acceptance has also been noted internally by Momentum, with no written record available.
I would like to refer to Momentums contract, which states the following in relevant part: Change Orders: Any change to the work or the installation schedule that you or we request will be set out in a written change order signed by both you and us. You agree that a change order may result in a change to the terms of the agreement between you and us, including but not limited to, the contract price and the anticipated installation schedule. If you request, in writing, a change to the scope or performance of the services provided under this agreement, then we will provide you with a written change order for your approval within a reasonable time after such written request. You agree that we may issue a change order if a Force Majeure Event (as defined below) occurs that changes or impairs our ability to perform under the current terms and conditions of this agreement. All change orders, including a change order resulting from a Force Majeure Event, must be approved in writing by you within a reasonable time after receipt, and you agree not to unreasonably withhold your approval of any change order.
The scope of work has changed, yet a change order has not been created for approval and signature by all parties involved. Momentum has initially justified this oversight by stating that, due to the Power of Attorney we signed, they can act on my behalf. However, the Power of Attorney is specifically limited to matters concerning permitting, utilities, and communication with my HOA.
Momentum also claims that because the equipment involved is an upgrade, a change order is unnecessary. If that is the case, then Momentum's contract should include a provision similar to an insurance Liberalization Clause. It is unreasonable to assume that changes to a $40,000 investment, which is part of a larger $450,000 investment, can be accepted without official documentation. Such an assumption reflects a significant misunderstanding of contractual obligations.
Momentum has requested that I provide photos of the wood being replaced on the roof, along with my invoice showing payment for the detachment and reset of my system prior to the recent installation. I assume this is to facilitate reimbursement. While I am willing to send the photos, I believe that Momentums own estimate for the detachment and reset of my panels should suffice.
Although I have paid more than what was initially quoted by Momentum, I want to make sure that I do not unintentionally create any scrutiny or backlash for the licensed solar professional who is managing my detachment and reinstallation for Momentum. Its important to me that the professional can perform their work without facing any unnecessary issues.
Furthermore, while my system has been producing electricity, it is not accurate or fair to claim that it has exceeded production. From my discussions with Momentums sales representative, I was under the impression that my panels would allow me to have power even when the rest of the neighborhood did not, effectively powering my home during outages. I now understand that this is not correct; to achieve that capability, I would need an i28, a 10 kW battery, and an 8-series inverter. As it stands, I have powerful panels that only plug into an outlet since I do not have any batteries.
