I am receiving daily calls from this company all with the Momentum Solar ID. I have explained to them multiple times I am not interested but I keep being contacted by the company. I am being harassed daily by this company, why would I ever do business with them? I do not want to be contacted by this company.Business Response

In the Fall of 2023, we had Solar panels installed by Momentum Solar ***** 11 of our ********************************************** the Spring of 24. In the Fall of 24, an engineer came out to our home and fixed the problem. He told us that the panels had been incorrectly wired. When I asked for a reimbursement of all the electricity that we had been guaranteed and lost. ** contacted me in the late Fall and offered around $320. I agreed, and never heard back from them. I first spoke with ******* at ** and, no help. In January of 2025, I called again and was told by **** that we had to download a form, sign it in front of a notary public, and send it back. We did that on January 23rd 2025. On January 27, I called ** again and was assured by TJ that all the paperwork was in order and that all that was left was for the legal department to counter-sign my paperwork. I waited three weeks for a check to arrive and when it didn't, I called ** again to check on the status of my money. On February 20th, I spoke with ******* and she advised me that my paperwork had not made it to the legal department. Waited another 9 weeks, no check. Spoke with ******** Paperwork was still at legal department. On April 24th then sent a letter with return receipt to the CEO of **, ****** *********** and asked him to resolve the issue within 10 days. He ignored me completely. Last week, I called ** again and was told that although my paperwork was now counter signed and at the accounting department, it is apparently under review now. I gave ** until today in the hope of finally resolving this issue. Please help me resolve this issue, so i can get my money from Momentum Solar. I appreciate your time. Momentum solar put solar on my roof. my roof now leaks the Insurance they have does not cover roof. It took them over a year to even give me a insurance certificate. I don't know if you can do anything to help but I don't want another consumer to go through ******** can you do Solar and not have proper insurance. I have already sent a complaint form to N.J. **** of banking and insurance too. They are working with a handyman home improvement License. This company is not good business We are looking at over $100,000 with roofing redone, inside sheet rock and finish. and that don't include mold which I see in sheet rock now. also storage to put my stuff while sanding is being done.Business Response

Momentum Solar sold this to me however contract and payment is to IGS Solar so not sure which business to file this on. I signed a contract in July of 2024 however still do not have working solar service. I will explian the issue further on but the system is turned down right now and has been since July. I have made endless attempts to have Momentum/IGS resolve the issue. I also paid, out of my own pocket, an electrician to come to my home and investigate the issue, change everything out in my kitchen, even though my electric was brand new and brought to code the year before. My refrigerator was also only a year old at the time of install. The issue: The day the solar was installed and turned on, a few hours later (long enough for some energy to bank from the sun), my refrigerator breaker tripped. I reset it and half an hour later it tripped again. It continued to do it many many times for the next few days. I engaged Momentum and they insisted it wasn't the solar even though they would not send out an electrician and even though it literally happend same day of install and never happened again. After begging them to send someone out, they sent a person who fully offered he was not an electrician. After an endless amount of contacting people and escalations and wild accusations from them to me, they stopped responding basically. They expect me to put it in a breaker that does not trip and is also Not part of the ************ code, not to mention dangerous. Because I won't do that, and my electrician advises absolutely not, they are washing their hands. So I am now paying them monthly and i do not have working service and not getting any responses. I have all the details of who I have tried to contact and dates and responses if I received one and can provide. I am at a loss for what to do at this point. Please help.Business Response

I partially accept the response. Firstly, we don’t know if this specific action will resolve the issue so I’d like to leave case open until after it’s been proven it has. The past attempts did not resolve. Also, Momentum did receive the bill I paid and detailed explanation regarding the electrician bill I had to pay out of pocket. It has been discussed with Momentum to reimburse me and there was a back and forth for months and then no response regarding this specifically as well. I had brand new electric in my kitchen, that I paid for less than a year before, so the fact that I had to pay for electrician to come out again, to prove I did not have an electrical problem and further prove this issue was directly related to solar (again issue happened first day solar was installed and every time solar is turned on.) This cost would not have been necessary had I not installed the solar and or the solar company Momentum would have sent their own electrician. I also paid for a month of solar while it’s not working but I’ll eat that cost.

On May 17, 2025, our service team visited the property to replace a breaker that had been identified as a potential concern. Upon inspection and replacement, it was determined that the breaker tripping issue is not related to the solar system. I am rejecting this response because: The first complaint did finally get the business to call me however we are at a standstill and the situation is getting worse. I paid to have my kitchen electric brought to NYS code. I passed NYS inspection. Momentum's solar does not work with ARC FAULT breakers and these are required by NY State and the ONLY breakers that pass inspection for a kitchen. Not only does Momentum not care about NYS electrical code, they undid the work I paid for and took out my refrigerator arc fault and put in a "regular" breaker. Not only is this not to code in NYS, I no longer have my arc fault that I paid for. I will not pass an inspection and will also not be able to file an insurance claim in case of a fire from the breaker Momentum installed. They also took my arc fault with them. So they installed that regular breaker and turned the solar on and now i have to go to the basement and reset all my breakers numerous times a day for the kitchen. I again turned the solar off since it does not work with what is required in NYS for a kitchen. So i again am paying Momentum (IGS) solar for service that does not work. Their answer is it's my problem that my breakers don't work with what is required in NYS for electrical code. There was no requirement for a certain type of breaker upon install and they had an engineer and eletrician inspect and approve what was in my eletctrical box. I have endured a financial loss having to pay my own electrian and enormous ongoing stress with trying to get them to answer and resolve this for a year now and constantly having to reset mutliple breakers throughout the day especially when im trying to cook or have groceries in the refrigerator on a hot day. They also have not addressed the amount of money i had to pay out of pocket since they would not send their own electrician.

I am rejecting this response because: This is only a partial response from the business. Firstly, I have no messages from Momentum so not sure they say they have attempted to contact me. Why are they not leaving a voice mail message or sending an email, something I can respond to if they are attempting to contact me. Their response says contact them to schedule. Who do I contact?? No one responds or if I get someone to answer the phone they don't know the history so I need to know specifically who to call. I accept the appt for June 30th for the exterior tap however I'd like to know what that means exactly. Also, Momentum needs to return my ARC fault or replace the "regular" breaker they installed for my refrigerator with an ARC fault that i paid for and puts me back in NYS code. Thank you.

During this visit, the technician will complete an exterior tap as an alternative method of interconnecting the solar system, thereby avoiding any interconnection through the main service panel. Additionally, the homeowner’s arc fault breaker will be reinstalled. For the second time in 2 years of having this solar installation it has broken. The first time cost me approximately $300 and this time it's costing me at least $100. They take forever to actually set up an appointment. It's now been two weeks since I've called to have them repair the system but no call back to schedule the appointment. I am only talking about scheduling the appointment. It does not take 2 week to do this. This just feels like a delay tactic. The customer service is absolutely terrible. Excessive phone calls from multiple numbers never the same number. I have blocked 13 different phone numbers. This no doubt, makes Momentum Solar look like a scam company in my opinion if there are multiple numbers.I have caller ID.
