Hello, I purchased bed bath and beyond gift cards for my daughters this past Christmas 2022 so that they could use them to get things for college. As the end of the school year is ending, they decided to go to a bed bath and beyond store and then find out that the store is not only closing, but they will no longer except their own gift cards. We are on a tight budget and not having a way now to use their gift cards at the store or online is heartbreaking. I am very upset over this and feel that the store should be obligated to refund any money on everyones gift cards as they were purchased with cash. We had a $150.00 left on a gift card. My husband went online and he received the message go in store, He goes in the store to make a purchase and it read a error, and he could not use it. My husband called the customer service number and it no longer exists. the liquation customer service agent stated that he could not accept his gift card at the store and there was nothing that he could do about it. Bed Bath and Beyond STOLE money from their customers. People bought gift cards for family members like my daughter going away to college. The company gave barely any notice to use the cards. On 5/8/23, the last day that gift cards were allowed to be used for purchase at Bed Bath Beyond (or BuyBuy Baby) according to the bankrupancy settlement, I went into the BBB store in ********** ****************. I had 4 gift cards (total balance $200+) that I tried to use to purchase several items at the cash register. The cashier said the cards couldn't be used - cashier assumed balance was zero because transaction system wouldn't accept them. I told her I knew 100% certainty that there was significant balance on all 4 cards. Balance was written on each gift card and several still had the pin covered with the scratch off ensuring that they had not been used. The manager came over and said there was nothing she could if the cash register/computer did not accept them for the transaction. I was very upset knowing this was an error and went home. When I called the number on the back to check the gift card balance, it confirmed the balance was present on all 4 cards. The next day was 5/9/23. I went back to the store explaining that they made an error the night before. They said the cards could no longer be used as it was 5/9/23. Because of THEIR computer sytem error, the company kept the money that is rightly mine on those gift cards. What can be done about this from a legal standpoint? To me this is 100% thievery. I'd expect a refund check or someway to use the funds in the store for the remaining days it is open due to BBB error, not mine.Initial Complaint

I purchased a frying pan from Bed Bath and Beyond. Although the company was having a going out of Business Sale, I am very unhappy with the way I was treated. When I got home, I noticed the pan was damaged. They had other pans that I could have easily exchanged it for. Instead, they told me that I had to keep the one I purchased and all sales are final. That is very bad business. It is probably why they are going out of business....poor and almost criminal customer service! I either want a replacement or my money back... Ordered a Breville Dual boiler on 18 june 2020. since it was covid the return period of items was extended to 6 months. After facing issues in product , I called customer care and they told me to return the product and sent me shipping label. i returned the product in Jan 2021 as discussed by customer care representative. I didnt get my refund and raised issue with customer care multiple times for over a year they kept saying it is being worked upon and I didnt get my money or the product. I have reference number given by customer care - *************. Even I reached out on ******* and after one reply they never cared . i have lost more than **** dollars.
