I have been a customer since I purchased my house in 2016 and have had small issues here and there but the past two year have been terrible. I have been on a budget plan with auto pay since becoming a customer. Therefore they are responsible to track my meter and deliver propane when needed. They were short staffed at our local branch and skipped by delivery therefore I ran out of propane and had no heat in my house in ********** in February. My house was sub 60 degrees for close to 18 hrs with two toddlers living in it. When I called about no heat I wasnt even on the schedule for immediate delivery they had to add me. I had just returned from vacation I dont want to think about what could have happened if I was out of town and didn't notify them of the outage. Frozen pipes leading to major water damage!! When it was time to renew my contract this past July (2022) I was hesitant due to the mixup but I resigned anyway. I paid my deposit and sign the new contract. The local branch never submitted my paperwork so my contract was never started. In February of 2023 I began getting phone calls of a past due balance. I called my branch and they had no notes about my contract and just told me I owed money. Once I got my notes and started to state numbers they then were able to find the missing contract. At that point I had owe a half of year of payments because my auto pay wasnt going through. I made over a $2000 payment to bring my contract up to date and they honored the signed contract from July. Just last week I began getting phone calls stating that I once again owe over $500 and its been over *********************************************************************************** a contract with auto pay so I am unsure how I owe money again and last week is the first I was notified of the bill but its over 90 days. Corporate doesnt talk with local branch and ZERO notes are taken and saved to the account only result is the customer being charged more and more.

Weve had the company for at ************************************** my driveway to fill tank but I never called them. We told them we didnt need any refill at this time and they came back with well we are suppose to come yearly to fill tank, but we have had them for ten years and they never came out yearly unless we called them! They also said they would be charging a fee $69.00 for the trip even if we didnt fill tank! We are seniors! How about a letter informing us customers of a change in the way they will conduct business in the future!!! So we will from now on giv them free money for not needing a refill? And they said they didnt have to give notice of any changes! Looks like ripping the public off is todays standards!!! Why isnt there any laws against companies s******* he customers like this!!? Maybe eventually customers will jump ship and leave them without!Looking to leave these crooks!

We apologize for the customer service issued and explained our goal in going out there to inspect our equipment.  We also provided a discount on the delivery are sending them a refund check as a one-time courtsey.  Customer was pleased with the conversation and how we handled this issue.

Horrible service for years. Three different accounts, one with zero balance, one with credit balance, and one with positive balance. They just came and shut off my system, so no hot water and no heat if I wanted it, without notice. Against **************** law for those of ** affected by the catastrophic floods. Against usual practice since I've made over $1,000 payments on account in the last two months. Do yourself a big favor. NEVER DO BUSINESS WITH SUBURBAN PROPANE.

In March, customer's budget was increased from $212.00 to $416.00, but she continued to pay the $212.00. In May she made a payment of $212.00 on 5/1/ 2023, and then made a payment of $500.00 on 5/20/2023. Then went back to the $212.00 a month, and subsequently removed from the budget for not making her payments. She was notified by credit and collections on 7/6/2023 that if she did not catch it up she would be removed from the budget. She was called by credit and collections on 7/17/2023, were we left a voice mail but received no call in response. She was called on 7/21/2023 to notify her she was removed from the budget and was given a disconnect letter by our service department on 7/28/2023. When she was called she hung up on credit and collections. She was disconnected on 7/31/2023, after being disconnected she called and swore at and screamed at the **** She later called got in touch with the call center and paid the back balance. We sent a tech out right after being informed she paid in full and turned the gas back on.

This review is the FIRST negative onIine review I have ever written but am compelled to do so in light of the Outrageous Pricing of this company and less than transparent account charges. **********************'s last and final fill was **** gallons for $454.70 which is $7.99 per gallon. The new provider's fill in their newly installed tank was **** gallons for $268.80 which is $2.80 per gallon.S.P. can respond that less frequent usage is "cause" for higher rate but that reasoning cannot account for the gross overcharge. We normally investigate other providers of services but didn't do so and CAUTION/WARN other potential propane customers to check all other possible providers before using Suburban Propane. We recently switched companies after finally investigating and finding that we had another option. We had been "auto pay" customers since **** with one 100 gallon tank. After all those years we were shocked to find that there is a $150. + surcharge fee( $9.57) for tank removal. We called Suburban and after a 20+ minute wait for an answer we were told that the fee was in our "contract" which we had never seen or signed. We will pay it to keep our stellar credit rating and be rid of this company.I had to select One star, the minimum, but if possible I would have selected Zero.

The County Inspector informed Suburban in our local office that the ground under his tank was unstable. Our office Manager reached out to the customer to inform them of the situation.
We sent a Service Tech to survey the situation and all agreed that tank should be moved to another location. The customer said he would contact us when the prep work was completed so we could move and reconnect the tank. After not hearing from him we reached out to him and he said he had another company move and swap out the tank. He said we can come get ours. Customer never mentioned any pricing issues as we would have been happy to work together to find a solution.  We wish him well with his new propane service provider.

********* ** SUBURBAN PROPANE.IN MY PERSONAL OPNION, THE WORST!!********* ** SUBURBAN PROPANE *********** is far from desirable in any way, especially the office people that can't understand when you do or don't want a delivery. All they care about is sucking the money out of your pre buy account. Think about it $20 a month $240+ a year for nothing for everyone on a contract, plus whatever else they can add on without understandable explanation. They can't even understand when you tell them you don't want a delivery so I could never rely on them if I needed propane, although its paid for. Do yourself a favor and do your business with someone else is only my opnion but be warned its more for their benefit than yours, you put money in your account and it just ends up in their pocket even if you didn't get propane. DONT SIGN A CONTRACT OR YOUR STUCK FOR THREE YEARS OF THE WORST OF SERVICE!IN MY OPNION THEIR TAKING ADVANTAGE OF THE DISABLED, ELDERLY, AND NEEDY PEOPLE THAT SIGNED CONTRACT EXPECTING A TRUSTWORTHY AND HONEST PROPANE SUPPLYER, INSTED YOU GET PRICE GOUGING AND SUB PAR SERVICE IN MY OPNION (ESPECIALLY OFFICE/CUSTOMER SERVICE).DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND GET SERVICE WITH A REPUTABLE COMPANY THAT CARES ABOUT THE SERVICE THEY CLAIM TO PROVIDE INSTED OF A COMPANY SLOWLY DRAINING THE MONEY FROM YOUR ACCOUNT . IF I COULD GIVE A LOWER RATING WOULD! ITS ALL ABOUT MONEY, NOT CUSTOMER SERVICE, OR CUSTOMER SATISFACTION, ITS ABOUT SLOWLY DRAINING YOUR ACCOUNT, SERVIVE OR NOT!SUB-PAR TO SAY THE VERY VERY LEAST!!!

We have tried to reach this customer a few times by phone but he does not have a voicemail. He did call back for a rep on Tuesday requesting a delivery, but has not responded to our managers calls as of yet. Customer is not receiving his required once a year delivery causing a minimum use to be billed to his account. Once he receives the delivery the annual charge can be removed. We will continue to try and make contact again on Monday.

This was a Pac West Customer, who called in upset that she was not notified of the purchase of Pac West. We apologized she wasn't notified by ******** but at no point did we get the option to discuss price and/or fees of any kind. As such, we are not sure where she is pulling her information from as to our fees.

Something should be done about this company. It only takes a few minutes of reading reviews online to realize that this company should no longer be in business. They train their employees to be rude and price ***** customers. If you are purchasing a home with an underground tank that is owned by these crooks, be prepared to pay double the price for your propane each fill.

I am thinking of signing up with this propane *** because I got rid of Amerigas last yr because they have a fee for everything except buying the truck driver's lunch. All of these negative reviews really caught my attention till I finally found a couple positive ones. Are there no more local propane companies in the US anymore??? Edit: I had to give a star review before I could ask this question so I picked 3 star based on no contact with ***...

We purchased a home that had a lease already with sp . I should had done research before I kept them for service.Price from sp is $4.17 a gal average price for propane is $2.68 . I called their office and they said they would sell it to me for $2.50 a gal and I said ok. Then I get the bill and it was $4.17 a gal. I called back and they said thats the price. Im so done with them I bought my own tank and other competition filled it for $2.10 a gal. All I want is to be treated fairly and I feel that is price gouging.

We spoke with our customer and will issue a refund on the ******************** he paid for. Customer's price was for a leased tank and we offer a special pricing for customer owned tanks, which is why his price was slightly higher. This account is a delivery every 2.5 years. The price was correct as quoted for a low volume user.

Great customer service!!! I was so happy with the service I received from beginning to end!! The customer service representative ******* was very friendly, kind, helpful, and efficient, as well as *****, and the service tech ***** that came out to the house and filled my tank was on time, kind, and efficient.
