Our local manager spoke with ****** whom has participated in our propane prebuy plans the past 4 years. This past year, her price was very competitive in the market. Since her tank is reading empty, there wont be any restocking fee or credit due. We appreciate her kind words about our office staff and will be sure to pass that along to them as well.Review fromVirgie S

I have been a Suburban Propane customer (**********, **) since moving into my home, in 2008. Ive never had a problem with this company. When I became a customer with this company, I requested a 100 gallon tank to be installed so that I wouldnt have to constantly order propane throughout the year. A yearly rental fee, for the tank, was required and paid. Ive always ordered my propane once a year and I have never complained about the exuberant amount per gallon that they charge when I put in an order for filling up a 100 gallon tank. BUT.theyve crossed the line, on good customer service, this year (2024) for me! I received a billing statement, in the mail, at the beginning of June, 2024. This statement showed a charge for propane received on 05/14/2024, two sales tax charges, two municipal tax charges and a transportation fuel surcharge. If I had ordered this I wouldnt be complaining but I didnt! I called the local company to let them know that I hadnt made an order for the propane that was showing on this billing. To my surprise, I was told that this was an automatic charge, for propane, due to the fact that I hadnt ordered any propane since early 2023. All my years with this company I have never had an issue regarding this type of practice with them. I was never notified by mail, email or phone that this company was going to start changing the billing practices for their customers. I was told that I, the customer, will be automatically charged an order fee for propane never requested nor received whether I agree or not. And that this was a required change of business instituted from corporate headquarters. I was told by the customer service representative that this billing statement was my notification of changes but not once on my billing statement is this fact stated as a change of practice but is only showing where Im billed for propane that I never received. The customer representative scheduled for tank to be picked up on 06/17/24 but no show.Suburban Propane, L.P.

Dealt with the **************** I had a contract with them on January 8 for a gas tank for my fireplace and a connection to my 1100 Generator. They have been telling me they are waiting for the Permit since I signed the Contract and paid them over $862., Do not deal with the **************** they are incompetent and should not be a representative of Suburban. I will be giving my business to someone that will treat me accordingly and that actually know what I need and what can't be done.Suburban Propane, L.P.

Our local manager called ***************** on 6/19/2024 and said that her permit was ready and we could do the install on 6/26/2024, but she said to cancel and refund her deposit. We apologized and said we would refund her deposit. As of today her credit card was credit back the full deposit.Review fromMarybeth L

Run from this company. Their billing practices are unscrupulous at best. I have been with them for three years. Over the course of three years, I have paid them over $2000. What did I get for that? Propane for cooking at an average of 13 gallons per year. I have been renting their tank because they don't sell them. When I got a new range, it needed to be connected by the propane company. The charge was $450 for less than an hour's work. I have a propane portable generator that I wanted hooked up. I was forced to get a different tank and was charged $1000. They came back three times and the generator was never hooked up. Worse, they used too much pressure and broke a part on the generator. The icing on the cake is that they came to top off my tank. They delivered 13.2 gallons of propane and my bill was $261. When I called to ask why, I was told that there is a minimum charge and a monthly minimum charge to have a generator hook up. So I have been charged for the privilege of NOT using the propane I paid for and NOT having an emergency need to use my generator. I finally got smart and switched. The new company sold me a tank and hooked up the generator for no additional money. If you want to bleed money, sign up with Suburban.Suburban Propane, L.P.

The customer signed our agreements, which clearly states that there is a minimum monthly usage charge for both. A $5.00 minimum monthly charge for the cooking tank, and a minimum monthly charge of $20.00 for her generator tank. There were also labor charges for converting their range, and also labor charges for the generator parts, and installation. Both sub locations are on a 1x/year delivery schedule. They have not met the minimum bill for either tank sub, resulting in those charges. They have since switched to another supplier, and we are picking our tank up today. If the tank is full, which it appears to be, she will receive credit for the gas, which should eliminate the outstanding current balance. A complete accounting will be done once the tank is picked up and reconciled. Any money due to the customer will be issued by check.Review fromLisa M

We moved in to our property 2 years ago in *******, **. Two very large unsightly and unused propane tanks in the middle of back yard. We have requested Suburban Propane to come remove it 6 times over the past year. Each time, they politely agree and schedule us in for a month in the future and each time they are a no show. First it was *****, then they had a staffing shortage, then someone died.... really??? It was the equivalent of the dog ate my homework. The lovely ********* who answers the phone must have a list of excuses lying by her phone. Beware of hiring them as once they have installed their tanks, their customer service (at least according to my experience) is non existent. If I ever need propane installed on my property, I will not use Suburban Propane, And, I still want them to come remove them. I don't know who to contact - the **************** A lawyer? Who regulates these type of companies?Suburban Propane, L.P.

Unethical business practices including price gouging of long-term customers. We are currently being charged more than double the market value for propane in our area. 7.91 per gallon vs 3.50 I called once to complain about pricing. I was told they would have the manager take a look at the issue. The price per gallon went up with the next automatic fill without communication from the manager.Unbelievable.Suburban Propane, L.P.

Suburban propane installed my tank on my neighbors property and then charged me to have it moved. I was made aware on the discrepancy when my neighbor decided to build. The manager I talked to basically said tough luck and they are not responsible. Worst customer service and regular service I have ever dealt with. If I could have given no stars I would have.Suburban Propane, L.P.

After discussing it with ***************, we have agreed to waive the cost of excavation of the tank. The adjustment will be done today and we will get his credit card refunded.Review fromBuddy R

Twice, Suburban Propane was to fill our tank over a few months, never saw them......called back to the *************** where it was to come from and the lady offered no real reason why we got none in two tries.....offered to put order in again but I declined......told her if they couldn't get the truck out in two tries, why would I think it would be there the third time???? Done with these idiots!!!! If my service is typical, I don't see how they stay in business....our tank is behind a locked gate that has to be left open for them as we are not always there.....dependable service is what we need....Suburban Propane, L.P.

This customer called into the *** on Tuesday the 30th of April and spoke to one of our representatives. Our manager immediately offered to speak to the customer but the customer refused to speak to our manager and give him an opportunity to remedy the problem. We have made a few attempts to make contact with ***************, but was unsuccessful. We will continue to reach out so that we may personally resolve this matter with our customer.Review fromAnn C

I am extremely upset with this company. I have a 100 gallon tank and it is used for a small fireplace in our living room. We do not require a lot of propane on a yearly basis. I was told because I don't buy a lot of propane they have to adjust the price per gallon, therefore, I am penalized for not needing a lot of the product. I looked up the price of propane in our area and I paid almost twice the amount per gallon. This is not right.Suburban Propane, L.P.
